Good Morning Ladies
I seem to be having trouble typing this morning - - Not sure if it's my fingers or my mind that is not awake yet. Feel more refreshed this morning, unless it's just a deceiving feeling after the shower.
Guess I don't have any news since I was last here - - about all I did since then was sleep and shower.
Can't deceide if I want to that the afternoon off or not - - don't really have anything to do, so would probably just come home an nap. Since I work Sat. I could do that, but since I'm working for the boss lady, she said I didn't have to if I didn't want to - - Those afternoon's off are all about overtime, so since she didn't care if she was paying me overtime or not, maybe I should just work and do that! I work again next Sat. so will have an afternoon off then too. I should try to schedule my mamogram then - - Maybe while I think of it, I'll make that call today - - or not. I could go get groceries, I only have a Greek yougart left, and I just don't think I can face that this morning. I'd have a bowl of oatmeal, but haven't had milk in the house for over a month. I suppose I could make it a little more juicy and skip the milk, but don't think I want that anyway.
Sending hugs and prayers out for all of the Grannie family and friends.
Hi Grannies, it's looking to be a nice day here today. I need to go out and feed the woofer soon, should get dressed first, the bathrobe won't do it. I am so grossed out, I have a mouse in the kitchen, again! I think the house being empty for a few days put out an alert to the little buggers of "vacancy." Eeeuuckkk! I think I may need to borrow Riley for a few days, I should call #1. I'll be back in a bit, blessed be everyone!
Good Morning Everyone--Just wanted to stop in and say Hi before I start the marathon today!
I have to go to the grocery store soon and get back home to do some chores. The girls will be here for lunch and later today I'll have the two youngest Gkids while their DM meets with a patient. Tonight I'll have Jessie while DM and Sis go to Freshman orientation at the high school. Grandma's door swings open and closed at all times during the day
Well, we finally got rain last night. The rain gauge says 1". DH and I were coming home from Omaha and got into a real downpour--hard to see the road and there was some hail, too, but nothing to do any damage. DS didn't get anything and they live about 15 miles from here. I guess we were just lucky to be under the cloud that dumped!
I've read back and saw that Lily was having back problems--Ouch! I know that feeling. Try an ice pack--it's better than heat.
Well, I'd better get going--time is ticking away!
Have a great day! Elj
Good morning Grannies. It's a bright sunshiny morning going to be a bit warmer and more humid today. Yesterday afternoon the temp was 85 and the feel like was 84 A delicious day to be out there riding on the John Deere cutting grass. We were stargazing on the deck last night during chat time. News said it would be a stargazers night! Well we had to give up before it was really dark and the stars were brighter. Nice evening to be outside with the all the family enjoying the time.
I read all the chat from last night. Sugar on rice? When I was growing up rice was treated as a breakfast food, just like oatmeal. Cooked then eaten with sugar and milk.
Bible Study and lunch is my big events for the day. I must get ready to leave soon, I have to pick up someone.
Gooooooooooood Morning, Grannies!!
A beautiful day out and now it is even more beautiful that I can get back to talking to the GN. For some reason I was not allowed to talk here. DS said maybe I had to sign in but it only mentioned sign out on my page. So today I signed out and now when I tried it again I could sign in with my usual name. Computers----------------- can't live with them and can't live without them.
IC, I'm glad you got a good report from your tests. I have the lovely colonoscopy to look forward to. I didn't schedule my appointment yet. I will do that next month.
Lily, I hope your back is much better today.
Yesterday Dh wanted to go to Shawano for oil. We drove by the used car lot where we have bought our last couple cars. They had one that interested us so we went home to the bank and went back and bought it. It is a silver 2010 Jeep Campass. We were surprised how fast that went as we knew we were going to have to do that soon, but kept putting it off. Our old car was a 1998 Jeep so it was time for a new one. The old one was starting to complain about this and that.
I guess I will sew today. I have round steak with carrots and potatoes in the crock pot so that will be an easy dinner.
Good Afternoon.....
It's another pleasant day. Tomorrow is ony to be in the mid 70's for a high. Wow...that will certainly feel nice and a reminder that fall is coming.
Lauriet...I'm feeding my neighbors cats and she told me there is a mouse in her house, too. Not to be surprised if it's laying on the carpet after one of the kitties catches it. So far...no sign of it.
I picked my second tomato of the season this morning. So it will be BLT's for supper along with green beans from the garden. Finally my garden is starting to pay off. I'm making zucchini bread in a little while from a big zucchini I picked.
IC...glad to hear your tests were good and that you have a potential buyer for your house. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
Gram....nice to see the real you back...lol
It's starting to cloud up and look like it might rain. I know it's called for tonight and tomorrow.
Have a great day everyone.........hugs and prayers to all those in need.

Fran, congrats on the new car, you certainly make quick decisions

Finally the page would load and I could get here. This morning I woke up with a murderous headache, so I wasn't much for chatting anyway. The headache now is almost gone, Thank God. It was the worst headache I can remember ever having.
It's been cloudy and 74 all day, so far. A little breeze now and then so I can leave the house open. Not sure about tonight though. We need it a lot cooler to sleep well plus it gets sooo humid at night too.
CJ, my tomatoes are all done and we got quite a bit of eating from the plant too. No green beans planted this year. :(. I hope the farmers market has some today that aren't so expensive. Even those prices are sky rocketing. Enjoy your garden goodies!!!!!!!!
I just came in from watering. Not sure it really pays much anymore, the heat really beat up everything. Some plants have been tossed weeks ago already. :(
Monday my little brother brought us some sunfish so that is our supper tonight. No salt on fish is going to be a real problem. Not sure that is going to float. Some things just have to have some salt to have any kind of flavor. Fish and eggs are two that come to mind. I should have just put the fish in the freezer since they were already frozen but we haven't had fresh good fish in sooooooo long.
Fran, I see you got your name back. hehe. Congrats on the new set of wheels. I hope you are very happy with it too. Always fun to get new.
The dishes in the strainer should be almost dry now, that will make for an easy job of my drying. hehe Then it will be time to feed Buddy. I'll sit and check my eyelids for a bit and then go to the farmers market. I sure do hope my favorite corn vender is there today. :)

Hi, grannies.
Every time I was here to post something came up and I was gone. We had a kind of long ride today, then Russell treated me and Laura to a tasty lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, then it was phone calls and well----it just goes on and on.
Taking a Pepsi break now and getting ready for a light dinner and then on to VBS.
JANE, I think a cooler night made for better sleeping. And, this day continued in the same manner. Now, it even smells like rain to me. Wow, no milk----like MAMMA, I need milk here all the time. And, I'm the only one that drinks it. I usually make pudding for Russell and Laura so they get some milk.
LAURIE, did you catch that critter?
ELJ, you mentioned WANDA the other day----she's been gone a couple of days to take a hot air balloon ride with her friend. Boy, you were doing double grannie duty today. I always loved having the grands at our house.
GRAMMY, I love star gazing. Love looking for the constellations. One of the shops at VBS is for Astronomy. The kids are making spheres with papier mache and then painting the star formations on for a couple of constellations.
FRAN, glad you are back to that name. Who knows what happens, eh? The new vehicle sounds very nice. Question----did you ever make pickle spears with your recipe instead of whole pickles?
CJAY, any furry gifts at the neighbor's house from the kitties? Cool here, with some rain coming.
GLEE, you, too, are lucky to have Nicholas and Jamie to visit you and DH. They are truly a blessing.
MAMMA, fresh fish, so good. How about some herbs on the fish for flavor in place of the salt. I use basil or an Italian seasoning sometimes. I have mentioned this before but after my blood tests my sodium level is down and I'm told to use more salt.
Have to bake a couple of treats for two wakes. A former neighbor and one of our Homemaker's members both passed away this week.
Will peek in after VBS, again.
Good evening all--thought I'd stop in once again (that's twice in one day, how about that) before I get busy with grandkids again.
We're under a severe thunderstorm warning tonight until 1 AM. Sure hope we get some more rain, but we don't need storms.
Finally got to Walmart to get some much needed groceries. We were running on low around here and I had to get creative with some meals. That's okay for DH and myself, but the Gkids aren't so happy about it sometimes.
Tomorrow morning I'm going early for the grand opening of the ShopKo Hometown store here. They bought out the Pamida store. Do any of you have them in your areas? I'm guessing it's like a regular ShopKo, only smaller.
I'm having trouble with the curser disappearing and I can't tell where the type is going to be (I know where it should be) so I'm going to go start on supper--it's stuffed green peppers and sweet corn. Yum!
Have a good evening. Elj
Good evening, how are all of you? We are fine here, just waiting for hubby to get home. He had a few stops on the way home, then my car has to go back to the shop, again...now the AC went out, it's turning into a money pit on wheels. I stopped in at school for a few minutes today, got a couple of things crossed off of my to-do list there. I guess I go back the 26th. Better get more done in the kitchen. The critter is still at large and I am washing everything in my tupperware cupboard as I think he was dancing in there. UGH! Now, I will make sure they all have lids or they will go in the garbage. I always find such "fun" stuff to do, eh?.........
I know it's early, but is anyone around? I'll be hanging out here off an on for awhile, so wll keep checking. After looking like rain most of the day, and feeling damp and cool, it got really warm & Humid when I left work and went to the store. Now, it's looking like rain again - - Dark out and damp feeling again. They were talking about severe weather on the news too, but didn't quite catch if we are in the midst of it - - I did deceide to stay at work this afternoon, but slipped out fairly early. got groceries, mostly fruit and yougart. Fresh pinneapple, red grames, and cantalope - that should tie me over for a few days. Bought one of those OM packages of smoked Turkey, The sign said $3.00 - the add said 2.99 and it ran up as 1.50 - 2 for $3.00. I'm so confussed I'm not sure what it should have been. Checks the date as I thought maybe it was on clearance - but that was Oct. something. Finished the last of hte chili -- Froze 2 jars, so that will be good later. Had a little snooze while I was watching the news. Maybe that's why I don't know where the severe weather is!
Good evening supper was easy left over spaghetti. I ate mine and left Luci's for her she was not ready to eat yet. Tomorrow my handyman is coming to put together some storage racks for me Luci and I tried but could not do it. I have a few other tasks for him also. I too did grocery shopping but not as much fruit as Jane gets. I am not fond of fruit to that extent. Besides it does not always agree with me. I bought bananas today already had blueberries and cantalope.
ELJ I have never heard of a shop-ko store but we do have Pamida around here. I have heard they have been bought out by somebody maybe it will be an improvement as they are really not very good stores. Poorly stocked , poor quality , and poor service . I have to be desperate to go there.
We ran some errands today and started sorting stuff for the yearly yard sale. Luci wants to get everything out of her storage unit and get rid of a lot of it. the unit is $45 a month so is getting costly. We can't even remember how long we have had it probably 4 or 5 years. Time to get rid of that bill .
Not feeling good tonight so not sure how long I will be here. John was riding his motorcycle on Tuesday and got hit by a pickup truck but he is not badly hurt but will be stiff for a few days I am sure. Cycle is not hurt to bad but he is not happy about that . I will not say what i think about motorcycles but you can all take an educated guess.
Good evening to all! Just wanted to say that I'm back and had an absolutely wonderful time. If I can post a picture I will. My body is now starting to complain about what I've been doing since Sunday. Whew, tomorrow I might have to use a cane. LOL.
The flight was out of this world and if you have a chance to do it, do it. Then the guy at the motel gave us a map and told us some good places to go. Well thank goodness for my little girl that told me everything I needed to go. Thank goodness for gps's. We could have spent the rest of the week down there.
Let's see if I can post a picture.
