Hi, everyone.
Thank you for the birthday wishes. HAUKE's words are always "so fine". MARY is our cake queen. And, how lucky for me to have good friends here in the DC.
JOYCE, your card is in my "card parade" on the long coffee table that's along my front window. I can see how you miss Maycee when you don't see her at least once a week. You two are really developing a bond. That is so joyous to hear about.
SUSAN, boy, see what happened after the mechanic mentioned the rust and brake problem. Nice vehicle. That was a long time for you to be without a meal-----did you do OK?
MARY, good finds at the yard sales. Keep riding the cart if it helps with your knee.
Having a good day. Breakfast was a treat, IL DD called, she had to work today, and Laura just made lunch for all of us.
Hugs and prayers for all.
Nancy Z.
Happy Birthday Nancy, good to hear that you are enjoying this special day. Not much going on here today, I am tired from being out and about yesterday. We did buy on our journey yesterday 2 med size baskets of fresh lima beans, so I shelled those this morning and plan on cooking for dinner tonight, so it will be a vege. dinner. Susan, nice vehicle, I would have been ill from not eating...Mary, wish I was there for the yard sales, I could bring the truck by and pick you up for saleing....wouldn't that be fun.....Eugene has a Dr. appt tomorrow to check his levels and blood pressure and such, just the reg. Dr. Hope all have a great day...Peggy
Hi everyone.
I'm home from church - we had a small group as so many are off on vacation, but it was a wonderful time of worship and fellowship. I'm getting excited about church camp coming up at the end of the month. I really hope to get there for some of the time.
I was at the movies last night and as I waited for my "chick flick" to start my thoughts went the the movie theater in Denver.
The horror of week was fresh on my mind. I tried to envision what those folks went through ... I just couldn't. Instead, I chose to just spend the waiting time praying for the injured, the grieving families, the police, and the community as it tried to deal with it all.
I did also reflect on the thoughts of an account I had read yesterday afternoon. It was the account of a mom who had decided to go to the movie with her two teenage daughters. She wrote it in the aftermath ... in the hours when she just couldn't fall asleep.
Her writing spoke to my heart ... her account ... her experience ... her reactions ... her honesty!
If you haven't read Maries account - take a few minutes and read this mom's struggle and victory of the horror of Denver this week.

It's definitely worth the read.
Well, I'm going to grab my book ... and my fan since it's rather warm this afternoon ... and spend the afternoon reading and relaxing.
Hope you're having an amazing day Nancy.

The current weather in Edmonton, Alberta is
Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.
Glad Nancy had an enjoyable day today. Good thing Mary's and hauke's cakes are calorie free!
Susan, isn't it funny how we can wind up buying a new car, sort of unplanned and "out of the blue", we have done that several times in all the years we have been married too. My dh would have gotten sick from not eating, even though I carry protein bars in my purse, and walnuts.
Peggy, what a meal you guys had, lots of seafood, and fresh, good for you!
Mary, you seem to be so lucky to find nice yard sale items, I don't see many nice things like that, back when I used to go more often. I'm glad you used the electric cart, I thought that you had done that before, I've never tried it, either. Hope all the yard work got done, and you had fun with your daughter's family, too.
hauke, good for you for eating more veggies lately, my dh had his measured share of the potato salad that he wanted me to fix, but didn't ask for any today. I only fix about 3 to 4 cups of it. Do you have a Mall close by to walk at, with good A/C that is? Or a big store, that is something we plan to look for when we look at houses to move to this fall. We need a place to walk where the weather doesn't get in the way.
Joyce, hope you got to see Maycee today or have plans to see her. Yes, you are right about the job though, glad to have one. Especially if you get one with a retirement plan, many jobs now don't even offer that anymore. My son's place doesn't, he has to do that 401k thing, and so does his wife.
Off to go finish some kitchen chores, so I can relax a bit and read in bed. I always get sleepy and have to shut the light off so soon though.
Deb, how neat to have met your hubby at the Truck Stop, was he a driver?
