Good morning.A warm, humid, cloudy morning. We are at 70º and you could drink the air it's so humid. hehe I'm not that thirsty though.Mark finished mowing the lawn after supper last night so that job is done. It's suppose to get hotter and more humid in the days ahead so am glad that job is done now. Each day could bring storms too. That is not good.
Hopefully I can get some cleaning done, make another batch of vanilla ice cream, spaghetti sauce and so some sewing. Mark asked for spaghetti for dinner tomorrow. The kids won't be here until later Sunday. They are going to Valley Fair. Lincoln got tickets at half price so he and Patrick with spend the hot day getting wet and having fun on rides. Mark plans on spending most fo the Sunday sleeping. hehe
Good to see that Marv is ok, but surprised that he came home if the doctor didn't want him too. Lily you have your hands full and I pray every day that you have the strength to face each challenge. I was so happy to hear that Terry is helping you.Have a great weekend.

Good Morning. Looks like everyone is sleeping in this Saturday morning. Wish we could but DH has to be at the hospital between 8 and 10 for a blood draw. Why so early? Our blood doesn't start running that early!
Mamma, the hospital can't keep you if you INSIST on leaving and the way DH was yelling and carrying on I'm sure they were glad to kick him out! We all tried talking to him, but there is no reasoning with him anymore (about anything!!!) Like I say, NOT the man I married! Thank you, I don't know about the strength, it's just that one does what one has to.
My computer says 67*, but it is so gray and heavy looking out. and is so chilly and damp in here, I have goosebumps. Rain and thunderstorms today, but better tomorrow. Say we are apparently in an active pattern of storms for the coming week. Oh, my, how the weeds will grow!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good morning Lily & Mamm & all to come. No news here to tell. Just the same old thing. Cooking or cleaning. Oh forgot laundry too. Making a pot of spaghetti sauce for supper. That's what DH wants.
LILY How is Marv doing today?
Good Morning Ladies - - - I've been up awhile, but just getting to the hood - - I slept pretty good until 4 and then rested and cat napped after that. It's dark and dreary here too, but I haven't opened the door, so don't know how it feels. I put the A/C on when I came home from the Dr. yesterday. Thought I needed the cool air. The house wasn't real bad, so didn't take all that long to cooled it down, but I just thought it was time for it. If not, I want to open up, and I didn't think that was a good idea. Had a few things to take care of before I came here, so not hte washer is running, and I'm having a second cup of French Vanilla coffee and some ruhbarb bread that came out of the freezer - - For some reason, ruhbarb has really hit the spot for me this year. I may treat myself, or not , to fresh raspberries - - they are 2/$4.00 at the one store this week. I know those packages aren't very big, but they are so good. My sis told me she had picked over 100 qt. of strawberries from her patch this year, so guess the frost didn't hurt them any.
Hope it was a restful night for the both of you, Lily, even if you had to get up before you liked. it's hard to deal with a person when their mind is so determined - -
Sounds like spaghetti is the food of choice in the hood for the weekend - - Mary and Mamma you both will have some good eats - - for me, open a jar and pour over bround burger works just fine~ Don't know what I will have - I know there are no leftovers - - I had the last bowl of micro soup for supper last night, that I had bought for taking to lunch when I stayed in at work over the winter. I've deceided on the salad for Mon. and it's either going to be a cuke, onion, tomato, green pepper salad or the BLT macaroni one - depending on the condition of the cukes -- Whenever I want to make a cuke salad, I try to have a back up plan in mind, in case they aren't worth bring home!
Just a quite weekend here - that's okay with me too -- Maybe go see DS and maybe not.
It just started raining here -- We need it so badly, I hope it keeps up for a good shower. I was going to the store, but don't have to go right now, so will settle in and wait until later. I always think it's too bad when it rains on the weekend, as their are usually many community activities, but since we need it so badly, I'll take exception to it this time. I know it is the weekend celebration in the little town I grew up by today - Hard on a parade in the rain.
It just started to rain here too Jane. The ballpark around the corner has people leaving. Not sure if the game was postponed or the spectators didn't want to get wet. hehe Tomorrow is our big parade and it sounds hot and very sticky. There will be lots of water pistols and squirt bottles then. hehe
I just finished putting the sauce on to simmer, vanilla ice cream is done and in the freezer. Now I have a mess of dishes to do. After that I hope to get some dusting done, at least clean the bathroom.
Gooooooooood Morning, Grannies!!
It would be nice if it started raining here. But it doesn't look like that will happen soon. There is some rain on the radar way over by MN, but it never seems to get here.
Lily, Prayers that you both had a good night and will have a good day.
Jane, I'm glad you had a good nights sleep while it lasted.
Not much going on here. I will do a little cleaning as DS#2 said they would come and grill for dinner but had to have boys by X's at 2:00. Then DS#1 called and said they were maybe coming. It would be great if they could both be here at the same time even if it were only for a short time. They have not been together since DS#2 said they were gettting a divorce. Though the big problem seems to be with DIL#1. I hope she can get over the problem. But never know with her.
I hung the laundry out hoping it will dry. It is cloudy, but breezy so that should help.
Time to feed the hummers. They sure are a hungry group. Also scrappy little buggers. BTW, I don't boil my sugar water, only nuke it until the sugar dissolves.

Good morning Grannies; oops its afternoon almost. Girls are in the pool I believe although its still filling up. That's ok with them though. DF is up early so they must be out there watching. Dd is doing washing and I'm doing ...my bed. Nothing else. Taking things I don't use out of my closet; things I won't wear and such; no need to keep them. May work on the scarf some more.
Lily: I do pray that Marv has a better day today as then its a better day for you. That certainly is a lot for Mike to go thru.
Gb: Don't overdo things yourself either; sounds like your son and Lily's are about the same.
Hope all have a pleasant day....
Back again, I've accomplished a lot this morning scrubbed the other half of the garage as best I could since it has a lot of my ex's stuff. I can't move the stuff as much is too heavy, but at least it looks better. I also weeded the flower bed, took Nora for a walk, wow is it hot out there, had a quick sandwhich, and did a load of laundry.
I'm ready for a rest, but may go for a drive instead. I saw a new oak amish made sleighback bedframe in a shop and have admired it for a long time. It's marked down 50% which makes it a great deal. It's just a double but works with the mattress I have and would be nice in my second guest room. I also saw a nice antique dresser a while back which would work perfectly. Perhaps neither will be there, but the drive will be nice anyway.
My son from New York called. They'd like to come out at the end of June for about a week. I probably didn't sound very enthused as the kids will be working on their house and as you know things are kind of strained here as well, but of course I couldn't say no. I'm sure he wants to see what shape his dad is in as they were coming in October for the wedding.
Well better take a load of laundry from the dryer, just cleaning rags. Have a good afternoon and keep cool. Sharon F.
The shower didn't last as long as necessary, but every little bit helps - there was another short one later. Maybe more as the day go's on.
Sharon F. it will be nice to see DS twice - when they are so far away, the visits are never long enough. I also meant to tell you that I am on Medicare and a supplement, and have, so far, been happy with the results. About the time that I could go on Medicare, work went to a different plan, with high deductable and health savings accounts. Since I was not eligible for the health savings account, it was a no brainer to go on Medicare. I was strongly considering it anyway, so that in case something happened that I would no longer be able to work, I would have it all taken care of. I'm glad that I did.
Well, guess I'll head out to Fareway now, and get my salad makings and something to have here as well. I made a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch, but it's time to shop.
Hi Grannies. It's warm and getting humid around here. We might get some showers tonight and tomorrow. We really do need rain. Next week temps will be in the 90s. Another morning to head for the door early. DD, DGD, Soraya and I went to a little town about 10 miles away to get steaks for tomorrow. There is a little market there with shelves so high I can't reach the top. Aisles so narrow you hardly pass another shopper. They have a wonderful fresh meat supply at good prices. We get their weekly ad so we stock up on some things when we go there. After that we went to a local livestock auction. The auction is held the 3rd Sat of each month. Very interesting for us. We were looking for chickens and bought 8 pullets. They should start laying in the next few weeks. Seven of them are barred rock with one white one. Cute story, A little boy about 4 yrs old was standing there looking at the chickens as we waited to pay. DGD said 7 are barred rock I wonder what the white one is? The little boy said "it's a chicken" He was sooo cute and so serious with his response. Home to unload and have lunch then dd and I did some grocery shopping. My Bible Study group is invited here for a cook out tonight. I needed a few things for that and we always need groceries for this family! I have no idea how many will be here I said I will have hamburgers and hotdogs others will bring something to go with those. I do have all the toppings for burgers and dogs. Now rest time is almost over, people should arrive around 5 so I better move on to the next thing. I do read all the posts, sometimes I just go dashing thru here without a reply to any of you. You're all in my heart and in my prayers.
With every shower the humidity just goes higher. It is horrible outside but the softball games are still going strong. Not that I'm watching, I couldn't care less. hehe
Jane, I had a grilled cheese too. I just couldn't think of anything else that I wanted. It really hit the spot too. When the raspberries are that price I get them too. We can get 4 servings out of two containers. Mmmmmm.
No idea what to make for supper. I'm hungry but everything I can think of requires the oven and NO way am I turning the oven on and I don't want to stand by the hot grill either. Our a/c unit is over 40 years old and I'm not going to make it work any harder then it already is working. I surely do wish Mark liked cold salads. He eat sandwiches in his lunch during the week so I don't want to make them on the weekends too. He gets sick of them soon enough. hehe
I see it's clouding up again, I hope that doesn't mean the humidity will rise again. It's 80% humidity, dew point at 70 and 84*. Augh. I could go for a wind chill factor about now. LOL
Grammy, I think we all do that, sometimes, we don't have the time to reply, sometimes, we forget by the time we are done reading and ready to type, and sometimes, we just can't say what the heart is feeling. On the other hand, sometimes, we just can't quit talking! Have fun tonight. Nice of you to be the gracious hostess.
Mamma, we have a nice breeze here - - I think it would be okay if I opened up, but I'm not going to. It's comfortable, so I'm going to leave it at that, even though I like things open. I bought a small container of chicken salad, so likely will have a chicken salad sandwich on a sandwich round for supper. I bought some grapes and have them stemmed and washed, so will make the grape salad. Didn't get to the store with the raspberries, but I can go there tomorrow. The BLT pasta salad won out for tomorrow - got the tomatoes and have a package of bacon thawing. Guess it's time to get the clothes out of the dryer and put away. They will soon think they live there, as I did them about 9 this morning!
Good afternoon, getting cloudy, so hope we're going to get some rain. Not fun walking Nora due to the humidity. My daughter in Ames got an inch of rain last night and it was badly needed.
My ex came home and is quite ill with extreme back pain. He says he didn't lift or do anything to injure it. He also has the continuing diarrhea and has eaten only yogurt for several days. He refuses to go to ER. I'm worried that he might have pancreatitis with the drinking and lymphoma. Hope his stubborness doesn't land us in the hospital during the night.
I keep thinking about Lily and Marv. I'm so lucky to have five of my seven children in town and three are boys. My one daughter who can usually rein her dad in lives a couple of hours away. Hopefully Marv is resting after his overnight in the hospital and the boys will realize their mom needs their frequent visits.
I have a few leftovers to use up tonight, meat loaf and will fry up the baked potatoes. I don't think of fried potatoes often.
I got out of the house for a couple of hours, walked around our smaller mall and looked for a dress for the October wedding. Sarah's mom is wearing one of two dresses she bought earlier this spring and both are tea length, which gives me something to start with. I guess I don't completely have my heart in this wedding as of all my kids this relationship worries me. Last year Ryan's dad was ill during our other wedding and this doesn't seem to any less of concern this time.
It'll be a long evening as my TV on the porch needs to be recaliberated as my daughter turned it off at the TV itself rather than use the remote. So now it needs to redone and I'm not smart enough to do it. I do have the small kitchen set but not real comfortable sitting in the kitchen and he'll have the one on in the family room. Maybe I'll download a book to my Kindle. Sharon F.
