Good morning.  Rise and shine it is a brand new week with lots of possibilities. Think I will start with laundry and then hope to get a little more work done around the house.  My bedroom is my target this week.

Laurie Miss kitty is very chatty this morning and silly as usual. She was rolling on my bathroom counter trying to get my attention and get a belly rub to boot.  I told her she would fall if she was not careful.  Yup she should listen to mamma off she fell taking two rolls of tp with her and my pick and landed kerplop on my scale LOL .  Of course she meant to do it you know . Last night the boys kind of ganged up on her and were being brats. Vinny got his butt spanked and Riley went and hid . I swear when he  knows he is in trouble he can shrink down to about 6 inches high . Looks so funny you sort of forget to be mad at him.

I had every intention of being here for chat last night but laid down to wait for chat time and woke up at 10:00 everyone was gone by then.   Luci and I did go to Grand Rapids yesterday. I had a $15 dollar birthday  coupon from Pier One.   I picked up a metal cook book holder a little bag of decorative stones and had not used the whole coupon so picked up a wild berry scented 4 inch purple candle. So I ended up owing $4.75 not to bad. I am hoping the book holder will be handy when I am cooking to keep the book upright and the page open to the one i need. It may keep the book out of splatter range too. Both Luci and I also thought it could be used decoratively to hold a nice book on display either open or closed. Like I need more stuff to display LOL .  Any way  something pretty always makes my day.  I am a sucker for pretty stuff.   Off to make some coffee ...............maybe we will see how the mood strikes me. Lots of laundry to get started to.   Dinner last night was Chinese.  We went to a restaurant in GR that I seldom go to as I don't get to that part of GR that often.

Ok  going to the kitchen to rattle pots and pans so that you can get up sleepy heads.  I like mornings better than evenings.

Good Morning Ladies - - Sounds like a good day for the two of you yesterday, MJ -- Always nice to find some new treats, need or not -- Mostly not, anymore, but still fun.  My weekend seemed busy and filled with sadness - - Not good news on two of my older friends, first on my former nezxt door neighbor who has been in the nursing home for awhile - They are going to discontinue dyalias, as they would need to take her to a bigger hospital to do so - She has been ready to go ever since her DH has been gone - they were married over 60 years - DS's Godmother is in the NH also, more recently, and I called her last night, and she said she had a test last week and according to what the Dr. feels, she now has lung cancer. She won't get the results until today or tomorrow, but that's what the Dr. told her before the test - - She never smoked either.  That along with the farm accident, all made for sad news.  On the up side, my friend with the knee replacement, was doing good when I went to visit her, and gos to have the stitches out today.   Don't know much else - just plugging away - was glad to have DS over to get the last of my fall stuff up that I hadn't gotten done.  Changing my garden flag is a hard one for me - It's a balance issue, so he got that done.   Won't be long and it will be time to put out one for Christmas.  Hope everyone has a good day today.

    Good Morning....

Brrr...it's cold out there.  Going to the apple orchard today, so I don't have to be at school til a half hour later than usual.  We will all meet at the orchard.

My...MJ...you were here early.  Sounds like a good buy at Pier 1.  I like that store.

It's suppose to get warmer by the afternoon and the week will be nice temps in the 70's.

DS made it to his brother's place without any problems.  I was glad to hear from him.  I think he is going to take a couple days to get used to the altitude before starting his job.

I have coffee, tea and juice on the counter.......have a good day everyone.

Good morning grannies. I'm on my second cup of coffee so my eyes have opened and I see it's a frosty looking  morning. Temp is 34. Just a little white looking grass here and there.  The sun is coming up and it promises to be another beautiful day.

MJ you certainly can be a noisy one in the mornings! I'm so glad I was already out of bed and having that first sip of coffee. Sounds like you had a good week end with lots of things to do. Dancing, shopping and eating out all sound good to me! Is Miss Kitty going to the vet today? Lena still has an accident now and then. She has peed in dgd's bed twice recently...ick! she doesn't seem to have a daytime problem, maybe she is out often enough during the day? Enjoy all that fun stuff you have planned for today, Isn't it fun to see the clothes come out nice and clean, and dryBig Smile

Greenback glad to hear you are having less pain and sleeping better. No so good that the cure for one thing creates another problem? Your life is too busy to want to sleep!

The plan for today is for dgd and me to go shopping in Columbus. She needs some cell phone repair and I want to go to JoAnns for some things. I also need a new swim suit mine is looking bad! The pool chlorine is really hard on a swim suit. I will be surprised if I can find one this late in the season.

Hi CJ good new that ds reached his destination safely. A little time to let the body adjust to the altitude and climate sounds like a very good idea. Looks like you will have a nice day for the orchard visit. Too bad about the apple crop.

Cjayh, good idea for DS to lay low for a couple of days - - Just resting up from the travel would be good.  I have forgotten, is he going ot be working at one of the ski resorts?

Grammy, if you can't find a swim suit today, try going on line at Lands End.  They have a good quality suit, a good fabric to hold things in - - Of course, they are not clorine proof, but then none of them are.  They may cost a little more, but you do have a good suit.

TIme for me to head out - - Have a good one.

    Good morning, grannies.

Hey, MJ, you must have listened to Bill Haley and his Comets and he told you to get out in the kitchen and rattle those pots and pans. We love the Chinese Buffet. Laura took me to one I had not been to, last Friday. It was tons of food. But, I was happy with steamed shrimp dumplings, pot stickers, a couple of chicken dishes and a crab rangoon. Just tasted a bit of each one otherwise it gets to be overeating. Glad you found nice items at Pier 1.

JANE, having your DS help is the safe way to do those high things. The other day I had Laura on a stool and we cleaned the high shelf in the pantry. Your flag must be a big one. I just have the small version and the holder is in my front porch planter. So, that's an easy change for me. Sorry for the sadness you have had with friends.

CJAY, even if there's no apples just the atmosphere is fun for the kids. If you meet at the orchard that must mean the parents stay and help. That's great. Happy for DS's safe arrival and how lucky he has a job, already.

GRAMMY, safe travels to Columbus and may you complete that list for shopping. Good suggestion from JANE about Land's End for the swim suit. They have an outlet store in the next town over from me. I like Jo Ann's now, too-----lots of fall decorating items at this time.

Leaving for an early app't. with the opthamologist. Then, it's also the Sr. Center meeting later on.

Now, it's time to Rock Around the Clock.                BBL

    Good morning everyone!

And first off, I want to thank you all for the bd wishes.  We had a nice stay at home day with DS and family come over.  DD had to work so they couldn't come.  And believe it or not, I didn't do any apples or tomatoes.  But I did make a pan of brownies and got dinner for us all.

I also got to play with Willow yesterday.  I love that dog.  DGD said I could get one of the puppies that would be Willow's relative, but I said 'no', I want Willow.  I plan to have her when Jackie graduates and goes to college.  Of course, she doesn't know that yet.  LOL.

Well, I got sidetracked by people so now I can't remember what all was said.

CJ, so glad your DS got there with no mishaps.  Long drive by himself, but I rather enjoy that.  I'm a traveler, DH isn't, sigh!!!!

Guess tonight will be tomatoes, hoping to end that.  DD borrowed the peeler, corer, slicer so apples are on a standby till Wednesday.  The visiting the garden yesterday (why oh why did I do that) showed me that I've got a pile of peppers again.  Maybe tomorrow night will be stuffed peppers.  If I've got enough burger in the freezer, then I'll stuff the rest of them.  If not, pepper soup this week and then slice and freeze the rest.

You all know that 3 months from today is Christmas eve.  LOL.  Surprise

I guess I'd better get busy, I keep getting interrupted so might as well just work.

    TTYAL.

Wanda nice that you had a good Birthday. One should not work on one's birthday. Ok cooking is not work unless you are not in the mood LOL.

Nancy I have looked at the pot stickers and never tried them they look mighty bland and like too much flour. I try to avoid flour foods.  I did have some rice yesterday which is highly unusual for me but the one chicken and mushroom dish looked like it would be good on rice and it was.  I always start with the hot and sour soup  and a salad before I hit the entrees that way I don't hit them so hard.  In an attempt to not stuff myself to the point of being obscene I do try to pick and choose carefully. I did have a small piece of pork chop yesterday and it was very tender and quite good.  Don't remember what else but left with plenty in my tummy and it showed on the scale this morning also No but it went down nicely Yes.

Well I am taking Miss Kitty to the vet at 11:30 I am probably being over cautious but just feel something is not right .  I have laundry chugging away and now think I will go catch my shower it is trying to run away LOL . Can't let that happen LOL    I did not open this in a new window so can't look back so will post and go do something productive.

Question I have some left over chicken and a little chicken gravy I was wondering if I could use that for a basis for a soup and have it be tasty. I am thinking of adding chicken broth and potatoes, carrots, onions, celery and whatever other veggies grab my attention and maybe a few noodles or maybe shell pasta. What do you think would that work? I seldom make soup without tomatoes but thought maybe this could be the exception. Maybe biscuits or beer bread or white bread in my machine to go with it .  I am having a hard time finding bread recipes for my machine that do not overflow the little baking can and make a horrible mess. The white bread recipe I use always comes out well. Ok I chattered on some more so must really leave now.  Tonight is bowling night so I must not get too tired. LOL.  Fat chance of me getting too tired.

Morning Grannies - A nice cool morning here.  It'll be in the 80's by noon, but we are done with the air conditioner - no matter how hot it gets - we've spent all we're going to spend for this year!!!  My mums I bought are still looking good, and looks like my old ones will be coming out pretty soon.  I had trimmed them back and some didn't make it through the 'monsoon' we had, but the ones in pots look good.

It was a hard weekend for me - never did get any 'peace and quiet'.  Last night I felt like my last ragged nerve was hanging out.  DH must have felt the same way, because he couldn't go to sleep, and that is NEVER a problem for him.   DD took DGS to the Dr. this morning and they said that his ankle is broken, not sprained.  Well...  that will be the end of his football career, since he is a senior.  I really hate that for him because he has worked so very hard to make the team.

MJ - You were up mighty early - or was it late?  Hope Kitty is okay.

GB - Sorry about the sad news in your neighborhood.  I think that is part of my problem.  Worried about DD and DGC.  We are getting lots of phone calls they don't want. (All from the same person)   We just let the answering machine answer, but still have to listen, just to make sure we know what 'he' is up to.

CJ - Glad DS made it there okay.  DH and I had coffee and tea on the front porch while we waited for the school bus this morning.  Had to go back in and get a jacket, but the sun was beautiful coming up across the road.

Grammy - I was going to suggest the Land's End for a bathing suit, too.  Never had one from there, but heard they are nice.

ATV - Hope everything is routine at the eye Dr. and you enjoy the Senior Center meeting.

Justme - Sounds like a nice BD celebration.  You put me in a panic every time you mention Christmas.  I'm working on it, though.  All I need is some more money.  We don't spend a real large amount, but still do 'something' for all our DC and DGC.  Lots of 'homemade' here.

Home from the field trip.  It was a really nice place.  I had not been to that one before...in fact I had never even heard about it.  We got to pick a pumpkin, then go back and have cider and a donut.  I bought some cider and donuts and a carmel apple to bring home.

Grammy...I was going to suggest Land's End, also.  Sears carries their things too.  I have a swim suit I bought from them many many years ago and I still use it.  Very good quality and lasts forever.

Greenback....DS will be going back to work as an apprentice for becoming an electrician.  He can continue where he left off in his apprenticeship.  His old boss that he worked for when he lived out there before, has lots of work now and wants him back....so it works out for DS.

I think I see a little swing time for this afternoon...

Cleo so sorry your DGS broke his ankle. Football injuries are very common and could have been a lot worse.  Sometimes it is hard to count our blessings but they are there. I know what you are going through I went through a lot getting custody of my sisters it was a very scary time for us and i worried as I was not a parent but it all worked out like it should so will your situation. The tension is hard to deal with however.

No mums here no flowers here they are not my thing. If they don't come up by themselves every year I generally don't get around to them LOL .

Cjay the apple cider and donuts sound good but you can keep the caramel apple. To hard to eat.  Good that your Son can go back to his apprenticeship I hope he does well.  Lots of work sounds good in these times. Enjoy your swing time I think your days out there are numbered LOL .

Miss Kitty just has a bladder infection so she got a shot and the operation on her toes is still a go for Thursday. Now my tummy is saying find some lunch. Don't know if I will make it back this is bowling night. I did so well last week kind of wonder how I will do tonight  LOL

MJ...I don't care much for carmel apples either.  This one is for DH..he loves them.  What is happening to Miss Kitty's toes?  Are you having her declawed?  I've been lucky training mine to use the scratching post.  I have many of them around.  Occasionally I catch Oscar using the couch and he gets swatted every time.  That reminds me that I need to trim all the kitties nails.  Biscuit might be a challenge since he's not a very "warm" cat...doesn't like to be handled and not a lot of petting.  I'll have to sneak up on him when he's sleeping.

Cleo...sorry to hear that DGS broke his ankle.  I'm sure that is very upsetting to him as much as he enjoys playing football.  Still praying for your family situation.

It's quite windy out there, but I'm heading out to the swing with a cup of coffee.  It's still on the cool side here.Coffee
