Good Monday morning grannies,
I can't believe I am the one opening the door today, but it is back to work for me so have to get a move on.
Jane, I will be thinking of you this afternoon and hope and pray the MRI will go well.
I had some of Debbie's good bread for breakfast this morning, hope we hear from MJ and that she arrived home OK.
Have a great day everyone and I will check back later
GU
Good Morning...
It's a pretty morning....the sun is shining and the air is much cooler. Feels great.
The Detroit/Windsor fireworks are tonight over the river. I'll probably watch them on tv like I always do.
GU...it's always hard to get back into the swing of the regular routine after a fun weekend.
My garden fence is now complete and looks so nice.
Was nice to hear all the fun you gals had over the weekend. It's always fun to meet our grannie friends. Will there be pictures to share with us???
Greenback...thinking good thoughts for you today as you have the MRI.
We are having Tim Horton day today instead of tomorrow. We'll discuss when and if we can find a date to go up to our co-workers cottage. We are thinking maybe it will be the end of this week. Seems we are having trouble finding a date when we can all be there. Lots of conflicts and vacations are getting in the way...LOL
I'm thinking about baking some peanut butter cookies today. I love Mamma's recipe. It's the only one I'll use as they always turn out great.
Guess I'll get my coffee and head out to the swing. I think I'll need a sweatshirt this morning....it's only 60 right now. But I'm not complaining......the 90's are coming back later in the week.
Good morning.
It looks like everyone but Glee is sleeping in this morning. It's cool enough this morning that I opened the house and turned off the a/c. Keep thinking Christmas Wanda, I like this cooler weather much better. LOL If the humidity stays down I should be able to leave the house open until Tuesday evening or sometime on Wednesday. Then it's back into the 90's. Last night I had to set my alarm to make sure I got up earlier. Buddy goes in to the vet to have his teeth cleaned. His breath is just awful and he is itching his mouth. I'm hoping the a good cleaning will maybe be help with the allergies as well. I know unhealthy teeth can cause all kind of health problems. Buddy is having a hard time understanding why he has not gotten a treat or anything since 8 last night. Makes me feel badly.
Praying for you today Jane, as you go through another MRI!!!
I've got the washer full of dark clothes and with luck I can get it all on the lines before I take Buddy to the clinic. All should dry nicely today.
Now I better get dressed and find something for breakfast.
Have a wonderful day!

Just noticed the date on today's post....today is the 25th. Let's not make the summer go faster than it already is...LOL Lily posted the wrong date yesterday....so that threw us off...
Gooooooooooooood Morning, Grannies!
What a beautiful start to what should be a beautiful day.
Jane, prayers that the MRI will go well.
It sounds like the grannies had a great time. I hope we see a picture or two of the event.
The same amount of nothing going on here. I have a bag of short ends of yellow fabric so I will make a quilt top form that. Mostly plain pieces so will try to work that around one small print piece.
But first I should bake something. I have to see what ingredients I have for that job.
Hugs for everyone.

Good Morning all
Well I am not home yet we stopped in New Buffalo as we thought we had been on the road long enough and we wanted to try the casino here. We will go there in a little while. Could I get lucky twice??? Probably not.
Jane good luck with the MRI and may the news be good.
Traffic around Chicago was good no hold ups but we had a long traffic jam earlier. When we finally passed the accident it looked like a speed boat had flown off the trailer it was on. Sure looked like a nice boat now gone bad.
When we get through playing at the casino we only have about 150 miles to go to get home I guess the fur kids will have to stay until tomorrow at the kennel.
Ok now I am going back to my room to see if Miss slug-A-bed is up ant at em yet. Probably not. I should be home by chat time tonight for sure. Unlike all the working grannies I don't have a job to make me stop playing. so are you jealous LOL.
MJ
Good morning, grannies.
Been home since last evening. Have the washer humming already ---- trailer sheets, etc. drying----woodsy clothes being washed.
Hi, GLEE. Happy you had a safe and super trip.
MAMMA, only one line in my yard and I use it for throw rugs, jeans sometimes and miscellaneous items. Otherwise my dryer is used. I don't like stiff towels from outside. Buddy will have a sparkling smile-----doggy breath is not good.
CJAY, I saw fireworks the other night. A neighbor at the trailer, about 1/4 mile away was sending some up in the air. Had a good 20 minute show. No matter what day it's a TH Day, it's good.
MJ, continued good luck and safe travels, today.
Cathy was tired and hurting when we visited, but improving daily. Up north, it was greeting tons of relatives at the visitation. Russell's sibling were there too, except the sister in Chicago. This was their only aunt on DM's side and a real favorite. Church service was nice, played and sang Aunt Jo's favorite songs, In the Garden and The Old Rugged Cross. After the lunch, more visiting and then to one of her sons for more visiting. It was in a huge semi garage as he and his brother have a trucking business. Russell's girl cousins laid out all of Aunt Jo's jewelry and all the girls could choose what they wanted. She had over 25 grandchildren and 54 great-grands. 2 great-greats, also. Guess I was rambling on.
Praying for JANE and the MRI, today.
More busyness for us this whole week. BBL
Good Morning Ladies - - I have about 45 min. before my ride picks me up and I'm on my way -- MJ, i'd rather be going to work than where I'm going! Glad you stopped and spent the night - Hope you got a first floor room this time. I thought that sounded like a pretty ambitious trip for the time you were starting out. Good luck today, and drive carefully the rest of the way. Glee, I had the same wonderful breakfast that you had - then I put most of the rest in the freezer and some back in the frig. I put some slices in little baggies so I can take to work for my break. Yummy-Yummy!
I slept good last night - It must be that I was so contented after our fun weekend. Debbie I bet you and Mike are tired today. DId you get your walk in?
Gram, the yellow quilt sounds pretty - I know you will come up with a pretty arrangment using what you have to work with.
Cjayh, I hope you can get your little getaway arranged. It's so good for all of us to have a break in the routine of our lives.
Mamma, hope Buddie does well at the clinic - I was gone before I got your message about the forks but I still don't see anything in there - maybe she was just checkning things out again. Seems late to be making a nest now - - I'm sure going to rememeber that trick though.
Thanks for the good wishes for today - I think I can use all I can get! Have a great day.
Hi Nancy - I missed you - - both this morning and over the weekend. I'm sure the girls loved get a piece of the jewelery to remember Aunt Jo. With that many Grands, there probably wasn't enought for you to get a piece too. Hope Cathie continues on her recovery and will not have to have too much pain.
Good morning, much cooler for at least one day. Windows are open and nice to have the breeze and songbirds with background music. I've been to the store and picked up tooth paste, can't believe I was down to the last tube and also picked up some fruit for Lexi.
It sounds like the the Grannie meet was lots of fun and glad everyone is home or nearing home. I didn't get to the nursing reunion, too much going on here and on top of it I had a terrible stomach ache, think it's nerves as there is so much going on and now the son will arrive from New York.
I've pretty much decided to just deep clean their bedroom, my master, and surface clean the family room and kitchen. With everyone here five minutes after they get here you'd think I never did a thing. My bathrooms and quest rooms are always clean and no one goes into the living room or dining room during the summer. I can't get a lot done with Lexi here, a good excuse!
We may take off for the zoo. Lexi's grandpa is really feeling better and since it's so cool a golden day presents itself. We're waitng to hear if Will wants to go, because it's kind of silly to go for one child. He's almost seven and is beginning to want to do things with his friends. He's still sleeping.
Jane, I know laying in the MRI scanner is no fun, but hopefully worth getting to the bottom of your back problem and ultimately improving your leg strength as well. I I imagine surgery is probably the only choice. You're such a busy, going gal you deserve getting permament relief.
Lily, I bet your're really chilly this morning. Nora snuggled so close to me last night that I was too warm, guess it's her summer hair cut. If we don't go to the zoo I should do some baking. The bananas are just perfect. Guess I'll wash and pack some fruit in case we do the zoo, maybe will end up just taking a picnic lunch to a local park here.
Well, must make myself useful. Got thrown off by the post and called my daughter at her office a day early to wish her a happy birthday. Have a great summer day. Sharon F.
Ok all is packed and in the car I just need to check out. Luci and I are both using the house computers she plays a timed game and is getting it set up for the day so she does not have to do anything to it until we get home. The connection here is so fast we are both jealous. They have really nice computers and set up in an area convienent to business men as well. Sort of half walls around the computers for privacy really nice and I have never seen such clean key boards LOL. no crumbs or coffee drips anywhere. They also have a fax and copy machine available for use.
Ok I am off to see if I can lose a few bucks but sure hope lady luck hits e twice lol .
Nancy it sounds like you all had a lovely celebration of Aunt Jo's life. Good to hear that Cathy is doing fine. Tell her to relax and let her body heal you just can't rush these things.
Svede good day planned for you I love a zoo just about better than anything else. I am worse that kids were to watch the Critters my youngest DD is the same way well so is Luci but I am the worst lol.
Luci is almost done so time to get my wiggle on and see if I can win some jingle.
Good morning grannies. It's a beautiful day in this corner of the 'hood. Bright sunshine a few clouds drifting around and a nice breeze. Temp will stay in the 70s we still need rain!
Greenback hope the MRI goes well for you today. I'm sure you are all still smiling as you remember the fun you had in PDC. Those meeting just leave you with your heart filled and overflowing with love.
GU so glad to hear that you are safe at home again and it's back to the everyday stuff now. I hope someone will share pictures of the get together.
CJ hope the deer don't find a way into your garden. No fence here but so far no sign that they have been feasting on any garden things. Time with the co workers sounds like fun time! It's really hard to find a date when everyone can take part in something.
Mamma I was up at the usual time that's around 6. I just have trouble getting here earlier! I hope the doggie breath will be gone with a good cleaning. DGD brushes Lena's teeth. MJ glad you checked in with us. We like to know that our traveling grannies are safe. Hope you head home with your pockets full$$$$
Gram baking and quilting sounds like you have plenty to keep you busy! What do you do with the quilts?
ATV good to know you are home also. You covered a lot of miles in a short time. I hope dds recovery is uneventful.
Not much going on here today that involves me. I had the usual Monday morning Soraya time. We made Banana butter, which this family loves. We call it Monkey Butter bet you all know where we got that name! I'm a bit tired this today I'll find some lunch then sit a while this afternoon.
Boy, oh boy, does being gone even one day from work make a difference! My desk is PILED! Anyway, wanted to belatedly wish Jane the very best on the MRI today. I'm thinking of you, my friend. No, I didn't get my walk in. By the time I watered, unpacked, ate a bite, got some laundry going and got the mail and the papers gone through, it was 9:45 and Mike kind of looked at me like are you crazy when I mentioned hitting the elliptical or treadmill. That was enough to convince my little bit of willpower to come back again another day--LOL!
We sure are missing the moderate temps from this weekend. It got to 100 hear yesterday and when I ran out at noon it is 96 already! Eli was supposed to have swimming lessons tonight followed by his second and last baseball game and DD just called that she is on her way home with him. Babysitter called and he has a fever. She said his eyes looked bad all weekend and he has a gunky nose, but she was hoping it was from the daily swimming lessons he had last week. We're assuming it's another one of his nasty sinus infections. So, the game is probably a no-go for tonight although both Eli and his mom are hoping that he'll still get to play. They were both so looking forward to it. His little ballfield is in a shady spot, but even so on a day like today, it could be miserable out there!
Thank you again to Jane for all the planning for this weekend and for the wonderful lunch and hospitality all weekend. Also for my sweet birthday card and ladies, I wish you could have shared some of the wonderful dessert that Jane made using those black caps she'd been talking about for Glee and me! What a treat!
Time to turn my attention to my piled-high desk. Love to all.
P. S. I will try to post a couple of pictures, but we didn't take very many--we were too busy talking!
Had a real nice time at TH with the school ladies....and we finally found a time when we can all go to the cottage. We are even extending it by another day....so more time for fun and games....YEA!
I just finished baking the peanut butter cookies.....yum...they are so good....melt in your mouth good.
GrammyDebbie...oh, poor Eli. I'm sure he will not like having to miss his ball game.
Almost time to start getting supper ready. It will be baked salmon, oven roasted potatoes and 3 bean salad.
About 2 hours ago the clinic called and said Buddy is doing fine. They had to extract two teeth, my poor baby. That may have been the cause of such terrible breath and the other allergy like issues he has had. Infections can go through your whole body left untreated. I do know if at all possible he will not wait more then 1.5 years for his next dental examine. The gal said I can pick him up at 3:45. They will go over what they did and found. And I imagine some antibiotics and pain pills too. He is sooo good about taking pills. I just put them in a little chunk of bread with peanut butter and down they go. Our pug, Pepsi, was smart, she could eat the treat and spit out the pill. LOL Gosh I still miss Pepsi terribly. All the ironing is done for the day. Tomorrow more wash so there will be more ironing.Hamburgers on the grill for supper tonight. Not sure what I'll have with them. Got too much sodium this weekend so have to be extra good today. Maybe just fresh strawberries for dessert. I've got lots of fresh veggies to add crunch to the meal too.
Nancy, I know the girls will treasure the jewelry. I have some from my one grandma and favorite aunt that I cherish.
Opps gotta get to the phone.
