May 31, 2011 -- Granny Neighborhood

Hi Wanda. I like the wind, but what we've had the past two days are just too much. Everyone is complaining about it, as you just cannot be outside long and impossible to do anything. Even the DH of my Amish friend said it is hard to work the horses in the fields in this wind. And they seldom let anything deter them from work! LOL He was helping Mary in the greenhouse today. It is to let up and be around 10 to 15 mph tomorrow. I plan to stay in and clean house and laundry. Haven't done anything worthwhile the past two days. Made an appt. for a badly needed hair cut and perm for Thur. morning and will fix my food for evening that afternoon. No gardening plans until Fri. But I do have lots of plants to set out now.

Glee, as you live in town maybe the winds won't feel as strong to you as they are out here. Do you get along well with the new DIL to be? It wasn't just morning, we left at 9:15 and home at almost 4 p.m! We move slowly! LOL

Yes my family is growing and I am really enjoying that fact.

I do like my DDIL to be, she is a very lay back type of personality which will be a good compliment to DS who tends to be a little more uptight.  The true test is that DD likes her soon to be DSIL, and she is hard to please

Well Grammy and Glee I got a celtic cross pendant with peridot and blue topaz and white mother of pearl, a fire opal ring in a spray design and a saphhire bracelet that is three rows of stones. I don't know how many stones are in it but there are lots of them. I wanted one for a long time as it is my birthstone.  After doing all of that ordering I changed the channel lol . Heck they are showing artisan crafted jewelry right now so I am not turning around to look LOL . When it comes to jewelry I am weak and give in to my wants LOL .

#1 is  here packing my stuff! We were working in the garage this morning, when I came in, I found a big puddle of water on the kitchen floor. I came from the fridge! We checked everything. Finally found water standing in the bottom under the veggie drawers.  It was full and running over. I cleaned it out and since have found more collecting there. I don't know where it could come from. It's a seamless liner in there except under the freezer. Can't find any water dripping in from there! Prob need a repairman tomorrow. Everything is cold and frozen

I wish they would make it last post first too, but I would be happy to see the next page. I have to post after Post 15 in order to access the next page! My computer, I suppose.

LOL, today was cooler, only 79*. DH wore a sweatshirt and I wore a sweater over my blouse! Now all the windows and doors are closed!!

I started to sew another quilt top this evening and made two mistakes right away so figured that was a sign to quit and I did.  Now I'll take a shower in a little bit and call it a day.  Hope tomorrow is a little less hot, less humidity would be nice too.  All we did this evening was sat on the porch and drank iced tea.  Didn't even cook...too hot.  I had leftovers and DH just snacked around.  Now I'm getting hungry.  A tomato sandwich with some onion sounds very good.

Oh, LILY, you need to be here! It's is hot and humid! The AC has been running. It's in the 90s and humidity is just terrible I haven't had time to ck the TV weather today.

MJ, I am looking for a necklace with sapphire (not necessarily real) as my dress for the wedding is navy blue, I want the chain to be silver not gold, haven't found anything I like yet.

Grammy, hope the fix for the fridge is easy.

MJ, jewelry sounds very nice. I like sparkly, too.

Lily, I just have regular glasses and put snap on sunners if I want sunglasses. I also have that big pair that goes over regular glasses. We got those when Russell had his cataract surgery.

Grammy, sorry about the water problem. Good thing you have someone with you to help.

Grammy, I don't know how anyone can be packing in this heat.  Hope you all are drinking lots of water and taking many SSDs.

Grammy is your refigerator a frost free model? I think they have a collection pan to catch water and as humid as it has been maybe the evaporation process can't keep up . I hope it is an easy fix. I asume the frig is staying with the house. Itis good that you have help packing itis not a fun job to do alone. Sometimes it helps to have a second opinion on what to save and what to get rid of LOL . It is good to have an extra set of muscles to a set that is younger than ours LOL . I am trying to remember are you moving to the Columbus area?  I have some friends there that I used to work with .

I to wish we could read backwards with the last post first. Everytime I post I have to scroll down to get to the current post and that takes a little while to do.

Grammy, sorry about the fridge. Hope it isn't a major repair, now you are leaving. Is it staying with the house?

I checked my blood pressure at WM today. Haven't done that for a while. It read 116/69, which is good, but my pulse rate was 106! Of course that was after walking all around the store trying to find something to buy. Didn't have any luck, except some oil mix for our weedwacker! LOL Don't even know why we go in there anymore!

Going to go now, time to call DM and I need that shower really bad.  (That's a grammar error, huh?)

ATV, don't I know the day is fast approaching.  Plans are fine, as mother of the groom, not much for me to do and it is a small wedding only about 50 guests, I am sure we will get busier closer to the actual day
