I'd love to share some of my yummy hot and FRESH coffee with you this morning - - Hold up your cup, and I will fill it.  Gee, it's been good this week!  Had a good time with the gals last night - missed the one recovering from knee surgery, but hopefully, by nezxt month, she will be able to come and join us.  It was a busy little place out there last night - you would have thought it was the weekend!  News wasn't all good though, as some of them already knew that one of our coustomers was killed getting ready to start the harvest.  I had ot heard it before I got there, but feel so badly for the family.  It's been a hard week for the community - as today is the funeral of a young man who passed away after falling down a flight of stairs.  Difficult times for all, even when you are not so closely involved, you heart aches.   Had another good nights rest - it so helps to be able to lay - - Was up once, but back to sleep  - - I was kinda awake when the alarm went off, but would have liked to roll over and shut those eyes again.  Tomorrow - Tomorrow!!   I want to cook some chicken and make soup with it over the weekend - - Just have a surprise BD party tomorrow night, and there will be a big damper on it now, as the farmer who lost his life were very good friends of the BD gal and her DH.  I do need to read up on all of the papers they sent home with me from the clinic, and get a handle on next week.

Good to hear Lizx had her surgery -  Now it's on to healing and back to school.  Blessings for her and you all.

Nancy, any news from the woods?  I suppost they are out of pie by now.  Vicky, have a good trip to the UP - it will be a fast one.  Wanda, your kitchen just keeps spitting out jars and jars of good winter fare - - Fran, good to hear you are getting out and about some - -  How did the gater work for you?  Glee, you and Phil have been loyal to the Y - I'm glad you are enjoying it.  Wish there was a pool to use here, but then, I probably wouldn't go anyway - I'm kinda partial to the pool at the lake, and don't feel bad about being in a swim suit there.   Just wouldn't do it everywhere.  Grammy, good for you and the SIlver Sneakers as well. Cjayh, did the pockets jingle all the way home?  Laurie, so glad to hear that DH is okay after the accident - I'm sure today, he will be more uncomfortable.  Was he around home?  I know he is often gone.  Well, I'd better keep moving, time gets away from me.

Morning GB - So glad to hear you are sleeping better.  Hope the meds continue to make you better.  My knee and back are better today.  I was kinda weary of the discomfort.  Know you are with the problem you have.  Sorry to hear of the sadness in your group.  Had a sad thing here.  A man got caught in an auger at a poultry processing place here and died.  He talked to his wife as he was dying.  A real nightmare...

The weather is wonderful here.  It's 57* going to the 80's.  Should be good weather tonight for the football game.   DD has been to her storage unit and is looking for fall clothes.

Hoping it will be a quiet day at my house.  I'm going to plant the mums I bought yesterday and then rest.  Bought Digiorno pizza for supper, so we'll have that before we go to the game.  The team is always provided a steak supper before the game.  DGS is loving it.

    Good morning, grannies.

    Here we are and TGIF.

JANE, I see you and LAURIE were opening the door about the same time this morning. We can always count on you two to start us out with a cheery greeting and some good coffee. Glad the girls and you had a good time last night. Sorry about the sadness in your community. BTW, Russell calls me every day----no deer, yet. But, the trailer had a new door put on. Russell and brother Carl are two good handymen to know, believe me. If the pie is gone there is usually something else for dessert from my SisIL, Judy. I know you'll have a good day after a restful night.

LAURIE, I suppose you're having up and down weather, too. Cold mornings and better afternoons. And, hopefully no rain so the kids can got out. Hope DH is doing OK.

On to another set of 5's. Think I will pick less strenuous ones this time around.

    Good morning grannies,

Jane, good to hear that you are sleeping better.  We had a fun night out with friends last night also and the food was really good.  Tonight we are going to fish fry with my girlfriend from San Francisco who is here visiting, so another fun night of food and friendship.  Sorry to hear about the farmer who died, it seems he will be missed in your community.  Funny you saying about making chicken this weekend for soup, I had the same idea.

Cleo, DGS gets good eats before games.  I have not gotten my fall clothes out yet but will be doing that soon I am sure.  I bought mums last week and may plant a couple sometime soon but for now they are just in pots.

ATV, how long is Russell going to be at the trailer?  Yes, we sure are having cool mornings and it is to remain cool this weekend.  Don't think I will be doing much outside work but there is always plenty to do inside too.

Laurie, how is DH doing?  TGIF last day of the work week for you, do you have many weekend plans?

Have to go, get some breakfast for DH and I and then it is back to the Y this morning, yes Jane we are trying to be faithful and get into better shape.

    Prayers and hugs

    Good morning.

I think someone tried to lock me out of the GN this morning, I just couldn't get the door to open earlier. The door knob just kept turning and turning. Hmmmm.

A cool morning, which I love, a few sprinkles here and there today and a cool high of 60. I think it's homecoming here. I see some signs welcoming HHS alumni. I never watched the game and often had to ask if we won or not. hehe It was more of a social gathering for me. After a couple years I just stopped going all together. Socializing wasn't my game then either. What a stick in the mud. hehe The spectators tonight will need heavy jackets on at the game. Down to 36 tonight. A grab a sweetie to keep warm night. :)

Jane, thanks for the coffee. These cooler mornings make the coffee exceptionally good. What great news, that you are sleeping better. I pray for continued relief from the pain. My goodness such sadness among your friends. So sorry to hear all that.

Cleo, good to hear that your back feels better today. My word that poor man and wife. My heart just broke!!

Nancy, Mark calls me every night when he is on his fishing trip. Don't you just love that? :) Yep, don't work to hard today.

Glee, I applaud you sticking to your exercise routine!

It would've been nice to sleep longer this morning but I had to get my hair washed before I can leave the house. hehe This morning I need to drop off my old George Foreman that someone is buying from me. From there I would like to pick up some apple cider to take to Bible study with the muffins. It's cool enough where I don't want to go out with a wet head. I have a load of clothes in the washer too.

After BS I will fry up a little bacon for BLT's for supper. DH won't be able to pig on out bacon this time. hehe I know he won't be happy but I'm just looking out for him. No he can't have turkey bacon because it is too high in potasium and with his pills, Lipitor and Lisinapril, that is a big no no. I always have more tomato then bacon on mine. Love fresh tomatoes. The rest of the day I hope to get my ambition back and get to my sewing and quilting. Oh and I need to pick up milk that I forgot to do the other day.

our New Guine Impatients aren't looking so very good anymore, soon they will be gone too. The leaves are just starting to fall. We have a compost garbage can too and we will it as often as we can for them to pick up and empty. Love the curb side service. But out big trees drop more then that can handle and we have to bag and haul some out too. Lots go on the flowers for winter cover as well.

Time for me to get moving. I see my font size is shrinking. Crazy site. hehe

    Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning it is a chilly one here and I have lots of stuff to do. Several 5's done already but more are waiting.   I did not get anything done yesterday to amount to anything. When I am, worried about something I don't seem to work to well.  I have not called DD yet today I will wait until I am sure she is up and morning rounds are done.

Yesterday I tried to explain to UK Sue how to find us each day but I don't think she read my post as i see she is posting seprate again today. Maybe someone else who understands computers better will explain it to her.  I am not good at the computer stuff would hate to lose her but I will not do a bunch of sites everyday.     Well I am still purging paper work so think I better get to doing that so I can then vacuum the floor.  Oh coffee is pretty good today. I probably won't make any over the weekend.

TGIF to all.   It's a beautiful day here although once again the promised rain has not materialized.  It took all my willpower to come back to the office after lunch break.  I went to Target, shocker, right!??

Not much planned for the weekend and I almost feel at loose ends--but I'll get over it!  DH will work, the utility company he works for promised the Public Service Commission that they'd have some things done by the end of the year and now the company is realizing that they are going to have to hustle!  So, he'll be working 10 hours tomorrow in Columbia.  Like he said, it will make up for the $500 taken out of savings for the truck repair this week!  Now if I could just get paid overtime for all the hours I put in!

Jane, glad you are getting some relief from your pain.  I still think there should be something more they could do for you!

I forgot to wish LILY and Marv a happy anniversary yesterday--hope they had a good day.

So sorry to hear about LINY's loss, I know how close she and Norm were.  I enjoyed meeting him and Mike enjoyed talking with Frank Eddy and Norm at our meets.  He said they both made him re-think his opinion of city guys and New Yorkers!  My thoughts are with LINY's entire family.

Cleo, good luck to DGS for tonight's game.  Sounds like he's a real contributor to the team.  I told DH that if he'd work a lot of overtime, we'd save our money and come back to Gulf Shores on our own and plan on spending more time traveling Mississippi.  I'd like to go most every place I read about in the book you gave me!  Did you ever make any banana butter?

Wish I was close enough to Justme that she could share some apples with me.  I'm itching to try some new apple recipes.  I hope to go by Aldi's after work, haven't been there in quite some time, and see what their fruit prices are these days.  I checked at the Mennonite market near us last night and they were expensive!  But, I know apples are in short supply this year, too.

Time to get some work done before I can start the weekend.

    Love to all!

    Good Afternoon....

A nice sunny day with mild temps.  Perfect day for sitting on the swing...LOL  Big changes for the weekend with temps barely making it to 60.

No jingle in my pockets...but at least I didn't lose all my money, still came home with some of it.  It was a fun day.

I was working on my banking stuff this morning on the computer and didn't have time to get here.  Sorry I missed that good cup of coffee Greenback had.

MJ...hope Liz is resting comfortably and will be back to school in no time.

Sounds like everyone is busy in the neighborhood today.  Cooler weather usually does that to you.  My DS will be leaving tonight sometime.  Probably in the middle of the night.  He has everything packed and ready to go.

I hear the swing calling to me......have a good day everyone.

    Hi, grannies.

We've had a dull, gray, drippy morning and day 'til now. Now, I see the sun, but it still is not real warm outside.

Laura leaves work at 3 pm on Fridays, so I will be meeting her for dinner. Then, we will get a little shopping in, too.

BBL and hope to get here for chatting time.

Good afternoon to all!  The old clock on the wall is in it's final downswing.  I get to leave early today and I'm counting the minutes now.  LOL.  Got lots to do when I do get home but that's okay too.  I have four stops to make before getting home.  Hope I can do them all in an hour, that way I won't feel like I've lost any time.

Debbie, if you were coming to the meet, I could bring you some apples.  They are grimes goldens and aren't a pretty apple but the insides are delicious.  We will probably do up some tonight.  Maybe make a pan of sauce and then slice up a bushel to freeze.  That would be great to have that done.  Then tomorrow while it rains, we can do more for sauce.  I'll have to call DGS to come over and help.

MJ, sure hope you've heard something by now and your DD is doing fine.

I talked to Sue last night and guess what we put on our bucket list now.....LOL....dogsledding!  Supposedly they do it in a town close to here.  Never heard of it before but if they do, whoohoo!  But, of course, another hot air balloon ride is in my future too.

Got sidetracked and now have forgot what I wanted to say, so I guess I'll go and get things closed up and titied so I can go with a clean desk.

    TTYAL.

All the talk of apples makes me envious.  They don't grow here well, and are soooo expensive at the store.  While we were doing jams and jellies this Summer, I found a recipe in my TOH canning book for APPLE PIE JAM.  Looks beautiful and good.  Takes 2 lbs. of golden delicious apples.  It's on this site if anybody's interested.  No, Debbie, I haven't made the banana butter yet, but plan to make some for Christmas gifts for family.

Hi Grannies, just thought I'd stop and say hi again.  I did some errands after school and stayed pretty busy.   I had to go to the library-only to get a call at home that I left two books there that weren't their's, so I will need to go back and get them another time.   It is city wide garage sales here this weekend, so I stopped at a couple.  A friend got a beautiful head/foot board for her daughter but it wouldn't fit in her car, so it is in my jeep and she'll stop and get it tomorrow.   Got some duck decoys for hubby.  He said he is ok, $$$ damage to the truck, he will get it fixed up north.   #1 is on his way up there too.  I didn't go up, I am tired and have lots to get done here and didn't care to drive that far alone when hubby will be gone hunting most of the time I am there.   I do want to go and see my parents, but I am gong to do that next weekend.  It's been sunny and then cool off and on all day.  I thought about going to the football game, but think I will just stay home.
