    So ...

who watched the guy who walked over Niagara Falls last night?

A friend happened to call me and tell me it was on live!  What a feat.

The images of falls were so pretty - but I can't imagine walking in the sky like that!

    Good Morning All!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY weekend to all the dads! Big Smile May God bless you with many more!

Was a long, busy week here. Last Sunday my car got dropped off at the dealership again. Took until yesterday for them to figure out what this problem was & fix it. This time was a bad sensor on the new transmission. Picked it up last night & it runs great. Marty has decided, though, that we are going today to the dealership we normally go to & look into the possibility of trading. He's concerned that there will be additional electrical problems coming up now.

After we dropped the car off last Sunday we went on to Columbus (dealership is right on the way) to Dick's. Both of us were in need of new shoes. Well........each of us got a pair of New Balance running shoes for $39.99 each. Really a good price. Then........I talked Marty into buying me a Livestrong Elliptical. Took us two days to put it together then, I was too sick to use it. Ended up with the same virus that Adam & Rachel got.

Have used it a couple of times & am convinced there is someone somewhere, that was the designer of these, laughing really hard thinking of all those who are using them. WOW are they hard work. I'm determined though to get myself back into shape & have wanted one for a long time. Tried one several years ago & loved it. I'm so out of shape right now, due to not getting a lot of exercise since my shoulder surgery then broken foot, that I can't even go 10 mins. without stopping. Embarrassed I will do it though!

Today, I guess, we'll be looking at new vehicles. I bought this one, it's a 2011 Ford Escape, because my mom could get in & out of it. I like it but really, really hated trading my truck in. When I bought that truck it was me. Never thought I would actually cry over trading a vehicle in until that truck.

Mom has only been in the Escape twice. She always has an excuse to not even go out of the house. I don't have to transport her to medical appointments because she has transportation provided thru a Medicaid program she is under. So, decided, I will be looking at trucks again. If I buy another I will get running boards put on because mom could get into one with them, if she would try that is. I've reached the point that, if she doesn't care neither should I. Please don't take this wrong, I'm not a cold person. If you really knew the history I have with my mother you would understand better. I've never been good enough nor able to do anything that really seemed to please her. Now, with the dementia coming on, it's worse. And, no, she isn't elderly either. She just turned 68! Guess I'm tired of trying to be everything to everyone & no one really caring!

Ok, enough of  that. Better get off of here & get the house straightened up & dishwasher loaded before we go anywhere. Have a wonderful day all!

    Good Morning Everyone,

Hope you all had a good nights rest.. I did..I just got up and am running late now, but oh well...LOL I still need to get Mom up and ready, but I need my coffee first....(and computer time) LOL

Hauke, I watched the guy walk over the Falls last night...I remember his family from years ago, like when I was a child and his great grandfather falling off the wire walking from building to building and then his fatal fall......I was always intrigued with the Wallinda family (sp) and was anxious to see Nick walk the falls....Nerves and guts of steel...Wow...That was really something last night and the crowds of people there to watch him....outstanding...I remember too, as a child, hearing about the six or seven person pyramid falling off the wire while performing....Two family members killed and others hurt badly.....Quite an interesting family... I am glad Nice made his walk safely as I didn't want to see him fall and get killed....He said his next walk will be across the Grand Canyon....Wow....That walk would not be for me at all.... I am afraid of heights....LOL

Good Morning Susan....Good luck in trading you vehicle.. I don't blame you at all for doing something like that....I hope you get a good deal and get your truck....I sorta had the same situation with Mom when we traded the car and got a van....Ron made step stools, so she could easily get in the van and SUV.. I would get another van in a heart beat or SUV rather than a car, which sits so low on the road... I like the feeling of being able to see out and around me....

I have to get moving and get Mom up... I slept till past 6:30 AM and we have all that shopping and Walmart things to do today... I was going to go to the store yesterday, but got side lined with Ron making an appointment to get the SUV inspected, that I decided not to go to town, but to clean the spare room....I worked all morning in that room, putting things away and cleaning really good...I finally got the new bed spread and dust ruffle on the bed that I bought for that room a year ago...LOL I got the bed spread, new, at a yard sale...It was never taken out of the packaging... The dust ruffle, I sent for..It is all elastic and fits on the bed without having to take off the mattress..It is neat to put on and works like a charm....

     Have a good day everyone....

    Mary

Mary, you have more guts than the Wellenda dude, because you go to Wal Mart on a Saturday morning, and before a day like Father's Day, especially.   I firmly believe that!!

Susan, what a tale of woe, hope they trade that car in for another that is better for you.

Hello hauke, hoping you are doing fine today.

We are doing the usual, and glad to be doing that, exercise bike and so forth.   dh is anxious to hear from the doctor next week about his skin issues, so hard to coax a good mood out of him.

Take care, folks.   Waving at everyone!

Doris – I hop Maycee will like the picnic table.  I did get it together without too much trouble.  I couldn't tighten some of the nuts all the way so I will her dad check them all.  I hope your butt isn't too sore from all the riding yesterday.

Peggy – I hope you got some good things at the yard sales today.

Hauke – I didn't get to see the guy go across Niagara Falls live, but I did see parts of it on Nightline last night.  How amazing.  What a view he had.

Susan – I sure hope the car dealership does something to help.  I'm with Marty, I tend to think you will have more problems.  Enjoy the elliptical.

Mary – The spare bedroom kept you busy, but I bet it looks really nice now.

It is sunny and hot here.
I had to work today.  I was thinking we'd have some down time and I could post from there, but there wasn't down time.  At least the day flew by.

Good evening all. Beautiful weather here today, nice and cool and cool this evening also. Yard sales were not that great, only got a few things, an old sled a couple of figurines and I bought myself a patritoc red/white/blue twin quilt & matching pillow, was very reasonable and I will used either on the porch or on the front porch as a decoration, I usually throw over an old rocker, looks cute. Joyce, bet big fun will be had with the picnic table. Got to see on the new the guy go across Niagra falls, I would have fell in with the view and height alone. Susan here is hoping the dealership will work with you on the vehicle. Bet Mary is tired from her cleaning, but it will look nice and thats your reward...Not much on tap for tomorrow, got my spaghetti sauce and meatballs done for Monday, I am having a couple over to celebrate their 50th wedding anniv. so all I will have to do Mon. is the salad and bread, tomorrow I am making a cake...hope all have a wonderful evening and Sunday...Peggy

    Good Morning Everyone,

Peggy, our yard sales haven't been too great here either...Yesterday, Ron bought a hutch top at a yard sale for $10..He wanted to hang it on the wall in the basement and use as a cabinet to store his train gear....For $10, it was a nice deal and a huge cabinet...Secretly, wish I could use it for dishes and things I don't use too often to get some of the kitchen more uncluttered, but the cabinet is for trains and his toys...He does need a place to store the small pieces and his paints, etc....He now has a nice work area....I bet the quilt and pillow you found at the yard sale is nice and will look nice as a decoration over the 4th of July....

Joyce, Maycee will love the picnic table...Kids like their own area to put things and to sit and eat....I had bought a small table and chairs when my GD's were small and it was used every time they visited..Guess you are glad to be home from work...

Susan, how did you make out at the dealership...I hope everything went in your favor...There is talk of getting an elliptical at the fitness center and everyone is hoping this happens...

Doris, my DD and her hubby left Reno yesterday to come home...They had a wonderful trip and just loved the area...She told me they took over 500 pictures!! LOL Their flight home went well and I know they will be glad to see Michelle, who came home from Disney, on Friday....They will need a vacation to rest up from the vacation....

We are supposed to be sunny and hot today. Not sure what we will do for Father's Day... I bought steaks to grill, but I thought maybe Ron would like to go out to eat for breakfast  and a ride...

Everyone take care and enjoy your Sunday....

    Good Morning All!

Yesterday was beautiful. Hot but low humidity so was bearable. Today is supposed to get up to 86 & be sunny but not sure if it's to be humid.

Our trip to the dealership did not go as well as we hoped. They tried everything but just couldn't get the payment down to where I was comfortable. However, the sales manager we were working with suggested I call Ford directly to discuss what happened & how I feel about driving the car. He said for me to mention that we've bought 15 Fords since 1993. He has seen, in similar situations, Ford give a customer trade-in assistance that totalled $5000+!  So, I called on the way out of Columbus. We now have a case number with the company & a rep from a specialized department is supposed to call me within 1-2 business days. There are no guarantees in getting any type of help due to the fact the car is now fixed but is worth a try. If it doesn't happen now, I will avoid the highways until I can get things to where I can trade!

After the dealership adventure we stopped at Gander Mountain & I let Marty pick out his Father's Day gift from me. He got a very nice shooting vest & a wallet/cell phone case set. Then let him pick the place for lunch which, as I expected, ended up being IHOP. After lunch, we went to Tractor Supply so Marty could pick up a couple of things he needed for work. I was lucky & found a layered-look shirt & tank top while there. I love their clothes! Stopped at KMart & I was able to find a nice pair of capris for work. Went from there to WalMart for stuff we needed, then to Kroger's for produce & meat & finally ended up at home. Was a very long day!

Was supposed to go to Red Lobster with Adam & Rachel tonight but I doubt we will. Marty now has the same virus that I had. May suggest they come over & we have a picnic supper here. Would be a waste of money to take Marty to his favorite place to eat & he couldn't enjoy it!

Well, going to get off of here so I can get some things done. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads.

Peggy – The quilt sounds so nice.  I hope you have good weather again today.  It sounds like you are all set for the couple's anniversary meal tomorrow.

Mary – I had bought a little table and chair set to keep here for Maycee and she really likes it.

Susan – I hope the Ford rep does call and can work something out.  You got a lot done yesterday.  I hope Marty is feeling better today.

A muggy day here.  We got up to 93 yesterday.  The rain went north of us.  One area got over 5".  There is a slight chance today.
Today is Maycee's 2nd birthday.  They are going to the Children's Museum and Libby invited me to go with them, but I decided since it is also Father's Day, I won't intrude on their family day.  So I will go over when they get home so I can give her the picnic table.  The party is next Saturday.

Good afternoon and Happy Fathers Day to all the dads!!!!

We are having RAIN!!!  Yup!  that wet gray stuff that comes from above is finally falling on us.  Not sure if the big NASCAR race is rained out as they are 15+ miles south of us and can have totally different weather.  I know all the grass and trees are liking their drinks.  Think we are to have rain again tomorrow, which is fine by me.  The unfortunate part is we are supposed to stay hot and humid throughout.

Peggy, I don't think I've seen near as many garage sale signs in my area, either.  Wonder if more people are hanging on to things and re-purposing stuff?!  I imagine I'll have to mow later in the week after this rain.  Really need to get the push mower out and do some trimming.

Mary, that hutch top sounds like a great deal for Ron and his supplies.  Hope you get to go for a ride today.

Doris, how is the bottom after all the games yesterday?

Joyce, I hope that Maycee likes her picnic table.  Hard to believe she is 2 already.

Susan, that was nice of the sales manager to give you the suggestion to call Ford.  Sure hope you can get this resolved.  Not sure I would want to continue driving the car after the problems you've had.  Sorry that Marty now has your bug.

Not much new around here.  Dannys back is alot better.  Still seems to be sucking down alot of Motrim, but at least he is sleeping his normal hours.

Work has been busy, but so hot to be working.  I have tomorrow off, then I'm working on Tuesday but will have Thursday off.

We think we're going for a road trip on Thursday.  Up north near where I used to live is a town known for it's cheese.  The cheese and town are called Pinconning and the cheese is so good.  The drive will probably be a little over 2 hours one way, so will make for a nice day trip.  Really looking forward to a trip down memory lane as we go by the area I was raised in.

Tomorrow will be swim and laundry and some grocery shopping.

    Later all.

    Deb
