Good Morning Ladies
Sorry I didn't make it to join in on the chat last night, but after late shift, I was just to tired and sore and had a head ache, to fell very socialable. I got really busy at the last end, and didn't have a chance to count out ahaead of time. I came home and got in my shorts, and had a pepsi, and then later a cup of chili and that pretty much too care of my evening. I did have half an eye on the O's, until the gymnastic's came on again - I watch that and went to bed. Wasn't the best nights sleep, but I'm not complaining, was up 3 times. If I had thought about it, I'd have taken this morning off, as I work Sat. morning for one of the officers inside, so could have done that. Didn't think of it, until I didn't want to get up this morning. I am really noticing the daylight change this week.
Sorry about your sore back Lily - Hope today is a better day.
laurie, good to know you are home again - I'm sure you have a ton of stuff to do to get ready for school. Glad to hear your DF is doing well.
Nancy, glad to hear that VBS is going well too - - With all of the working parents, you have to have it when you have the manpower to do it -- I guess I should have said women power, as I know that's what it usually consists of .
MJ you are probably already at the election - - Have fun. Luci will miss her nurse today. Glad she's doing well. Are things going okay for Liz too?
Mary, hope you get that good news on the house today - also on the medical tests.
Cleo always good to hear the first day of school went well -- Have fun watching the football games this fall.
Well, I know I didn't hit everyone, but thinking of all of you. Have a good day, all.
Good Morning GB - Missed you last night, but remembered it was your long day. We got pretty good showers last night and things look a lot perkier this morning. Time for my steamy hot walk.
Good morning, grannies.
Looks to be the hottest day of the week, could be 90.
JANE, I figured you were tired after your late night at work. That's when you need to put your feet up and just rest. At VBS we have helpers who are moms, grannies, teens (girls and boys) and yes, even 4 dads. The Food Tent is interesting. So far they served fruit and nuts, last night it was different leavened and unleavened breads and tonight----it will be "locusts".
Oh, oh, CLEO, a steamy walk will be like walking in a sauna. Take care as you go along and drink your water.
LILY, how's the back feeling this morning?
This morning, Laura and I will be tossing some old craft supplies. The box will go to the Goodwill and some to the church's preschool.
Planning a bigger meal for lunchtime, again. BBL
Was not as steamy a walk as usual, but was foggy. We get lots of fog from the swamp really near us. One of my friends who walks with us has gotten a bad report from her mammogram. Please put her on your prayer list. This is after she went back for a second scan. Also saw that a boy in school when my DS was (actually a man now) is in jail for big and bad things. Say he will probably be in jail for 100 yrs. Feeling thankful for my blessings. Today is lunch with the 'church girls'. That will be fun. DH is proceeding with his painting. Thought I had posted all this before, but something happened, and it's not here. Sooo... guess I punched the wrong button?
Good Morning...
Another pleansant morning. Going to heat up this afternoon.
I'm heading to church to help set up for the rummage sale that is this weekend. Then meeting the school ladies for lunch at Tim Horton's.
I will add prayers for all those in need today. ((( Hugs)))
I'm taking care of the neighbor's two cats while they are on vacation this week. The kitties left me a surprise this morning that I had to clean up. Neither would fess up to it. I have enough of that stuff at my house let alone having to clean up at someone else's house...LOL
Lily...hope you are feeling better today.
Well, I better get going. Have a great day everyone..........
Good morning Jane, Cleo and all to come,
Work is slow this morning and that is not good because I am feeling tired and it is better if I am busy.
Jane, I know how that can be after a late day. I was at chat last night but just reading.
ICook, great news on the house and good luck today with tests.
Lily, sorry your back is sore but hopefully the chiro can get your back on track
Got to go, prayers and hugs
GU
Good morning.
I was here earlier, but just looked in, I was too grumpy to post anything. Now I'm feeling a bit better
This morning I slept in a little more and slept good too. Washes a load of dark clothes and hung them on the lines, danced with the Dyson and made a quick WM run. By then I knew why I was grumpy..... the humidity went up and so did the temp so I wasn't feeling comfortable. I'm so sick of this heat. The a/c is back on. So much for leaving the house open this morning.
We have the Neighborhood Night Out picnic tonight. Not sure if Mark will get home in time or not. But I've got ham, oriental salad and fresh baked bread to take. Well, the bread and salad aren't made but will be at some time. hehehe The ham is left over from the church picnic and I have to get it out of the house. If there are any left overs I will offer them to someone.
Lincoln called last night and so looking forward to leaving Alabama and coming home. I told him to bring a cooler with him when he comes for Sunday dinner. He will be getting food that I have to get out of the house. Moderation is not working here, so out it goes. No more food that isn't on Marks diet. I'll explain to Lincoln when he gets home.
The cottage cheese and cantaloupe is wearing off....time to make my lunch salad.

Good morning Grannies. It's still morning but will soon be afternoon! I was busy with Soraya and a load of laundry. I stay close when the dryer is going. I start checking and removing things after about 15 minutes. I don't like ironing so get things out of the dryer folded or on a hangar ASAP! At the wedding reception Sat. they used little tiny pots of green plants on the tables for favors. All of the decorating was very pretty. There were lots of the little plants left, we were told to take all we wanted. DGD took 4 and now I have three of them, one was for Soraya. We went to the barn to find a little larger pot for a Jade plant then repotted it. She wants to take it to her room. We are still looking for something to put under the pot to catch the water. Then it will be ready to go to her room. I'll have to get the other three into something else soon, The pots are very tiny.
Greenback we love to chat with any one who feels up to it. Missed you last night but most of us know that too tired feeling. Hope it's an easy day for you.
ATV lots of help for VBS. Do you have a lot of kids. VBS is so much more fun for them now with all the Bible Times theme things along with some good bouncy music. Somebody will get some good craft things to use
CJ ick and double ick for those surprises Lunch with the ladies will be nice. Do the workers get first dibs on the sale items?
GU hope you find enough work to stay busy. Those tired feeling days always seem to be the longest days. We all drop in to read and don't feel very chatty some times.
Thinking of IC as she has the tests done today and waits to hear from the possible buyer for her house. Also hoping that Lily is having a better day.
Time for me to grab some lunch and get on the lawn mower. I believe there a still a few sandwiches left I'll have a red pepper one with the goat cheese..yum, yum.
Yes...double ick for those surprises. And when I came home from lunch with the ladies...there was a surprise here for me. Now why two in one day??? Needless to say, I'm washing a throw run now. Just glad it wasn't on my new rug in the living room.
Yes, we can shop around the rummage sale before hand and take anything we want. I found something for the preschool that I think the kids will enjoy. That's about it for me...I don't really need any of that stuff.
Lunch was nice, but it was so awfully cold in there. I could have used a jacket and I'm usually the one that's so hot. I was glad to go outside as were the others.
Going to go sit on the swing for a while and enjoy the day.
Hi, grannies.
A little warm, but no humidity like we've had other days. At least it feels that way to me.
CLEO, a good thing for you, lunch with friends. Sad news for your walking friend. I prayed for her.
CJAY, I know you don't mind tending the neighbor's kitties, but they sure did a no-no for you. Good thing it's TH day and you will be with friends just like CLEO.
GLEE, how are things going with DH at home? I always teased Russell----he could be a greeter at WM. LOL
MAMMA, the picnic will make a good night activity. If your salad is the one with ramen noodles, I love that salad. Guess I like the things with a sweet-sour dressing.
GRAMMY, the little plants was a good idea to have at the wedding. Last wedding we went to had our place cards in a silver frame. I love all the ideas people have for the tables. There are 70 kids in VBS----a bit down from last year. Mostly from our congregation and several from the neighborhood. And, yes, the music is bouncy.
Tonight is the last night for Russell's pistol league. I will miss VBS, but Laura has one of our teens to help her tonight. There will be one night off from shooting and then they have an awards night with food. I have always gone to that. This year I will know most of the people on that night.
We will have a late dinner after shooting, but after I clean up the kitchen, I will check out who's chatting.
Hello to all on another hot and dry MO afternoon. It is supposed to cool off by the end of the week and that will be so welcome.
CJ, your rummage sale sounds like ours here at our Farm Bureau parking lot that we have every September. DH says we should call it a swap meet rather than a sale because by the time those who have booths go around and see what everyone else has and buy from each other, they have basically broken even--but then we do get big crowds as it is a great place to be able to hit several sales at one place and we always have it on the same weekend as a big craft festival down the road and folks can hit both events easily.
IC, hoping the offer for the house comes through! Also that your test today goes well!
DD#2 and DSIL just left the office here, they brought his grandpa's 1936 Twin City tractor (forerunner of the Minneapolis Moline) to our building for display for the next few months. We have a huge atrium here and a few years ago started the routine of having a restored antique tractor on display for each quarter. We then do a video about the tractor and its owners and send it out by DVD to all our county offices and then do a print story which is published in our statewide magazine. It was a chore to get it in here, but everything went well and they are relieved it is inside and parked. Our front office doors fold back like a car dealership and we take the railings off our outside front steps and install ramps over the steps, tractor is started to come up the ramps and then the engine killed as it is rolled into the building. Quite a process and it is hot outside! DSIL is so proud to have it on display and get such recognition. On Friday, we have our statewide FARM-PAC endorsement session for Governor and U.S. Senate and there will be over 200 people and lots of media here to here as the candidates seek our endorsement. We have a reputation as being a Republican organization and we do endorse mostly Republicans because their philosopy is much more conservative and matches our farmers' way of thinking, but we have endorsed Democrats before so both parties very actively seek our endorsement. Anyway, the tractor will be seen by many folks and likely will be the background for many pictures with the candidates.
Speaking of the election, today is Primary Election day in Missouri. I was surprised to be only voter #26 when I voted about 7:20 this morning, I thought there would be a huge turnout but everyone I've talked to has mentioned a light turnout thus far today. DH will vote on the way home and I'll be anxious to here how it was when he stopped by.
Time to get a little more work done before heading home.
Love to all!
Good afternoon Grannies. I was here this morning and thought I posted, but I guess not. It's hot here again today, may need to shut things up and turn the AC on again. I talked to my dad this morning, he said he is feeling a bit better and goes tomorrow to have the staples removed.
I think it's a pizza night here tonight, easy and I need to use up stuff in the freezer. I had to run to a friend's today to get some computer help, so helped her with a couple of other things too. Home for the night, not expecting to go anywhere else today. I have a headache, so I think I am just going to sit for a while. Talk to you later, blessed be.
Well, home again and have my neat packed away in the freezer -- A nice amount - aAbout 4 or 5 fresh ham roast - wish they were smoked, but understand the extra expense, a nice rolled beef roast, a pkg of T-Bones, 2 big pkgs of pork chops, a couple of soup bones, probably 8-10 pkgs of brats and 2 of pork sausage, 3 pkg. bacon, 2 smoked and 1 pepper, and probably 15 pkgs of ground beef. That will last me all year, plus, once I add some chicken and turkey, ect. O, yes, there's one package of pork liver, that will go to the first person that wants it. A nice gift and i'm very grateful.
Laurie, good to hear Dads if feeling that good. Pizza sounds good.
Debbie, how exciting for SIL and all of you to have his tractor on display. His bottons will be a poppin
Don't know that I know much else - Have some dishes to do, and need to make a trip to the cemetery with my water jugs - it's gotten warm again - - Since I have some tomatoes here, I left a pkg. of bacon out - not in my diet, but just have to have a BLT this time of the year -- Has anyone tryed to toast the sandwich rounds, of are they too thin for that? I do prefer my BLT's on toast - soaks up the juice from the tomatoes.
My tests came out well. Only one polyp in my stomach. Two years for another endoscopy & five years for a colonoscopy. Sounds good to me. No news on the house yet.
H & H the next few days again. AC is back on to do it's thing.
