The current weather in Edmonton, Alberta is
Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.
Just got home a short time ago from seeing the fireworks in Austin. They were great. What wasn't so great was getting in the car at 10:12 and not getting out of the parking garage until around 11:40! We didn't get out of Austin until midnight for our drive home.
It's been a really busy summer so far....lots of cleaning and hauling kids to various camps.
Hauke--Whenever I do weight loss (rarely even though I desperately need to), I only weigh once a week. I make myself nuts over the .2 up or .1 down. I always feel like I'm working so hard, and I get easily discouraged looking at little bits when I feel so deprived. I think diet is die with a t....LOL
Joyce--I sympathize with the heat and no rain. Fortunately, we've had a bit more rain than last year, but they still put a burn ban at my son's boy scout camp after a couple of fires got started by accident.
Mary--loved the cake for the 4th, and I love that you get rid of the calories. I appreciate that. I took a big corner piece even though I shouldn't eat the icing. Did you make it sugar-free as well?
Marge--Happy belated birthday. I didn't know someone else on here had the same birthday as I did. So glad we share the date.
Need to go to sleep now, but I figure this is about the only time I have to post. Have a great 5th!
Quick Good Morning To You ALL and Wishes for a GREAT Day....
I am having a quick cup of coffee, then will hit the shower and try to eat something before we leave for the surgical center...I made myself a K Cup of Tully's coffee, which is really good coffee...YUM... I love my K Cups even though they are not practical...LOL I will go grocery shopping while Ron gets his eye done....
Hi Shera!! My son talks about Austin a lot...He is moving to another part of Texas, closer to where Mattie will go to school.. He is sending her to a private school...Glad you are not as dry as last year, but from what I hear, you are quite hot...It is nice seeing a post from you and hearing from you...Happy Belated Birthday to you....Glad you enjoyed a big piece of cake....it is all no calories...
I gotta get ready to leave...BBL
Mary
hauke, I don't blame you for not liking the scales where you weigh in for your challenge. There is something about many people using a scale that makes it wacky and also the moving around of it. At least your scales are showing a loss. Keep up the good work.
Happy belated birthday, Shera! What fun having fireworks for your birthday every year!!!LOL Sounds like there was quite the crowd for the boomers!!!
Mary, hope all goes well with Rons cataract surgery and also with your grocery shopping. We had some wicked thunderstorms go through during the night, but sure didn't get much rain with all the noise.
Will wave to everyone else. I did read yesterdays posts last night, but I think I was exhausted from the heat, and can't remember all of what each of you posted, and I don't really have the time to reread!
Not sure what our official for yesterday was, but alot of people saw 100+ on personal thermometers. Seems like it is always somewhat cooler at the airport where the official take is.
Weather channel has us at 100 for today(and lots of humidity) and 102 for tomorrow. There is a cool down supposedly coming on Sun and Mon. Not going to hold my breath on that one.
Work last night was brutal. We are usually very slow during the afternoon of the 4th, but the heat brought them all in!! Money was great, but the temp in the dining room was 77 and way to hot for this gal!!!LOL Even some customers complained until we mentioned the 99 outside. I imagine we'll be way too busy tonight and I will come home all but a puddle of fat!!!LOL
Keep cool all of you involved in this wicked heat wave. Back later on.,
Deb
Hi Everyone,
Hope you all enjoyed a good day...Everything went well for Ron...We got to the surgical center at 6:15 AM and they took him immediately...By nine, we were ready to come home....He feels like he has gravel in his eye, but no pain and seems as good as can be expected......I think hes tired, but doing okay....
Deb, you sure are battling the heat, aren't you?? We are at 84 degree's and its very humid...We are lucky, I guess to have rain off and on, but others are not so lucky...I know I don't feel like eating or cooking when it is so hot, so I mostly grill outside... Tonight we have corned beef and cabbage and I might make myself a shake....
Take care everyone and stay cool...
Hi, everyone.
Just got home from church. Laura gave money to missions in honor of our anniversary, so we had lots of congrats after the service.
MARY and DEB, we have hot just like MI. Our thermometer got to 105 this afternoon. Glad Ron is doing fine after his surgery. And, DEB, working and customers in and out can take some of the A/C right out of your work place. We're trying to have salads and cool kinds of food on these hot days. Even tho' I'm in the A/C, I am still working in slo-mo. It was good to see SHEILA check in. Will see you all in the morning.
Hugs and prayers for all.
Nancy Z.
Hi everyone, I'm just checking in to see how Ron's eye surgery went, glad it didn't take too long and is done with. Mary, does Ron need to have those eye drops twice a day now, for awhile? I'll bet you needed that coffee early in the morning!
It was 45 degrees here this AM, needed an extra blanket, had the window open. It's supposed to get warmer day by day, especially next week.
Went to the local grocery store today, they had lots of good bargains on vegetables, plenty of zucchini, tomatoes, cantaloupe, brussel sprouts, green onions and salad bags were especially cheap, stocked up as best as I could. I wrap stuff up with paper towels, to keep it fresh longer.
Have a good night!
Doris
