Indulgence no longer has to feel guilty. Go ahead, treat yourself!
Hello everyone. Wow...what a day. Bible study started this morning with the movie "A Night with the King"...story of Esther and Xerxes. We had popcorn and M&Ms to go with our coffee...breakfast of champions! LOL! Then I rushed to DD's to fax some stuff.
My surgery may or may not be on Friday. The anesthesiologist thinks I'm too complicated to do in an outpatient setting. They had not asked for medical clearance so called my PCP who gave clearance for last week's procedure and they faxed a note to surgeon's office with my labs, EKG etc. Surgeon's nurse was having lunch with the surgeon today and she's to call me back. It may be rescheduled for the 30th...I hope they can do it sooner. It's not like I don't need to make any care arrangements. Grrrr! So...I'm waiting...the minute I get more than a foot away from the phone, they'll call.
It is another pretty day here..currently 69º, sunshine and light breeze. I do believe I could sport a sunburn if I stayed out very long! I have things I need to do but just cannot get motivated today. It was a late night last night...DS and I spoke with a counselor regarding DD. Counselor is going to send us info on doing an intervention. And, of course, we all agree that DD will not change until she is ready. One step at a time....
Eating has been fair to poor. I am getting adequate water though...probably the only thing that's adequate of the good stuff!
OK...I have to accomplish something before I'm off to a church meeting tonight. I'll stop by later if I can. All this refrigerator talk is making me want a new one....not in the budget right now!

Sue, thanks for information, I think I'm going back to the store tomorrow, just to make myself feel better, and probably change to the LG french doors with the 2 drawer freezer, I love the looks of the Electrolux side/side, but I'm sure later this year they too will be going to the french doors. I guess it won't be the first/last mistake I make, lol
Here is website for Hanes, I get a catalog from Hanes about every 6 weeks. Also a phone number if you want to call.

Marti, my "dream fridge" is the LG titanium w/ the computer built into the door. The titanium looks like stainless but doesn't show fingerprints. You can keep inventory and go online w/ the computer.
Have a good day, Sue
Whew !!! I can't keep up with all these back and forth conversations today.
I'm late getting here again because I picked the 15 yr. old GD and her friend up when they got to school and brought them here to study for awhile before taking them back and then I ran some errands. Of course, I had all my chores to do when I got home.
The girls live 20 mi. out so have to ride the school bus in. They didn't have to go to school today until later, and the high school is less than a mi. from our house so that's why they wanted to come here.....I guess.......doesn't eveyone want to come here ?
Yesterday, Landen said Grandpa. Well, he said, "Bampa". He loves DH and wanted to follow him around. Then I decided he should call Dh "PaPa" since he has so many other Grandpas. He said "Papa" right away. That was easier for him. I stopped to see him for a minute this morning and he was saying both. He also climbed up the stairs at DD's house last night so they are off to buy a baby gate today.
Yes Jo Ann, I'll send the site for you to look at he pictures. There's pictures of DGD and Landen.
This morning in the paper they were talking about how much it helps to drink Ginger Tea when you have a cold or are coming down with one. You can either purchase it or make your own with the gingerroot, lemon and some spices you might like. One recipe even called for Chili powder ....which I can't imagine but our Verna would probably love.
I can't hang around here now because I've been playing around too long but I will try to come back.
Interesting reading about Tom and Kim......haven't we all been there ?
Marti, if I'm not too late to weigh in on the fridge, I wanted you to know I have the one with two doors on top and the freezer on the bottom. I would not trade it for anything. It is so convenient to have the two doors on top. The shelves all pull out for easy reaching and are large and very convenient for storage. I also have the big dwarer across the bottom of the fridge and I keep cheese, lunch meat, nuts in it. When I need it for entertaining, I've used it for large trays of appetizers that need chilled and have even stored my cheesecake in it. My freezer is one large pull out with a smaller top shelf inside that also pulls out. I looked at the two drawer freezer and thought each drawer was too small. Hope this helps with your decision.
Tom just called and said it was a horrible day at work today. So far his job is still safe, but he lost 5 people who worked for him. His company let 114 go in total including 5 diretors. He said it was the most tense day with people sobbing when they were let go and other coworkers crying for them. I'm thankful that Tom still has his job, and feel so sorry for the people who lost theirs. I think I've met some of them at summer picnics Tom has for everyone who in his department. Thanks for keeping him in your prayrers. I feel exhausted from worrying all day. I'm very good at praying, but not very good at trusting.
Barb, I'll look for the website. Thanks, I can't wait to see the pictures.
Verna, what a long and stressful day for you with everything going with the surgery postponeent and also the intervention. I'm glad your doctors are being careful and throrough with you regarding the surgery, but I know how inconvenient it is for you to schedule your help. I'm sure it will all work out for the best. By the way, I like the sound of your breakfast. LOL
I did much better with using points today. After dinner, I'll only have 5 left and I didn't have to eat all day, just picked higher point food. I really hope this works. It feels like I'm cheating because I don't feel deprived at all.
Hope everyone has a nice evening. Take care and for those of you in the deep freeze with us, stay warm. Jo Ann
Marti, I pesonally don't care for the side/side fridges - I just don't think the fridge part is big enough. I looked at the French door fridges a couple of years ago when I got mine and I really liked them. The only reason why I didn't get one is because I only have countertop on one side of my fridge; so, I wanted it to open just the one way - does that make any sense? Sue, from what I can gather from the description of where your fridge sets, I think the French door style might be good for you since the doors are shorter.
Barb, how come you didn't teach Landen to say Grandma? Or BizzeeBarbie?
Verna, I sure hope you can have the surgery on your thumb sooner rather than later. I hope you hear back from them soon.
Jo Ann, what line of work is your ds in? DD is in banking and Dsoil is in retail - I hope they can hold onto their jobs.
They moved my colonoscopy up to the 30th (instead of the 6th). I got the "kit" Monday at the pharmacy. I sure hope the prep is not as bad as I think it is going to be.
Maureen & Jo Ann, I can relate on your children's "friends." Ds' significant other has two children with two different dads and wasn't married to either one of them. :(
Later...
RATS. No surgery this week. Perhaps next Friday, but it will be late...after a 3 pm case. Hopefully I'll know for sure by this time tomorrow. I do appreciate their being cautious but this is overkill. Hope the anesthesiologist has achy joints in his/her future!
Off to make dinner and head out for a meeting at church.
On the refrigerator...I wouldn't have a side by side if you gave it to me plated with gold. Of course first of all, I couldn't reach the top shelves...but second, I just plain old don't like them!
Verna, I'm so sorry your surgery date has been changed, the waiting is no fun and I know you want this pain behind you. Praying that you don't have to wait but a few days. Laughed at your saying you hoped the doctor would have achy joints. Don't you often wonder if their decisions would be different if they were in our shoes? You've been a busy lady today and thanks for your imput with the refrigerator. I'm of the same opinion with the side/side, but here I was about ready to get another one. If I didn't have a top freezer in the one in the basement a lot of dishes would not go in my ref, so I think all of you have helped convince me that I "want" the french doors and Jo Ann, thanks for your imput, having one and being positive about it helps me with my decision and Sue, thanks for your imput. I'll just have to change brands and I do like the looks of the electrolux productsJoAnn, an answer to prayer for Tom's job. I was on medical leave the one time our company laid off employees and I remember how stressed out everyone was, our entire country is suffering with job losses.Barb, I didn't get any pictures of Landen either, He is ahead of Randi, walking and talking, but then who knows what she will be doing when she leaves here after next week. lol
Sorry I didn't get on here until early on Thursday morning, but since it is still Wednesday there, I will just say hi here. So sorry to hear about Tom's workplace. What a horrible day for everyone there. Can't imagine security escorting people out. Those that remain must have really mixed emotions. These things are happening here, too.
I'll check in again on thursday's post! lusi
