Meet and Greet Room

Hello, my name is Donna. I live in Northeast PA, the Poconos. We moved from Long Island, New York, which I loved, but cost of living was through the roof!! I am 62 years old with high b/p, thyroid problems , among some other minor things. My husband and I were both diagnosed with diabetes, me just three years ago when we moved here. I was doing ok at first but now have to take a double dose of Metformin. Since it runs in the family quite a bit, I have been able to get my adult son, 26 years old, to change a few things about his life in order for him to stay healthy. He's doing great, now he has to preach to his mother! I also have a daughter and another adult son. I did very good today with my eating and hope I can continue with help from family and friends. I will be looking for recipes and meal planning advice.

Hi, Donna, nice to meet you. I have copied your introduction and put it on the group Meet & Greet. I hope you don't mind. I hope you will come visit on our daily thread and feel free to ask any questions you may have. There is a lot to learn to be able to control this disease but you can do it.
