    Good Monday Morning Everyone,

Hope you all are doing well..I slept rather well last night and feel rested.. Today we celebrate Ron's birthday..I have to stop and get a cake at Giant Eagle for a little party and we will probably go out to eat somewhere to night too....I had him order something from Ebay that he wanted.. He wanted a radio for his birthday, so he picked out what he wanted and ordered it... I do have two shirts for him, but he doesn't get excited about clothes, like I would...LOL Hes getting a little hard to buy for as he orders things all the time off of Ebay or the net.. Packages seem to come daily for him...lol

Nancy, your cucumber salad is something I am going to have to make....It sure sounds good....I bet the salad is good on potato's too....

Peggy, your supper sounded good too...I can hardly wait for the tomato's to get ripe...Yard sales here are not that great either.. I can not get too excited about going to them..most of them are junky.....I did find a few nice this Friday and I love the crystal bowl I found too.... I made a pasta salad yesterday and used the bowl..It is like the perfect size for us....

I have an early morning doctor appointment....My knee is somewhat better, but it hurts my leg if I do too much walking...I have rested and done what the doctor said to do.. Ice works the best for pain relief as does the magnetic brace....I am hoping if he puts some fluid back into my knee, that will work for awhile anyway....See what happens today....

No fires here yesterday, as far as I know...DD ordered more motion detector lights with alarms on the net...We ordered one too and will hide it somewhere not too noticeable some where in the yard or near the house..... I guess an alarm goes off if the light detects motion......That should alert the neighborhood...LOL My daughter spent Saturday night sitting at the window watching the neighborhood, scared to death... I sure hope whoever is starting these fires, gets caught soon...People are really starting to get scared now...

Everyone take care and enjoy your Monday....

Good Monday to all. Going to be a hot week all days in the upper 90's..Mary tell Ron Happy Birthday for me and I hope you all enjoy his special day. Mary don't blame your daughter for being worried about the fire bug, I would be a nut case as I am a easy person to scare and I don't like being alone at night..Will do some wash this morning and sheets on the line, I need to clean the porch if I can with this heat, it needs sweeping and wiping off as the dust settles in there. Not sure whats for dinner but I am sure it will involve cucumbers...hope all have a wonderful day.  Peggy

Doris – How was the Beach Boys show?  Yesterday on "Sunday Morning" they interviewed the Beach Boys and I thought o you and DH.  Hope you had a great time.

Susan – You got some good things at the farmer's market.  I've never had buffalo meat before.

Deb – Your weather is like us, the rain moves around us, but doesn't hit us.  I'm glad the heat is keeping you busy at work.  The extra money is always good.  Tuna salad sounds good.  I haven't had that in a long time.

Nancy - Thank you for the recipe.  It sounds delicious.  I did buy a cucumber yesterday, but haven't done anything with it yet.  I better do that this morning.

Mary – Happy Birthday to Ron.  I hope you all have a nice time out tonight.  I'm interested to see what the doctor says about your knee.

Peggy – Have a load of laundry going myself.

Rosey – Be careful in the heat while you are making hay.

Maycee and I had fun last night.  Maggie couldn't make it for dinner though.  Since Maycee started potty training she hasn't had any accidents when she was with me.  But she did last night and then 5:00 this morning I woke up to a wet bed.
It is 10:30 and it is already 85 degrees.  UGH.

    Hi Everyone,

Well, I went to the doctor this morning and here is what he said.. I need an MRI, on my knee, which I will have tomorrow morning.... I might also need surgery or possibly  Arthroscopy...He is not sure how to treat it and wants to do the MRI so he knows how to treat my problem... I am a little nervous, but realize something has to be done.. That my knee is responding to treatment is a good sign and he thinks I might have torn the cartlidge...I did hurt my knee the other week.. I was in the kitchen and turned on it wrong and a huge pain flew in my knee.. I had to go sit down...I had forgotten I did that because we were busy with getting things done for the reunion, etc....But Ron remembered it and now I do too...I am so used to my knee hurting, I guess I didn't think more of it....Then again I might just need some fluid shots in my knee...I am hoping and praying I don't have to have a joint replacement...YUCK... I talked to my DD about Mom and that situation and to see if Mom could go into Silver Creek while I have surgery done and for recovery time.... Since Mom doesn't do anything to help herself too much, she is not a candidate for a personal care home and Beth can not give her special care in the home because she is her Grandmother....So, it might have to be a regular nursing home, Mom will have to go too...So I should know more later this week, what needs to be done...Always something...

    Hi, everyone.

Been kind of draggin' my wagon with the heat we have. I try to do my outside things early in the morning, but even then it's 80 degrees.

MARY, may the MRI and decisions be good for you. And, hopefully the least invasive or  gentlest treatment be the one that's needed. With mom by you, you always have extra planning to do. Happy B-day to Ron.

PEGGY, some washing done here, too. Plus, the basement is nice and cool. Our cucumbers are doing good, but just not ready to pick, yet.

ROSEY, I figured you were busy with haying. And, talking to a cousin in Fairchild, we know it's hot by you just like down here.

JOYCE, potty training is not always easy. But, sometimes fancy wundies are a big help. Rewards for a good job are a help, too. Stay cool.

    Hugs and prayers for all.

    Good evening all.

Whew!!  Another scorcher again today.  Worse for tomorrow, then a couple day cool off(into the 80's) then back to the nineties.  Will it ever end?

Mary, birthday wishes for Ron!  HOpe you had a good dinner out.   If you tore cartlidge, you would be better off with athroscopic surgery.  That's what I had done on my right knee 8 years ago, and for the most part, the knee does pretty well.  I had surgery on Tuesday, took Wed off, worked 4 hours on Thursday, 10 on Friday and 13 on Sat.  That was when I was at the golf course and had banquets to cook and serve for.  With the scope, there are only a few little holes to stitch up.  What ever the decision, you will have to do what is right for you, and your mom will just have to deal with it.

Waiting to find out from Doris about the Beach Boys concert, also.

Nancy, good for you doing your chores in the early part of the day.  Altho, low 70's isn't that cool, but certainly better than 90's.

Joyce, sounds like Maycee is doing a good job in the potty training area.  There will always be accidents.  Too bad that Maggie was unable to come visit.

Waving to Rosie as she breezes through.  Lots of haying going on around here.  One of my last tables last night was 4 high school boys who had just spent the day haying for the grandpa of 2 of them.  Man, they were tired and dirty, and 3 of them couldn't even finish their meal!!LOL

After swim this morning(and my did the pool feel wonderful) Danny and I headed to the bank, secretary of state and then our favorite deli for lunch.  Got home and laid down for a half hour nap, when Danny woke me up to tell me that Sharons' Dr appt had been cancelled until tomorrow.  Didn't break my heart, but it does crowd in my Tuesday.   Fixed salmon patties, mashed taters and peas for dinner.  Sure was tasty and didn't seem to heat up the house to bad.

Tomorrow is lunch with the gals, then Sharons follow up, dinner and laudry-joy!!!!LOL

    Later all.

Hi gang!  So Maycee is doing the old potty training gig, I can barely remember it, but we had the cutest little potty chair, lol.   Easy to empty out and so forth, haven't even looked or thought about our grandson having to do that though.    Hope the heat passes through quickly, Joyce, but it can't be helped, sigh.   Wish you would get good rain, so no watering duties.   We could use that also.

So you have laundry tomorrow, also, Deb, darned stuff piles up, no matter how few live there.   Sometimes I do hang things out now, but there is pollen blowing around, and bedding can't have that stuff on it for us allergy people here.

Nancy, how early do you and your hubby get up?   We get up early here, dh makes coffee before 6 AM, and I sidle out of bed around 6:15, so I can get his food cooking and ready by 7 AM, so he can take his shot.    You must have a routine with hubby, too, after all your years together!!

Mary, my dh had to have arthoscopy surgery on his left knee 33 yrs. ago, during the "old" days when they kept you in the hospital for several days.  I think now, it's out patient treatment, due to the wonders of small incisions and microsurgery.   But that is when dh got the exercise bike, the physical therapy required an hour at the therapists office 4 days a week, so dh suggested to the company he worked for, it would be cheaper for them to buy his an exercise bike to do exercise at home, so they bought him one.   And he has used it ever since, we replaced the original one over 10 years ago, but he still does it, to keep the knee strong.   Before the surgery, he used to just suddenly "fall down" while walking, so, it was necessary.    I use the bike to keep stamina up, and burn calories and get muscle power in the thighs.    I wish you didn't have to go up and down stairs often, that is hard on your knees, as hard as if you wore high heels all the time.   And treadmills are awful on knees, too.    I hope you learn more so you can make a good decision for your future, if you have pain all the time, you can't take care of everyone else at home, either.    As you say, always something!!!

dh still does not hear well out of that left ear, where they did the skin cancer surgery.   Will see how long he waits before having it looked at again.               The Beach Boys concert was terrific!!   It was their last concert in North America, they leave for Europe on Thursday.   It was "Fun Fun Fun", and so many people tried to dance in the aisles, they had to put a stop to it, and request them to go off to the side, it was becoming dangerous.    I found finding the restrooms the biggest challenge, they had those "Blue Rooms" way off in a forested area, and you had to hike awhile to get there.  Felt sorry for anyone pushing a wheel chair there, the ground was just forest ground, bumpy and people got stuck trying to take someone to the bathroom.   And the drinking, I didn't know so many older people drank that much, lol.    We don't drink, and our friends don't drink, so it was unusual for me to see that, some were not good on their feet walking around, either.     But the show was worth it, went on until 10:45.    Carnie Wilson also was there, singing with a group made up of the children of the Beach Boys.

Back to the routine tomorrow, dh has some yard work to do while it's cooler here, and I need to cut up brussel sprouts and cauliflower for the week.    I wish I enjoyed cucumber, but neither of us does, too bad, will have to stick to zucchini.

    Take care!

    Doris
