    Hi everyone!

It was an amazing day yesterday with 3 sessions with Chuck Pierce.  He was "on his way home" from a trip to Brazil and Hong Kong & China.  It was exciting to hear what God is doing in those countries ... especially the millions of believers in the "underground" church in China.

Well, this computer is EXTREMELY slow ... so I'm shutting down and heading to bed.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

    Good Morning Everyone,

Hauke, enjoy your weekend.. I am sure it will be a remarkable one for you....I hope you enjoy every minute of it...I decided to check to see if our post was started and there you were!!!

Yesterday, was the medical doctor visit, which went well...He was satisfied with all my tests results and gave me the clearance for surgery on the 13th...After the doctor visit, I was really "bad" and took myself to Peebles..I bought a couple pair of shorts, 4 to be exact, a new top and I bought a purse...As I was checking out I saw another pursue, not so big with a strap and I thought, that would be good for when I go somewhere and with the walker, I could hang that purse on my shoulder easily as it was not too big...So I went back and bought that too...Geesh...If I don't use the small purse, I will give it to one of my GD's...I have one of those thin wallets I could use in the purse and I just thought that kind of purse might work for awhile...Mom is a little better with going on Tuesday...She talks about it now and seems better...My daughter is coming over one day next week to help me organize the kitchen, so I can easily get the canned soups and find things for meals for when I come home.... I think we are doing the refrigerator and upstairs freezer too....From what I read, I won't be all that hungry for awhile, so I am sure soups would taste good... I like the light Progressive soups, like the chicken and dumpling or the Healthy request...I like good ol tomato soup too...I said to Ron, we can always order out...LOL

Speaking of tomato's, we are going to have a ton of tomato's.... I am so excited and can't wait to eat some....None of the tomato's are ripe yet, but the plants are huge and just loaded...We haven't  had tomato's like that in years or since the blight...

This morning is Walmart and then I think Ron wants to paint the garage door...He has been scrapping paint and wants to do some outside painting....

My daughter and family come home from their vacation today..We went to check Kitty and water plants late yesterday afternoon and then to the farm to buy some veggies... I love the cucumbers and thought if I had a few fresh veggies, I would feel more like cooking...When I am hungry, I think of all kinds of foods to make, but now, my mind is blank and I know I should be preparing some thing for when I come home from the hospital...

Wishing you ALL a GOOD Saturday and weekend...Hope you all are doing well...

    Love, Mary

    Happy Saturday All!

Kind of dreary here. Supposed to be around 92 with storms Lightning possible. Am hoping they hold off until Marty & Adam are done hauling stuff to the scrap yard from my FIL's house. They are using an open trailer so could get kind of messy.

MARY: Planning ahead for your surgery is a great idea. I knew far enough in advance before my shoulder surgery that I was able to do the same thing. Doubled up some meals & froze them. Made it easier on Marty the first week after my surgery. We would discuss what to put out in the morning, he would get it out of the freezer & then, when he got home from work, was quick to warm up. I've known a couple of people that had the same thing done that you are & they were prepared for the worst but were surprised that it wasn't as bad as anticipated. Know that you will be in my thoughts & prayers the entire time!

ALL OF MY DC FRIENDS: I pray that everyone is well, happy & staying as cool as possible!

TODAY, my plans are to get grocery shopping done. Am also planning on stopping at our favorite farm market for veggies. We also discovered a snack that is low carb, lower sodium & fat there. The brand is 'Sensible Portions'. We got the veggie straws which are made from potato, spinach & tomato. They also make apple chips & veggie chips. With the veggie straws 38 straws are only 11 carbs, 250 g sodium, 9 total fat grams & 0 g cholesterol. No they're not fat free but are a better alternative to potato chips or other salty snacks. I rarely eat 38 straws so am not too worried about the sodium & fat content. Usually I grab 5 or 6 when I'm wanting something salty. Marty is the main reason we bought them as he loves chips & crackers so these are better than most. I want to try the apple to see how they taste.

Better get off of here. It's 9 a.m. already & I haven't even gotten in the shower yet. Have a blessed day all!

Hauke – Don't know if you will see this, but I hopee you have a great time at the "retreat".  Just getting away will be nice but I'm sure the speakers you hear will soothe your soul also.

Deb – A couple of years ago it was really hot while the fair was going on and it really did drop the attendance numbers.  We are to be hot today, but rain is coming in tonight and that will cool us off a teeny bit.  I hope your customer does good with the food stand.  CF will really appreciate his efforts.  I'm sure the fair will take a lot of your business.  I hope you are busy though.

Peggy – The errands kept you busy yesterday.  I hope you can stay home and rest today.  Your fresh fish dinner sounds delicious.

Nancy – They are concerned about the animals at our state fair, too.  They have said they may cut the animal showings to fewer days.  I’m sure VBS will keep you very busy next week.  Sounds like a lot of fun.  You said football … are there exhibition games already?  It sure got here quick.

Mary – It sounds like everything is falling into place for you and I'm glad to hear your mother seems to be used to the idea of the nursing home.  I really do think she will like it once she gets there and gets to meet some more of the people.

Susan – I hope the rain does hold off until Marty and Adam are done.  I've seen those veggie straws before.  I think they are by the same company that makes these parmesan veggie chips.  I haven't had them in a while, but they are very good also.

I'm at work and it is pretty quiet so far.

I will have Maycee tonight.  I am meeting her grandma after I get off work and we will all have dinner together.
As I drove into work, in Indy, there were puddles all over the place.  I guess it rained at some point, but I don't think it did at my house.  There were no puddles and I didn't think to check the rain gauge.  We are to have storms tonight.

    Hi, everyone.

HAUKE, glad the weekend started out so well. Inspiring speakers can really get our juices flowing. The learning experiences are always so valuable.

MARY, you are very good at being prepared for what you have coming up. I know SUSAN did the same thing. And, I bet the change for mom will give her a different perspective and maybe get her to do a little more for herself. Seeing others do things may help her. Ron will be a big help, too. BTW, Russell and I don't wash clothes the same way either. But, he's learning. We have a cucumber plant and a pickle plant. Getting lots of produce from both. Same for our three tomato plants. We are sharing with the neighbors.

SUSAN, hope Marty and Adam did OK hauling "stuff". I tried some veggie chips, but did not like them. I will look for the veggie straws, they could be a bit different. Today we rode to Gander Mountain's Gun World in Germantown, WI----another new toy for Russell.

JOYCE, a quiet day at work for you, sounds real good. You can take it easy with no rushing. I looked at radar and we may finally get rain. One of the grannies in MN just reported big rains. And the storm line is from middle MN way down to Peoria, IL. Hoping it all continues in a nice easterly direction. Enjoy the meal with Maycee.

    Hugs and prayers for all.

Mary, I wish I could have some of your tomatoes!   You are lucky to have nice produce coming out of there.    Sounds like you have your "stuff" ready to go, my goodness, you are sure a shopper, lol.    I wish we had all the access to clothing stores that you have.   I just bought a purse/tote bag type of thing, but it is not really "right" either, once I got it home.

Joyce, bet you have already put Maycee to bed by now.

Nancy, hope you get some moisture your way.  So many places need a ton of rain, but not all at once.      So you get to go to Germantown, we had distant relatives there from years ago, people who settled there from Germany, actually.

hauke, enjoy your "camp", hope you have time to really "camp" and hike outdoors, breathe fresh air and do outdoorsy stuff.    Do they have a campfire in the evening, with wienie roasts and singing and fellowship?

Susan, we bought those kinds of chips/bites at Costco too, dh noticed the inulin in there seems to make his sugars jump high, but they weren't bad, he liked the zesty salsa ones the best.   Easy to take those bags along when you go somewhere and need a quick bite.   I like the 100 calorie bags of "whatever" too.

Need to go make the beds, lol.   Did alot of time on the bike today, there were 4 soccer games on from the Olympics.

    Good Night folks.

    Good Morning Everyone,

Hope you all enjoyed a good nights sleep and that your weekend, is a good one...No rain here yesterday, but boy, were we hot...Ron wanted to scrape paint on the garage door and fix the roller on the garage door opener and he just had to stop working in the afternoon because it was just too hot...He did get the roller on the garage door taken care of and then he mowed the yard....I did do some wash and odds and ends as the leg allowed...

Nancy, I made your recipe for the cucumber salad last night for supper.. I enjoy cucumber salad so much and your recipe is a keeper...I love the creamy sour taste...I hope you got some of that much needed rain....

Susan, I think I bought veggie chips once or twice and liked them...They will have me up out of bed by Tuesday and then my work begins....I will have surgical pain, not arthritis...the arthritis in that leg will be gone....Yeah... I think the first couple days or first week will be the roughest.. Learning to get around on the walker and remembering not to get up and walk away...LOL Prayers to you too for good results from your MRI....

Doris, our department store in this area is, Peebles... I just love that store because it has a little better clothes and they have sales all the time...The bigger purse I got, is to use when I am walking freely again.. I bought it because I just liked the color...The other little purse I can hang on me when I walk with the walker and if we go to the store or something...Its small and I can take it with me easily...I was a little mad at myself for the splurge, but what the heck...LOL

Joyce, how was your time with Maycee?? Did you get to go to the fair?? I bet you were well entertained all weekend with the little cutie...

Hauke, I am glad you are enjoying your weekend!!

I talked with Mattie again this week and that little girl sure puts a smile on my face...She reminds me so much of my son when he was young.. Matt said she is so naughty and doesn't listen and pests constantly when he was trying to close the deal on a truck he was buying.....LOL  Mattie is 6 years old already and talks like a child 10 or 12...very grown up....My other daughter and family are home from vacation at Dollywood.. I guess they loved it in Tennesse and had a great time....

Ron is traveling North this morning to look at a tractor with his cousin...So I am hoping to get a few things accomplished here at home....I would like to do some cleaning and of course the laundry....I put some turkey in the crock pot for supper or late dinner.....Not sure what I will make with that....I am hoping next week after we get Mom all moved in the home to get busy and prepare some things to freeze......I will get frozen things, but they are not like home made food...I think the problem is I am not really hungry for anything, so it is hard for me to think of what to make.... I do like chili, so I might make up a batch of that.....I am happy with my yogurt and half a sandwich or something light like that, but Ron likes cooked meals... I did by some of those canned potato's...A meal of eggs could be whipped up pretty quick using them.... I bought several cans of sardines to eat with crackers and a lot of tuna...I bought some tomato soup, Progresso Light chicken and dumpling and I think there are some cans of bean soup in the basement....Next week, I will buy the frozen things and move what is upstairs in the freezer downstairs....

The plan is to take Mom first thing to the home Tuesday...Beth has to do her med list and all the admitting, so she wants Mom there early to get that done....Tomorrow will be spent packing and hoping Mom doesn't get herself all worked up.....Ron and I will have a few days before the operation for us to do things, get the house in order and maybe go for a treat or something...

    Have a good Sunday....

    Morning All!

Hot & rainy here already today. And it's only 7:30 a.m.! Supposed to storm Lightning off & on all day. Don't plan on going out too much today so I'm fine with that!

NANCY: Didn't know Gander Mountain had a 'Gun World' store. If I tell Marty that, I could almost guess where our next vacation could be! Wink There's a store about an hour from us, Blackwing Shooting Center, that ends up costing a lot whenever we go there. Do like their indoor handgun range so don't mind sometimes.

DORIS: Not sure if this brand of veggie straws is more local or not. I know around our area they can only be found at the farm market I go to & at Meijer. I've not had problems with them raising my BG but I rarely eat more than a few at a time. Did try the cinnamon apple straws & really liked those. It is really important with those to watch amounts because they have a slightly higher carb & fat count.

JOYCE: I hope you had a good time with Maycee & that work wasn't too bad yesterday!

HAUKE: Glad you are enjoying your weekend!

MARY: Maybe if you keep stressing to your mom that her stay in the 'home' is only temporary & it's to help you she will not get too worked up. Huh? I'm sure she will calm down once she's settled in. When I was planning for my shoulder surgery I froze a meatloaf, 8x8 pan of lasagna, a chicken noodle casserole, chili & veggie soup. Also made sure I picked up sandwich stuff right before & had veggies prepped for easy grabbing or throwing together salads. I'm lucky in the fact that Marty has some limited cooking abilities & makes some awesome eggs. I will pray that everthing goes well this week for you.

DEB: Hope all is well with you!

    REST OF DC: God Bless!

WELL, my plans for the day are laundry, sweeper & prep work in the kitchen. Not sure what the week will bring so want to have as little to do as possible.

Getting off of here to get busy. Have a blessed day all!

Susan, you really planned ahead with the food for your surgery...I don't think Ron is that handy in the kitchen....I think tomorrow, for supper, I am going to make a goulash, and freeze the leftovers....I guess if I picked up one of those chickens in the store, I could quickly assemble a chicken casserole or two....I have turkey in the crock pot now and plan to make some soup with the broth or something with the turkey...Mom is better with the move to Silver Creek and will now talk about it to me....I think shes afraid I will leave her there forever and that is not the plan...But I have to take care of myself too..I am switching out cupboards this morning and trying to move the canned foods within easier reach.... My daughter is coming some time this week to help me with that too... I will be glad when this is over...LOL

Hope you all are doing well...

    Back to Work...LOL

Nancy – I didn't know there was a separate kind of cucumber for pickling.  I thought you could use any cucumber for pickles.  I've learned something new today.  Yes, we did get some rain.  I was so glad.  And I had a very good dinner with Maycee.  Of course, she didn't eat much.

Doris – I think I was ready to go to sleep before Maycee last night.  There was a little fuss, but she finally did go down.

Mary – I made the chicken/cheese crescent rolls ups.  They were very good.  I gave the recipe to my sister to try.  Yes, I still have Maycee.  I picked her up about 4:30 last evening.  She heard the storm last night and said she was scared.  So I just held her.  She went back to sleep.  I'm hoping to go the fair on Tuesday.  I make a turkey breast in the crock pot.  It comes out so moist.  You are getting everything ready for your hospital stay.  Good for you.

Susan- I don't think we are to have any more rain today.  Work wasn't too bad.  I've got a load of laundry going too.

Some rain came through yesterday afternoon.  I had about 1/3" of rain in the gauge.  Then storms came through about 5:00 this morning and we got about another inch.  Thank you, God.  We've all been praying for the rain.  We need more, but I am happy we got this much.
We did get some work in yesterday so the morning went by pretty fast.  It was a good day.
Maycee wanted me to put a smiley face in. Big Smile

    Good afternoon all.

Mary, you are certainly getting yourself all ready for the replacement.  Glad your mom is more acceptance of her stay at the home.  I bet your turkey will be good tonight.  I have been hungry for turkey, so maybe this week I'll buy one of the turkey breasts.  Lots of good meals with one buy.

Joyce, how cut that Maycee wanted a smiley face!  Glad you got "some" rain.  We got alittle again last evening.  Don't know about over night.  We are finally starting to see more green in the yard.  May even have to mow this week.

Susan,  prayers that the results of the MRI are not the worst.  Danny is a good cook, but with his neuropathy, he has trouble standing long enough to fix a complete meal.  Hope you get your do-to list done.

Doris,  are you enjoying the olympics?  Gives you lots of time on the bike.  I bought a few tomatoes at the farm stand last week, and they were so good.  They were Michigan tomatoes, but this week, I should be able to buy locally grown ones.  Had alot of bacon and tomato sandwiches this past week.

Nancy, I've never been to a Gander Mountain store.  If it's similar Cabelas, I know I would enjoy wandering through it.  Have fun with the kids this week at VBS.

Peggy, hopefully, you can get back to just one booth and maybe things will start selling.  You are getting so much good produce from your garden.

Work has been very good this week, so I hope it continues today, but the county fair also starts today.  Tomorrow is meeting day at work and then the normal day off chores.

    Have a good day all.

Good afternoon everyone. With all this talk of turkey I am hungry for it now..I have a breast in the freezer and will probably cook this week if it cools down a bit. Susan hope everything works out well with the MRI. Deb, we love tomatoes too, and especially blt's..yum. We have a Gander Mt. store nearby, its nice but pricey, we only order from Cabelas. I sold a few other things at the booths, I am bring as much as I can out of the booth I want to get rid of and putting in the one I am keeping,,,boy I sure have a ton of stuff in all of them..Joyce, I know you are enjoying Maycee, love the smiley face, we got rain in alot of diff. towns nearby and right down the road but none here. Yesterday we yard saled some, not much out there as its just too hot, went to a steam engine show as they had a large flea mkt open, bought nothing, then on to a farmers market, got some cukes as ours are done and I bought a scone, never had one before, it was good, cranberry/walnut, Eugene would not try it...men....then we went to the casino, I won on a spinner machine $446.00, but I was using Eugenes money he had as mine was all gone as usual, he gave me half...he ended up winning over $500 his self, we left with gingles in our pockets and then out for a nice dinner. Bought some banana peppers today, they were so pretty, yellow/green/peach/red,,the reds were hot, I split and took out seeds and fried with a bit of oil then poured some vinegar over after they were fork tender, yummy on a sandwich..Squash for dinner with some cube steak and sliced tomatoes...Hope all have a nice evening...See Mary is all prepared for the hospital stay, glad mom is accepting of the situation....Peggy

Hello everyone! Hauke thank you for the card. I am still alive honestly. We had a big storm June 29th, biggest outages in our company's history and we are on mandatory overtime until at least October. We are working many days in a row, working days off and I am just exhausted! There have been a few other strong storms since in the states we serve so work-load is only increasing.

I am definitely engaged, and co-habitating right now...had planned a wedding end of June but work took over everything, so just trying to find time for it. One of Johns kids is here and is 3 weeks older than Paige and all is good in the family way. Paige's brothers like having a new uncle but can't understand Paige suddenly having another brother, lol.

I miss you all and think of you more than you know.

My schedule rotates the days but I do normally 4 tens 6 A to 4:30P(two weekends on and two off) when not all this OT. I'll do my best to check in now and again.

    I love you all,

    Hi, everyone.

A nice cooler, breezy day for us.

Been busy at church getting ready for VBS. I get a little rest now before I have to go back. The kids learn songs and have a small gathering before they come to the Marketplace. After teaching the music, Laura is running the Music Store and I will help there.

MARY, with fresh cucumbers, I make that dish a lot right now. May all go well for you and mom during this coming week.

SUSAN, Gun World was a Gander Mountain store, but a very small one in this area. There is a bigger one in Waukesha and Cabela's is just a bit north of Gun World. I would say that's the reason for the change. And, with WI's carry law in effect now, gun sales have risen.

JOYCE, that rain deserted us and the biggest part of the storm went to Chicago. I like the Smiley face from Maycee.

DEB, Gander Mountain is like Cabela's-----not as much merchandise or as many depts. Hope work is good again this week plus there will be cooler days, too.

DORIS, Germantown is in the northern part of my county. We go there for some shopping and a couple of restaurants.

Feeding Russell early so I can get to VBS. This will go on all week.

    Hugs and prayers for all.
