The current weather in Edmonton, Alberta is
Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.
Good Morning Everyone,
I couldn't sleep anymore, so I decided I might as well get up, have some coffee and see what everyone is up to...I had been sleeping off an on since about 9 PM, so I slept fairly long...
No PT for today, so we might try to get some cleaning done...I have a lot of laundry to do too, so hopefully, some of that will get done too....Ron is always happy when there are no tomato's to take care of..LOL
Deb, glad Sharon's surgery went well for her.. Beef stew sounds good... I just saved a recipe from Pinterest for a beef stew...That is a good fall meal and very filling...
Peggy, if you lived closer, I would have you come to clean my house...We need to do a good cleaning.. I have been thinking of asking this girl down the road from me to come and do some cleaning in the living room and kitchen, especially... So sorry about Dana's cat....Losing a pet is a hard pill to swollow...
Nancy, glad the transactions went well for you...I sure know what you mean about worrying that something didn't go right....
Good Morning, Hauke, how are things with you.. How is the diet coming along??? I will have to check into IChange again in the near future.... I am eating better than I was before, so it is time to start watching again...
Joyce, I sure hope you get to see Maycee over the weekend or sometime soon...You have gotten so close to her and she to you....
I went to see Mom yesterday morning while Ron went to the hospital... I took Beth a nice peach too...Those peaches are to die for...so good and juicy....Mom liked her treats and we had a nice visit..Mom was sleeping when I walked in the room, but Beth says she sleeps a lot then can not sleep at night...We saw pictures on how they are going to do the remodeling and the color scheme...It is all going to be very pretty and it seems like they are adding more color....Beth said Mom will not even know they started working in the building, till it is time for them to do her room.... I sorta had to laugh because Mom and some of those other people don't miss a thing...LOL Mom is happy with her meals, but some of the other residents are having a meeting about the food and how terrible it is....Mom's food is good and they serve a big variety with choices....It is hard to please 60 plus people no matter what you serve...
Ron and I went to supper last night at our local restaurant... I didn't feel like cooking much of anything or eating, but he has to eat and I feel it is the least I can do for him is to treat him....He helps me so much...PT yesterday was rough and painful...I had a new therapist, who really worked me over good...I did feel better afterwards though... I decided I have to get even more serious about the exercises and intend to step it up a bit here at home...I am sure Medicare will pay for another 4 weeks of PT, if the doctor orders it and I want to do 4 more weeks....I can almost get the bike peddling around full circle now..I think there will be tears of joy when I accomplish that...
Everyone take care and enjoy your day...
Nancy – I'm glad you got the business all taken care of yesterday. Sounds like the guys will be eating good at the trailer. I'm pretty sure Libby will let me see Maycee. I think I'm going to tell her I would like to see her every Sunday at some point.Deb – You had very strange weather yesterday. I hope it is all settled today. Funny how food always tastes much better when we don't have to prepare it! Yes, I do love having my fall decorations out but I'm just having trouble finding the time to do it. They are at the storage unit. I'm hoping to do it this weekend.Mary – The cleaning may be as much exercise as PT. But don't overdo things. It sounds like your mom is doing well, but I'm sure she does miss being home. Hopefully she understands you need to be totally healed and concentrate on getting yourself better. I'm glad you got to go out last night. We are having a pitch-in tomorrow at work so I had to go to the store this morning to get the things I needed. I also think I'm going to bring in that buffalo chicken dip today. She had mentioned she liked it but nobody said they would bring it.
Wow, we had a cold temp overnight, 34 degrees. I put my hibiscus in my garden cart and pulled it into the garage for overnight. It has warmed up a little but definitely it is fall like.
MARY, good thing Beth knows what is going on at the home and can keep mom calm about things. I'm thinking a day rest from your therapy may be a good idea. And, how good to hear each day is another step in the right direction and doing more than the day before. Ron wants the best for you and his helping or taking you out for a meal is wonderful.
JOYCE, good idea to settle a day to see Maycee. And, then Libby can plan for activities, too. Yes, the boys eat well. Russell brought cans of apple pie filling from Aldi's and he said the pie was so good. He wants another one for the next hunting time. When the three brothers hunt together, they each bring a pie for dessert. I change the pie each year, but the other two usually bring the same one. I can see where getting to your storage unit takes a bit more time for you to get your stored items. Love the "pitch in". When we have a pot luck, I tell everyone about your words for the hot dish.
DEB, we went thru that goofy weather, too. Rain, clouds, sun, warm and overnight, almost freezing. Boy, Danny and Russell both like to cook. We lucky souls, aren't we?
PEGGY, thinking you could help me with cleaning, too. I don't reach high stuff anymore and if I get down on the floor, I have a heck of a time getting up. Best of all, we could sit and talk and drink coffee. Any new ideas for your craft corner?
HAUKE, so what's with the twisted hours. I am finding myself staying up 'til I get really sleepy. For me that means a better night.
Been home this morning and found more chilren's story books to donate to the library for their resale event. So, today I didn't miss Russell's phone call. Cold where they are, too. So, I would imagine ROSEY may have had freezing temp where she lives. Laura has choir tonight so she goes there right from work. We both eat a light meal on this day.
Hugs and prayers for all.
Good afternoon all. A beautiful fall day here, tons of rain last night, just buckets of it. Went to the local thrift store today and took a load for them to sell. They were so happy as most of it will stay within the community. My oldest sister came over this am and brought me a couple of happy pills for tomorrow, she knows how scared I am for the surgery tomorrow morning, I will take one before I leave, I have had them before so they will work fine. My neighbor is taking me and hopes to stay with me during the procedure..we hope. Went to the bank and Walmart for a couple of lunch items, lunch is a problem around here as Eugene does not care for lunch meats, so we got some bread sticks and couple of tv dinners for later on this week. We tend to go out for lunch alot..planning on going uptown to the farmers market this afternoon, it starts at 3 until 7 hopefully they will have some winter squash, I love them. Eugene has been working on a dark walnut stand with a marble top, it's bowed in the back for some reason and he hopes to get the bow out...we will see. Hope all are doing well..Peggy
Peggy, you are in my prayers. Do you have any idea how long you'll be in the hospital?
Peggy, I'm sending strong thoughts and prayers for calm tomorrow, so you get through the surgery and it all goes smoothly for you!
Mary, I'm so very glad your knee is improving so nicely now! Glad you got a chance to get some dinner and no cooking and cleaning, the cleaning is so boring, lol. I'm getting ready in here now to wash dishes, just trying to make sure the lap top updates itself before we go away, it is my entertainment in the motel at night, while dh watches tv. Reading makes me want to sleep too much.
Joyce, sounds like a nice Pot Luck at work, a good chance to have some enjoyment with the other co-workers.
Deb, how are you getting along, did you swim some more? More than last week, I mean.
Nancy, you sure keep your hubby well fed, boy, nice pie, lol, my dh wishes he could eat pies like he used to, he loves berry pies the most, but can't have any except now and then, and then needs to use more insulin, of course.
Waving at hauke, did you have a good or interesting weight challenge meeting yesterday? Do you guys go out and walk at least? What does that leader tell you about eating?
I need to cut up strawberries for dh for his evening snack. We have spent 2 days on the road with appts., and getting the car fixed up for travel. Tomorrow and Friday will be on the road to different doctors about different things, and need to get banking done, so that our card won't get stopped suddenly because we are using at at motels and stuff often.
Take care, folks.
Peggy, sending lots of thoughts and prayers your way.... I am sure, all will go well.... Mom takes a mild nerve pill, so I have an idea what the "happy pill" is that you are taking...It does help, alot....((((Peggy))))
Good day here...I put some summer things away and cleared off the bed in the spare room... I have more to get out, but didn't want to pester Ron too much...LOL Tomorrow's another day...
Hauke, I have to be there at 8:45 tomorrow morning, I think they said I should be done in an hour or so, I am not being put completely out, just a local by means of a needle..thanks for your prayers and all the other ladies too...I will check in when I can tomorrow...Love to all..Peggy
Thanks Peggy for giving us the "times". That way we'll know how to pray with some intelligence.
FYI - just in case you're wondering what I'm up to tonight - well, just remember - it's finale night on Big Brother. I don't think you have to imagine too hard where I'll be and what I'll be doing.
See you after I see who wins.
