Good Morning Ladies
Well, it's time for morning to come join us again -- Sure didn't sleep worth a crap -- I was up for more IBP at 12:15, and went to the recliner then for a couple of hours, then back to bed, but was awake at least every hour, and sometimes oftner. I will have a nice nap this afternoon --
Work again this morning, won't be a easy as last week, as I'm back to the window, the good news is that I'm done with that for awhile. I've had a lot of extra shifts in Aug. and I think come Sept., I will only have 1 late Mon. night. I had to trade ahead to be covered while I'm on vacation. I get a bit mad when I've had both of my lake weeks scheduled for months and months, and then was assigned to work on both of them - - The other one, the schedule didn't get done until 2 weeks before, so hardly had time to trade - lucky for me, I had a gal that owed me a week, and she was free to return it then. O,, enough complaining, not a good way to start the day.
No plans for the weekend, other than this mornings work.
Grammy, hope the car is on her best behavior this morning. Maybe it just need to go for a ride. I make so many short little trips, that its good for me to get it out of town once in a while - especailly come winter.
Guess i don't know much this morning - I'll wait to see if anyone comes to talk to me, or if everyone is sleeping in for the weekend. Can't say I'd blame you there - - You know I would, if I could. Have a good day.
Good Morning GB - Sorry you had such a bad night. I couldn't go to sleep until nearly midnight because of all the excitement around here. The weather turned off good in time for DGS's game and it was a fun time. DGS got to play and he looked good out there. He's a guard on the kickoff lineup. They won 36 to 0. The DGS's were so excited. Not sure what time they went to bed, but they're still asleep.
DH and I are planning a ride up to see his DSis at the NH about an hr. and half from us. Then we plan to ride on to see our friend in the hospital who's recovering from a brain tumor. His original prognosis sounded good, but things don't seem to be going so well. He had surgery in March and is still going between therapy and a NH. We didn't have a working scoreboard last night, because that is what he does around here - keeps all the scoreboards working for all the ball teams.
Thinking about waffles and sausage for breakfast. This crowd will be happy with that! Hope it's a good day in the GN!
Good Morning I am up and showered and getting dressed for the day. Need to be at John's in about and hour and 15 min. There is an auction today and then the dance this evening. I am already tired. I bought beets yesterday so will be making pickled beets tomorrow after church and on Monday will be going to Cheboygan to visit john's sisters and his brother. His DD's and I are dragging him there kicking and screaming. I don't know the history but he does not like to visit them. Since he is the youngest and his brother is probably 84 I do think he should so will stand firm and he will do it and say Yes Dear LOL . It is a very long drive but they are nice people at least they seem so to me LOL .
It is very cold here so not sure how to dress but will take a stab at it and hope I choose right . I have to get a move on here so you all have a good day and I will probably stop in tomorrow if that creek don't rise LOL
MJ
Good Morning...
The sun is shining here, too. But it sure is chilly out there. It was 51 when I got up at 7. It's getting a little closer to 60 now. Supoose to go to 70 later.
Greenback...hope the morning goes quickly for you. I've been having trouble staying asleep lately. Keep waking up between 3 & 4. I think I have a lot on my mind right now with DD moving away. As soon as I wake up...my brain turns on and that's it for a couple hours.
Cleo...will keep your DGS in good thoughts that he makes the team (or has he already)? Enjoy the ride to see your DSisIL.
MJ...have fun today. Sounds like a full day for you. Yes, that will be a long ride.
I need to catch dust bunnies....they are getting out of control. They even attack the kitties when they go under the bed...LOL
Have a great day everyone...........
Good morning.
Oh yes, these cool nights sleep so good. We leave the windows open too. Mark has an extra blanket on him but sometimes by morning it is kicked off. Not the case last night. I woke up and it was 52º outside with bright sunshine. Some scattered showers but still a nice day ahead. We are doing good at making better good choices. And that is terribly hard when eating out. Everything is so full of sodium.... our favorite places are now a big NO NO! hehe
Jane, I took a Meletonin last night so I could sleep good and sleep good I did. hehe So sorry that you did not. I do hope that work goes well for you and quickly too. Is there anyway that you can request to not to the window where you have to stand all day? It just seems that after all the years that you have been there they would be accommodating for you if you asked. I am not nearly as bad as you and I have a lot of pain just standing and doing the dishes. Anyway, take care and have a good weekend.
Cleo, a nap is on the list for today? Sorry to hear the sad news about your friend, I will add him to the prayer list. Congrats to DGS on the game. Not sure what game it is, but they did good, that is all that matters. hehe
MJ, kicking and screaming huh? I hope not all the way in the car, or it could be an even longer trip. hehe Have a good time anyway. YUmmmmm, I love home made pickled beets!!!! I hope they turn out well for you.
CJ, 52* when I got up at around 8. Do you have a good sized net for the dust bunnies? You can borrow mine too if you need it. hehe
Not sure what is happening here this morning. Mark just left to help a gentleman and his wife. He needs to be moved in the hospital bed and his wife can't do it alone. That will be done a couple times today and again tomorrow. The man is in his 80's and a dear friend of Marks. So that leaves us with staying in town for the most part. But it sounds like breakfast out.
Enjoy your day everyone!!

Home from work and it was a good as it ever gets kind of Sat. - Now I'm having my pepsi - for some reason, I am always so dry when I come home on Sat's. I will have a cup of soup and go out and see what the mailman brough me today - probably just more bills -- NO, Mamma, I don't think I could request not taking an extra shift - -everyone has to take their turn, and I know I have to do it if I want to stay on. Sharon, I could retire, but I don't want to be here all day with noone to talk to. Unlike you, I don't have any Grand Luv's to come in and out, and DD doesn't come and DS & DIL are busy with their own lives and jobs - - I cant expect to be entertained, so I will go to work and keep in touch with the outside world. Besides, it keeps me moving.
Sharon, if you found the dress you like at David's, can't you check in IC, CR, and even Des Moines to see if they have your size? It would be worth the drive - or as long as it's too big, could you get it and have it taken in?
MJ, sounds like a nice drive, once you get going - -had to get my trust map out and see where it is - Maybe you could pack a bag, and make a little trip of it. \
Well, guess I'll have my soup and then I can get on with my nap!!
Hello, grannies.
Nice day, cool in the shade, but the warming sun feels so good.
JANE, you could be home by now if you didn't have any stops to make. Hope your sleeping will be better tonight.
CLEO, how nice that the weather cleared up for the football game. DGS must be strong and fast to play guard. Safe travels as you head off to visit DSisIL and your other friend. Your visit will mean so much to them.
MJ, have a good time with John as you two visit his siblings and then head to the dance.
CJAY, we could have some 40's during out nights. The "thinking nights" causing the sleeplessness can be a real pain. That always calls for some time in la-la land during the afternoon.
MAMMA, I've been wondering, do you have to go completely salt-free? Did you discuss it with the Dr. Because I know we all have to maintain a certain sodium level or if that's too low that is trouble, too. Just a thought I had. Nice that Mark is helping his dear friend.
SHARON F, another problem gone, you found a dress. That's great. I enjoy the Food Channel on Sat. morning, too. I can watch while I get the family room decluttered, dusted and vacuumed. And, I do like Pioneer Woman, too.
Our doors finally came and they are taking up most of our living room. Carpenter who's installing them will be here in two weeks. Well, we don't sit in that room much anyhow. It is my "gym"-----I ride my recumbent exercise bike as I look out my big front window. And, the room is a nice, quiet place for reading. BBL
Hi Ladies,
I am just stopping in to say hello. I will be heading out soon to go to 4 o clock Mass. then out to eat with friends.
MJ, did I ever tell you that I have a friend whose parents own a store in Cheboygan? I think it is a carpet/flooring business. Her Dad's name is Herb Makima. Good old Finn name. They are originally from Mass City.
I had better get going. Have a good rest of the day.
We did so good today. Breakfast and lunch out and all within legal limits. We snooped in Menards and WM after lunch and had a good time and got all our walking in for the day as well. hehe I however, like to walk faster. hehe
Nancy, we are following doctors orders. I am a dietician so I know the diet, just very hard to follow. hehe Everything we eat has sodium, fresh fruits and veggies too. Take a look at the milk carton..... 130mg of sodium in an 8 ounce glass. When buying foods I look for 35 mg of sodium or less. The American Heart Association states that NO one should have more then 1500mg of sodium a day. And a low salt diet is even less. Mark is also on a low fat low cholestorol as well. Oh such fun. hehe Needless to say, I do a lot more from scratch cooking then ever before and I thought I was always doing that. LOL We get enough sodium in our diet. Thank you so much for your loving concern. It means a lot to me.
Jane, I know you are a very social person, I envy you that. I wish I was more like that. You know your limits, I do not. Just a concerned friend.
Mark is taking a nap now and I need to wash up the fruit we bought today. But had to check in here. Not always easy to get on the site. But made it twice now today. hehe
We missed the Raptor program at the fair since we were trimming a tree out front. Wish we could get rid of the whole tree. hehe We will probably go to the fair tomorrow afternoon. It's been years since we have been there. Some of the quilt work of my friends is in the fair and I would like to see how they came out with ribbons too.
Since we ate such a late lunch, even though it was more like a meal, hehe, I've really got to put my thinking cap on for supper. Enjoy the nice day. Well I hope its nice by each of you. It's beautiful here.
Good Afternoon,
Hope you all enjoyed the cyber cinnamon buns. The boys are back home now so life becomes quiet once again. DH is exhausted. I think his copd is worse than he lets on. He keeps busy but plays out easier then he use to. When that happens he gets in a mood.
Funny how the mind works at the wee hours of the morning. The strangest things can pass through and all the worries of the day surface then. I guess the days are just too busy and that is the only time our minds have time to think of just those things.
Sounds like everyone is keeping busy. This time of the year brings lots of work with it. I also like to get in as much visiting as I can before the snow flies, time is so precious at this time of the year.
Every summer I start off with a to do list and DH has his own list. This year I have not yet got a start on mine. It is a full time job just keeping track of what DH will decide to start next. I just can’t wait until his to do list includes finishing up all his started projects. He never use to be like that. Funny how we all change.
MJ – Pickled beets are so yummy. Wish I had remembered to plant the beets this year. By the time we get our garden planted it is so late that if I forgot to get certain seeds it is usually too late to bother planting them.
Cjayh – Good luck dust bunny hunting. I have a few batches hatching here as well. That and spider webs are showing up every so often. I think with the high humidity they are running wild this year. Funny how one never sees them out and about in the house but the webs show up just fine.
Mamma – I can imagine how hard it is to cut back on salt, like you say it is in everything, but did not realize it is in milk.
ATV – Are you redoing all your doors? We have such a mix of doors in our house but will tend to that at a later date. Still other things to get done first.
Greenback – It is nice that you have a job you enjoy enough to work at even after you are able to retire.
Enough spending time on the computer. Will check back later.
EVENING EVERONE Finally cooled off enough to turn AC off & get fresh air in the hoiuse. Feels good. We had breakfast for supper tonight.
Anyone around? I'll check back and see..
I just finished my 25 minutes on the treadmill. The car was fine today. Who knows why it didn't want to start on Thursday. I made two trips into tow, with three stops. No problems at all with it starting. It's been a beautiful day with lower temps and humidity. A nice breeze just a hint of fall.
Crafty so good to see you checking in often. I'm sure it was a good time with the dgc but sure is nice they can go home to mom and dad! I so sorry for grandparents that are raising dgc.
Come on back Greenback.
IC how was your day?
