Good Morning the sky is getting light but it is still dark.
Good Morning Ladies -- What are you doing up so early, MJ, you are on vacation? did the boys need to go out? Dark here too - - the week seems to be going fast, but then it seems like it started yesterday, and now it's Thursday already. Today, I am scheduled for a hair cut after work. Hope I can get into it okay - it;s right downtown, and there seems to be pleanty of snow along the curbs - at work I can hang on to the railing, going into work, and hang on the the car to step up to the sidewalk, but there just aren't those railing or anything else to hang on most places. Last night, seems so strange when I didn't have anything special to watch on TV - I had been involved in the Voice & the X Factor for so long. Now I guess I will just have to have a few weeks for Am. Idol. The cake rolls disappeared at work, so they are taken care of. NO coffee here agin, but I am having a glass of juice and will have a carton of yogurt. Banana's are gone again. Have a good day. Hope the snow bound people aren't being hit to hard.
Goooooooooood Morning, Grannies!!
It is still dark here but the temp is a higher this morning.
MJ, I hope your visit is going well.
Jane, Your right this week is going fast.
Eastern grannies stay safe and warm.
Jan and Nancy, We do get RFD and usually watch Molly B. We do enjoy her show.
We are up early because I have to go to the ortho this morning. DS#2 was going to take me but he called yesterday that they were sick at his house. He was starting to get achey and Duke was just sitting around doing nothing. Since he didn't think we wanted to share with him he suggested we get someone else. So my SIL said she would drive again.
Not sure what I will do when we get home. We will have to vacuum seal the sausage and get that in the freezer. Maybe I will work on church quilts after that.
I started this wrong so don't know if anyone came in while I was talking. So I'm waving to all that are here and those that are yet to come.
Good morning MJ, Jane, Fran and all to come,
It is a dreary morning here, but they are not calling for snow that I know of until tomorrow. I have been up for a while and DH is getting up now so we will have a little breakfast and Jamie will be here around 10:00. He got a Hot Wheels Wall Tracks from Santa at our house and we kept it here so he is anxious to come over and play with it. He also has been a little sick so we have to have some quiet time.
MJ, I hope the trip has gone well, how long are you staying?
Jane, be careful when you are out and about. Do you use your cane, while getting in and out of places or is it just a nuisance in the snow?
Fran, hope the ortho dr says all is well tomorrow. Have a good day
No more news for now but I will try to stop by later
Cough! Cough! I'll wear a mask so the germies can't get loose in the GN. On to the chair with blanky and book agin today. cough.............
Good morning everyone. No sunshine out there this morning and I see that it is only 10º. I have some errands today so I am hoping that it will warm up some. Mark took my Escape to work yesterday so I know I will need to put gas in it today. I hope all of you have filled your tanks, the price of gas always goes up when I need to fill.
No new year plans here. Although for us supper will be the high light. Cashwise has crab legs on sale! hehe That will be one of my stops today. Does anyone else celebrate as quietly as we do/ LOL
Do you all have your decorations up yet? I mentioned last night that I'm tired of them and want to take them down. Mark wants to wait until New Years day. Which is ok, I guess, he will be home to help me then.
Jane, do be careful out there today.
Fran, I hope all goes well at the ortho today. Are you still in a cast?
Glee, I hope that the germies have left Jamie so he doesn't share with you. Have a fun time with the Hot Wheels.
Off to have me some oatmeal and hit the shower.
It's snowy here. We got around 5 inches. I'm getting ready to go play in it with the snow blower
Not much news here. DD & I got our errands taken care of yesterday. It started snowing ever so lightly when we left the house and by time we were on our way back, it was really coming down and the roads were a mess.
I do need to go to the store for bread, but that's about it....and I'll stop at the bank while I'm out. Otherwise I have no plans today. I think DD is going out for lunch with a friend.
I take my decorations down on New Years Day. It always feels good to get the house back in order. Although this year I didn't put out many decorations...so not as many to put away.
Have a good day everyone. Hope all those feeling bad start to feel better quick.
Good Morning All, 42 and the sun is out going to be a good day. I feel better today still stuffed up but I'll live. LOL
Going to go fine the yarn for the scarf. May have to wait to start it till I go see Zora. I'm not very good at reading and understanding the directions.
No plans for New Years Eve I'll probably be in bed by midnight. Have a great day be safe. Jan
Good Morning. Surprise! I decided to try and chat occasionally. I managed to write an entire email to someone while I waited for this site and the reply page to show up. So wasn't as much of a waste of time.
Hoping everyone had a good holiday. I can't read back, as it would take all morning. We had a wonderful day.
I keep telling everyone that I love getting old. So many good things happen. Lots of folks help me in stores anymore, I guess they can tell I am weak and shaky!! I love it. Fareway always takes your groceries out, even if you are young, but I've had folks offer to carry things out from other stores now, too. And then my kids did all the work for dinner on Christmas. Terri brought her electric roaster with a chicken, green bean casserole and sw. potatoes. Also sweet treats and a beautiful chocolate Trifle. Jerry's girlfriend didn't come, but sent a crockpot of cheesy potatoes and trays of beautiful candies, cookies and all sorts of things, including a plate of Rosettes. Never had so much food on our table in our lives.
Matthew and Terri gave me a new monitor, but it doesn't help getting to the GN any faster. Marv didn't take part in much conversation, just sat and listened. This is the 62nd Christmas we have spent together and for that alone, I was very grateful. Not much other news around here. I will be going to my Caregiver's support group this afternoon.
We meet once a month and just chat and laugh. It is a fun time.
I never take my Christmas decorations down until Epiphany and as I am hostessing our Circle meeting on Jan. 3, it means my house will be all decorated yet. I still have to think of what to serve, as they have all decreed we should only serve ONE item. I don't know how to do just one! I can't recall who posted as I goofed and Xed off the GN page. Too long to redo it! I do know Grammy is coughing. Hope you get better soon. Maybe you have been overdoing it for the holidays. I will try and stop at least once a week. Lily
s and a swarm of fancy treats, three big plates full of a wide variety. I had made cookies, coffee cakes, pies and two salads. Never had so much food in our house before. I just sat and enjoyed it all.
Good morning! Thank you for wearing your mask, Grammy, wish the people here at work would follow your example. I can hear people talking about how sick they are and cough, cough, cough! Why did they come to work, SIGH!!!! But get well fast!
Had a challenge getting out of our driveway this morning. DH had to change a tire on the vehicle with the plow so hadn't done that. He shoveled some and told me to go in the path. He stood on the road and watched for vehicles. He told me to go and then waved his arm, which I thought he was telling me a car was coming so I stopped. Wrong, wrong, wrong! No car, #$@%#, stuck, shovel, GOOOOO!
Our road wasn't that great either but I'm sure by the time I go home the plow will have went plus DH will have the driveway squeaky clean.
DD is coming today. Now I have to figure something for supper. DH made a delicous pot of turkey noodle soup yesterday so maybe he can make another or rice soup. Everyone likes that!
Well, I think it is time for me to do a mailing so I will talk to you all later.
I got the driveway cleaned off with the snowblower and a little muscle with the shovel. I must be getting old as that snowblower is getting harder to push.
A little change in plans for today. DD & I are going out to lunch with DM. It will be our special holiday lunch that we do every year. It's been nice that DD has been able to go with us the past few years.
So nice to see Lily today. I sure hope she does come back more often. It's just not the same without her.
Grammy...sure hope you rest and get better quick.
I'll check back later......
Good morning It's almost noon time. We got a little snow yesterday. Supposed to have gotten alot of rain, but it never happened. Maybe a storm on Saturday.
LLLily Nice to see you here.
Hi Grannies ...
Lots of snow, then rain and now snow again. Suppose to get down into the 20's by late afternoon so everything wll freeze over again. I think we got about 6 inches or so. Just a nice day to stay put. Doing some laundry, reading and surfing the net... and...some cookie snacking, too. More snow for Sat. but I'm hoping NOT as DD's are going to visit our DS and family on the North shore. Kids are going too, but Jim and I won't make the trip this time. They are delivering all of our Christmas presents!
Nice to see LILY here today. So glad she had such a nice holiday with her family. :)
Good afternoon, Grannies.
First time I've had to sit down and see what's going on in the neighborhood. Felt better, so got some errands done and then it was lunch time.
MJ, you were an early bird, for sure.
JANE, take it easy by those snowy walking parts. If someone is near, ask them for a hand. I have done that a few times. You're right about TV. Shows we watch are over and there are many reruns on.
FRAN, the vacuum sealers sure come in handy. We do that with all our meat and some veggies. Hope all is well after seeing the ortho. Watching the polka show, you sure hear how different the music is in other parts of the midwest.
GLEE, my girls were "car and truck" girls. They had dolls, too, but loved the vehicles. I still have over 50 of their little cars from way back when. Does that Hot Wheels Track go up the wall?
GRAMMY, guess the germies are all over the neighborhood. Still not up to "snuff" here, but hoping we'll be working on all pistons by the time we leave for IL, tomorrow. Rest and get well.
MAMMA, gas is up a dime here, too. We have a nice dinner (lobster and steak), then church, and the neighbors always have us over on NYE. Nothing wild or late. Decorations are up here until Epiphany. One BIL is Greek, so sometimes we would help him celebrate then, too.
CJAY, no snow to blow here, maybe a little tomorrow. But, I did the bank thing and had one med to pick up. What a nice lunch for you, DD, and your DM.
JAN, I didn't start that ruffley scarf, yet. I did check directions on youtube. com. And, my friends that make them like the Starbella yarn the best.
Nice surprise, LILY. Glad you had a good family get-together. Sure had lots of good food and treats.
WANDA, sorry you got stuck today. Guess saying "rats" and "biggety-bosh" helped along with some shoveling. A pot of soup will be very satisfying on a cold and snowy day.
Hi, ICOOK. If the worst of the storm passes you by, that's a good thing.
We have bags of gifts ready to go to IL. Clothes duffles are ready, too. It's great that Laura doesn't work late on Friday.
Good afternoon grannies,
I am trying to get Jamie to take a nap, but he is not settling down very well, also he is coughing and I don't think that helps him sleep.
Hope the grannies out east are taking it safely if they are out and cuddling in if they are home.
Grammy, hope you are feeling better, a blanket and a book are good things.
I am glad Lily stopped in and it sounds like she had a good Christmas, the kids brought a wonderful meal and nice to have them around. Also glad to hear she is going to a support group and still hosting the circle.
Not much else new, did a lot of playing this morning and I am sure more to come later. We are having leftover tenderloin from Christmas and potato and vegetables for dinner. DD will come for dinner and to pick up Jamie and hopefully to show her dad how to upload music to the new IPod I got him for Christmas
Have a good evening, not sure if I will be back or not
