Yikes Jo Lynn, I sure hope those pies freeze well because I bought them out of the freezer case and put them in my freezer.  I was surprised whn I went to cut the ones DD brought yesterday because they were still partially frozen.  I got Coconut cream, banana cream and French Silk.   I think the mac and cheese was Velveeta.  I tried to find the box in recycle but it's so full I couldn't dig it out.  Anyway, Dh likes the one that has the dry powdery stuff.  I seldom make it from scratch either because DH would just as soon have that kind.  I will look at Maureen's recipe though.

Luanne, I got my phone pouch today and love it !!  I am not giving mine away !  It will come in so handy for me because much of the time I don't carry a purse.  I just stick my money in my pocket.  Especially when I go to yard sales.  I'm sure I will get lots of comments on this.  I love the colors too.  You are a sweetie to send these.  Well, you are a sweetie anyway, whether you had sent them or not.

I worked in the yard all morning and then came in and mopped.  DH went golfing.  I spray painted  a table and chairs with some .97 paint and it turned out fine.  Then I used some $4 spray paint on my water pumps and it came out of the can terrible and got all over me too.  So, I'm not buying anything but the cheap stuff.  I don't care if the other lasts longer.  I can always respray.

Shirley, glad your ortho is pleased with your recovery.  That arthritis is nasty stuff.  Guess we'll all have a bit of it here and there if we live long enough although I have friends who've had it for  a long time and they aren't very old.

Verna, I wrote down the name of the book you mentioned but I am not getting anymore now until I catch up with what I've already bought.  I did receive the one I ordered for OGD for her birthday. I still dont' think I'd understand it.  Something to do with DNA.  The one I ordered my Dsis should be here tomorrow.

Viny, so am I understanding that you are able to keep your chol. down with your diet and exercise  enough without taking med .  ?  I would like to go off  statins and try the avacodo  and lecithin.  I read where eating one avacodo per week and taking 2 lecithin pills per day helps keep it down.  Don't know if that's true but I do remember taking those pills before for a long time.  Don't remember why though.

Well, I'm going to go color my hair.  I don't really want it the only color I have but don't want to wait till Dh gets home to go to the store.  I usually mix 2 colors together.  DH wants me to put it darker but it's so light on the sides naturally that I don't want to do that.  I would let it go natural but it's only light ( almost white) on the sides and front  and the underneath is still mousy .

Have a good evening all.   Barb

Maureen, thanks for the mac/cheese recipe.  It looks good.  I've also shared it with my new caregiver...she likes mac/cheese too.

Barb, I like the blue box Kraft stuff for mac salad.  Just mix as instructed and as it cools, add some mayo and whatever else you put in your salad.  It works perfectly every time for me.

Have balanced both bank accounts...to the penny!  Hooray for me!!  The laundry just needs to be folded.  I'm figuring out bills etc so have had a basically productive day.  I have leftovers for dinner so no skimping there.

    Back to work....

Hi.  You all sound busy.  Hope you had some luck shopping, Maureen.  I surely did today.  Yes, I was a good American citizen and supported the economy at one shop where I handed over a large sum of money and am now the owner of some lovely new tops.  Couldn't find any suitable bottoms, though, so will have to go out again one of these days.  Smile     Glad those pouches are arriving.  I think I sent out 6 according to my list.  I still have three more.  So if you didn't ask for one and still would like one, let me know!  Or if you asked for one and didn't get one, let me know.  I have been known to slip up with lists!

My morning was rather eventful.  The 96 year old uncle is a very stubborn man and is arguing with his daughters.  He forbid them to come and help, saying that they are after his money.  Sooooo, when the Michigan cousin called to thank my sister, sister let her have an earful to say the least.  Most of it was true, and she admitted that she was not informed about the whole situation.  But mostly she told cousin that it was shameful to let their father make this move on his own.  Well, it prompted cousin into action, and she is coming down on Saturday evening, but will not tell her father in advance.  Sister wanted me to phone cousin and tell her to stay home, but our mother didn't want that.  So I called cousin and said that sister and are happy to turn the whole sorting and tossing over to her. We will no longer be involved.  Cousin was happy.  Sister is still saying it won't work. I am just hoping for the best.  Spent some hours on the phone making peace between the two cousins (who of course are arguing) and my sister.  Then I went shopping.

Hate this heat and hoping for some relief!   Take care,  lusi

OMG, Lusi, you're having to play peacemaker there too.   I have a feeling Uncle isn't going to be real pleased when he sees his daughter.   I think this might not work.   I feel sorry for him, he doesn't need to deal with all this at his age.

We're getting ready to go to Lowe's but wanted to say I found something shopping, but it isn't what I was supposed to be shopping forHuh?   What I found was a really nice top to wear for the rehearsal dinner which will be a BBQ here.   I have so many casual tops and wanted something that is dressier.   So tomorrow I will look at Dillards and some of the high end stores.   I did find a darling lace over-thing, don't know exactly what it's called because it's not a jacket, but would be so cute with the right dress or top and skirt under it.   Will keep that in mind tomorrow.

    Ok, DH is ready.....

Poor lusi, you just seem to attract these feuding family members. And here you were all doing the nice thing and helping the old man. They can get quite stubborn about anyone messing in their business, I remember my DFIL telling DH that "you only want my money". HA! He had no money, only debts and DH had to help him file bankruptcy twice! My dad was so much more reasonable than DFIL, who was a real trip!

I think It's going to cool off after the weekend so you will be more comfortable. And you know from growing up here this hot summer is unusual.

JoAnn, I'm glad Tom got some real answers and I hope he does well on the meds and oxygen and shows improvement when he goes back to the doctor. He seems much too young for all this.

See ya in the morning. DH is off tomorrow and after his doctor appt we will be going up to Wis.
