    Good Morning Everyone,

Hope you all are doing fine and feel rested this morning...

All the talk of fresh veggies makes me want some green or yellow beans with ham and potato's.... LOL I have the small piece of ham in the freezer, just need the beans....LOL I bought corn on the cob at Giant Eagle on Friday and it was very good...I bought 8 ears and froze the corn we didn't eat for later or veggie soup....I missed the market this week because of company coming to the house, so I am extra anxious to go to the market this week....I love fresh red beets too and love them pickled...

My right knee isn't too good.. I have to rest for a week, put ice on the knee, three times a day for a half hour, take celebrex daily and hope the fluid goes out of the knee so that he won't  have to take a needle and draw the fluid out....Then on Monday, when I go back to see him and if the fluid is out, he will give me a shot of something....Maybe cortizone or something to put the fluid back in my knee...Like a synvisc shot or something on that order.....So I am listening to him and resting and doing light things as best I can....I think last week I twisted it working around the house, but had kinda forgot that I did that until Ron reminded me... I think I just turned on my knee wrong and the pain flew in....It is doubtful that I will go to Boscov's shopping on Saturday, which makes me want to cry as I love going shopping there...If I behave myself, the fluid will come out on its own and I won't have to have the fluid extracted...So I would be foolish not to heed his advice...LOL  (but I want to go shopping) LOL

Peggy, the wrap you described sounds like the kind of sandwich I would really go for too... Anything with tomato, lettuce and onion....yum....Hope those storms you are experiencing...stop....

Doris, safe travels down to the valley.. Hope you get all the things done that you need to do...How is your hubby doing??

Joyce, glad you enjoyed Maycee...bet you love all the smiles she puts on your face and heart...

Nancy, that is ashame about your corn crop and how dry you are in the mid west....I think we are to get dryer too from what I hear on the news....

Deb, your super sounded wonderful... I didn't get squash yet, but I am sure looking forward to eating some...I like the yellow squash mixed with zucchini....

Everyone else, I hope you are doing fine....I wonder if Marge saw all our birthday wishes we posted for her...I sure wish she could post once in awhile. I miss MIchelle too and the other DC friends we haven't heard from... Sandy too...

Good morning all. Nice cool night last night, different than last week, slept without the a/c. Eugene picked a drywall bucket more of green beans so I will freeze them this morning. I was supposed to clean a house this am but I cancelled until next week, just don't feel like it this am, lots of leg cramps for some reason...Eugene has gone out to breakfast with the group from his work a neighbor that worked with him picked him up. Well I am going to get my seafood fix tonight, I am going out for steamed crabs/shrimp/snow crab legs..Eugene and Dana are going to a benefit stock car race tonight and I hopefully am going out with friends, its a bit expensive at $39.99 but what the heck, its all you can eat at a local crab house...yum. Mary sorry about your knee, you better take to sitting around today or maybe for a couple of days, hopefully you will be able to go shopping Sat. if you rest it.  We got over an 1" of rain from the last storm on Sun. night so that will help out with the crops.  Hope all have a wonderful day..Peggy

Nancy – You and Russell certainly stay on the go.  But that's what keeps you young!  I thought the same thing with the A/C.  I didn't want it to get too warm so the A/C didn't have to work twice as hard.  You are welcome for the card.  I would rather be early than late.  I'm not good at the timing of the mail.

Deb – I saw on the weather this morning that we have a 50% chance of rain this week, so I'm hoping it does happen.  I read somewhere that some libraries now give the option of checking out a book for e-readers.  I haven't looked into it so I don't know how big the selection is, but you might look into that.  You sure had a busy day yesterday.  Your SIL is very lucky to have you in her life.  I need to replace my back door, but haven't done a thing about it.  What a yummy dinner you had last night.

Doris – You are right about the weather being so strange.  Sometimes I'll talk to my sis-in-law (they live about 15 minutes away) and it will be pouring here and nothing there or vice versa.  Very strange.  I sure hope you don't opt for THAT haircut.  LOL.  Safe travels today.  I hope the stitches come out okay.

Mary – I sure hope the fluid will drain on its own.  Do what the doctor says.  Boscov's will be there after you are better.  LOL.  But I know how you feel.  I take pictures of Maycee when she is here so I can look at them later.  She is so precious.

Peggy – I hope the cooler temps stay around for a while.  Enjoy your seafood tonight.  It sounds delicious.

Work was much quieter last night.  It was nice for a change.  There was work but not crazy like it has been.

Doris, I just had to chuckle at your comment about the heavy door and being a pain in the butt!!  It actually was a big pain in my forearms, and I am feeling it today!!LOL   Hope the Dr is on time so you can get back to cooler temps.  You will be all set with a hair cut, especially if it's not like the one Joyce posted!!LOL

Mary, sorry about your knee.  I've heard that having the fluid taken out with a needle is rather painful, so do what you have to this week to avoid that.   I don't buy corn on the cob at the grocery since the local is always so much better.  Unfortunately, the farm stand didn't have much yet in the way of produce, just the corn and some summer squash from their gardens, and some not locally grown tomatoes.  I did buy a couple of them, and they are sitting on the window ledge waiting to get fully ripe.

Peggy, I am not a big seafood fan, but your dinner will be wonderful and I hope you get to go.  How nice that Eugene is able to get out to breakfast with former co-workers.  Don't blame you for cancelling on the house cleaning-make sure the cramps go away.

Joyce, I'm glad work was quiet for you last night.  Living in the country, we don't get bans on watering, but I know alot of urban areas have the ban going on.  *we don't water what passes for our lawn anyway-way to big to try to water*.

Laundry is all done and even all put away-a very rare occurance for me.   I have some pork chops in the slow cooker and will whip up some stuffing to go with it for Danny and Sharons dinner.  Danny said he'll have cottage and peaches with it.  I also have a chicken breast simmering on the stove so tomorrow I can make them chicken and noodles for dinner.  We already figured out Thursday dinner and Friday will be fish and fries, Sat is always pizza, and that just leaves Sunday which I"ll worry about later!!LOL  I figured since it was a little cooler(only to be in the upper 80's for a couple of  days), I would try for better meals, so if it heats back up again, he can do the quicky ones.

Not looking forward to working today, but the extra money comes in handy when vacations roll around!

Waving to everyone else.  Have a great day.

    Hi, everyone.

Windows are open today------nice cool breeze coming in.

MARY, take care of the knee and follow the doc's directions. Our food stores have corn, but it comes from GA. We even bought some at Aldi's and it was good. I like cucumbers and enjoy cucumber sticks at mealtime. Russell likes to plant pole beans, but a bunny has been enjoying the vines, lately. So, a fence went up around that area.

PEGGY, it's our lunch time and I enjoying a wrap with turkey, cheese and lettuce. I also watch the ABC show on here at noon----The Chew. The dinner you will enjoy tonight has my mouth watering. We love the seafood you mentioned.

JOYCE, a quieter night at work sounds so good for you. No worries about rushing and getting projects done. Don't need that pressure or stress. We try to keep doing things so we keep our muscles going as we don't want to end up just sitting. And, the moving seems to help my arthritis. Have a few crooked fingers, but I keep on crocheting and knitting for finger exercise. Doors will be replaced here, soon. We were reading the ads from Menard's just the other day.

DEB, nice that you help your DSisIL. Guess new doors are on the agenda for several for us. Less humid days upon us, so I hope it makes work for you more bearable.

Safe travels, DORIS. Hope all goes well for DH. My DD is a Milwaukee Brewers fan. And, she is quite knowledgeable about the game, the team and lots of stats. I watch the games sometimes, but I am a big football fan. And, since DGS is an excellent soccer player, we watch some soccer games, too.

It's Tuesday and time for pistol competition at the Gun Club. I take a book to read in between collecting the money for the entrance fee.

    Hugs and prayers for all.

Hello folks, so, Nancy can finally open the doors and windows and get some fresh breezes in again, thankfully.    Does your daughter have those Brewers caps and clothes, my dh likes caps and tee shirts from his favorite teams, gives the kids something to get for him for holidays, at least.

When we lived in the bay area, (San Jose), they had water shortages, you could only water on odd or even days, and they even had crews that drove around to make sure you didn't water, or, if you had a leaky watering sprinkler or water just running down into the street, they would fine you!!   They do that down in Sacramento now, also.

Deb, I bought corn at our local store up here, but it came from way down in the valley, near Fresno or something like that, still have 2 ears left, for dh.   You have planned out your meals for the week well already.   We try to do that, dh likes to use up the leftovers more than I do.  Was lucky to have a quick run through at Costco, so picked up those grape tomatoes for me, blueberries for dh, bagged salad, they had a huge bag for $1.99, and needed walnuts.   Had an ice chest in the car, otherwise, couldn't have done that since it became over 100 degrees later on.    Mushrooms were cheap, too, wish I could grow mushrooms.     So your laundry is put away, took!!   Wish mine was.

Peggy, hope you enjoyed your seafood feast!!   My dh had calamari for lunch today, from a restaurant down in Chico.

Mary, I too hope you won't need the "needle" tune up, but getting rest is hard for you, you have 2 people to care for, and so forth, no sitting around on your throne.   My dh hates to sit and rest, what can people do, can't afford to hire help, like the celebs do, someone's gotta do that housework!    My dh hates dish washing most of all, he would just use paper forever if it came to that, lol.

Joyce, what would you do to replace a door, call someone to the house to measure it, and install it?   I wouldn't know a thing about doing it right, and it has to be measured carefully because the house may be unever.   Our patio glass door moves slowly, if we were staying here, we would replace it, but now we will let whomever moves here next deal with it.

It was over 100 down at the doctor's, we got the haircut, had to laugh, it was as short as when I first met dh, short hair and blonde, sort of funny, been wearing long for many years until a year ago.   I need to color it tomorrow, get the white/grey out of it for awhile again.    The doctor removed the facial stitches, but did put some special tape on it, they want to be careful about the scar.    dh has 2 more surgeries, in August and Sept.    Still has pain in the one on his scalp, they say that will hurt for awhile though.

We walked at the Mall, and wound up buying shoes, lol, at Pay Less shoe source.   Didn't intend to do that, either.

Hauke, are you having that heat wave now, and have fans on at the house?

Good Night, I need to make beds now!
