Indulgence no longer has to feel guilty. Go ahead, treat yourself!
Hello everyone!
Not feeling to good today...skipped breakfast and I shouldn't, didn't eat lunch till dh got home @ 1:30...now I feel nauseas. ugh. Took some pepto tablets, so hopefully they will help. Dh is taking a nap and I think I might just join along.
Hope that everyone is doing well! Will try to check in later!

As of this morning I am down 15.6 pounds since starting WW again. Happy
It has been cloudy for 2 days, no rain but it did sprinkle. Need to water again. I water the front one day and the back the next.
Went to the heart dr today and he told Mel to not take 2 of the new meds. He said 3 new meds to start at one time was too many. Said he doesn't have any fluid, but the lungs are the best. He will be 95 the 5th.
later
Haven't caught up on posts. Just got home.
4th stomach attack this morning in KC. Good thing my DM came for she drove me to my DSis to rest a bit before we headed home. She did all the driving. Call the nurses but they still don't have the HIDA Scan report so there's nothing my doctor can say or do.
Kris
Kris, sorry about your troubles... couldnt you go to a hospital DURING an attack, that way when they do a test, it would be the best time to do so, when its happening? Jill, sorry youre not feeling well todayDusta, did Mel do okay on the ladder? Silly guy.Have a good night all!
Happy 4th of July everyone!
Kris, so sorry to hear you are getting no relief, it must be frightening and frustrating at the same time! You keep at it til the Drs. give you an answer - some things are just hard to pinpiont. Saying prayers for a quicker diagnosis for you!
Dusta, I'm glad Mel is doing better, maybe you can actually take a deep breath now ... nice that you have Theresa helping you out ... I got her name right, no? I am so forgetful!
Muril, how is Crystal doing? She must be getting excited ... or at least really uncomfortable and ready to go at this point! Amazing how their lives will change once the new baby arrives! :)
Jill hope you are feeling better - I have to admit, I felt a little nauseous the other day when I realized we had eaten at Godfather's pizza 3 times on our trip ... 3 times in one week ... too much!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not a good thing, or too much of a good thing I guess! My body sure told me it prefers the roasted veggie dinner over the pepperoni pizza one ...
speaking of which, I discovered you can roast frozen veggies in a pinch ... bird's eye makes these giant bags of frozen veggies - I got the one with broccoli, cauliflower and carrots - cut in nice big chunks - I just put it in the oven frozen and after the moisture evaporated, it was just lovely. A litle olive oila dn salt and pepper just like regular.
Okay, a small blonde child insists she NEEDS waffles ... later gaters!
My "Babies" are growing up!!!!
Good morning everybody. The 4th is always kind of touchy for me. Loved it up until 1983 when my Dad died on the 4th of July. In 1987, Gregg's Dad died on the 6th and there are several other family members who died right around there too, which makes it a little sad. I was so sorry to hear about Andy Griffith. Add me to the list of his fans. Loved both the Andy Griffith show and Matlock...and I never knew till yesterday that he and Gregg had the same birthday. RIP Andy.
I am really not feeling that great today. It is supposed to rain...very overcast and they are saying 60% chance of rain and cooler. I didn't sleep well last night and woke up with a sinus headache, took sinus meds and now am feeling somewhat queasy, so will probably have to eat some toast and see if it will settle.
Intending to have leftovers for lunch and grill burgers and have with leftover baked beans and a new salad with pasta, veggies, and coleslaw dressing but will use my Mom's dressing recipe instead of buying a bottle of storebought.
That huli huli chicken was really good yesterday. I did change it some. I was pleasantly surprised by how moist it was.
This is my picture.
I only made half the sauce, subbed ground ginger and garlic powder for the garlic cloves and fresh ginger since that was what I had on hand. Used boneless skinless chicken breast. Used 1 cup of sauce for the marinade, 1/4 c. reserved for basting and would cook 4 minutes per side, baste, turn, cook 4 minutes a side until done, which was about a total of 16 minutes. This is good and moist and goes great with the pineapple rings, long grain and wild rice and green beans I made with it. Definitely a keeper here.Basically Hawaiian Barbecued Chicken. I halved the sauce and used chicken breasts (boneless skinless)
Grilled Huli Huli Chickenhttp://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/Grilled-Huli-Huli-Chicken1 cup packed brown sugar (used 1/2 c.)3/4 cup ketchup (used 6 T.)3/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce (used 6 T)1/3 cup sherry or chicken broth (I didn't use)2-1/2 teaspoons minced fresh gingerroot (used 1 1/4 t. ground ginger)1-1/2 teaspoons minced garlic (used 3/4 t. garlic powder) 24 boneless skinless chicken thighs (about 5 pounds) (used 4 large chicken breasts--boneless, skinless--plus 3 filet sized chicken breasts since that was what was in my package)DirectionsIn a small bowl, mix the first six ingredients. Reserve 1-1/3 cups for basting; cover and refrigerate. Divide remaining marinade between two large resealable plastic bags. Add 12 chicken thighs to each; seal bags and turn to coat. Refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. Drain and discard marinade from chicken. Moisten a paper towel with cooking oil; using long-handled tongs, lightly coat the grill rack. Grill chicken, covered, over medium heat for 6-8 minutes on each side or until no longer pink; baste occasionally with reserved marinade during the last 5 minutes. Yield: 12 servings. Kris, sorry you are still not feeling well :-(.
Dusta, woo hoo on the 15 plus lb loss. My scale currently is covered up so I can't get to it, but I would just as soon eat better for a few days first. Don't want to scare myself (LOL).
Rebecca, I love Godfathers and wish there was one closer. Chandler is too far to drive to very often....but 3 times in 1 week does sound like a lot!
Want to scrap a few recipes if I can but not sure about that. Still gotta do the parish nurse report and need to do a load of uniforms and a load of dishes and unpack the big suitcase. Got the smaller one unpacked yesterday. And hopefully it won't be raining when I want to swim.

Morning Girls! Happy 4th! Ill be working... then going to a bbq right afterwards.Rebecca, sorry you were sick after all that Godfathers. Good find on the veggies! I need waffles too. Im coming over!Sherry, that dinner looks delicious! Sorry to hear you lost your dad on the 4th. Dusta, I forgot to say, CONGRATS on your weight loss my dear! That is wonderful!Hoping today flies by, but chances of that are slim. Its usually slow on the 4th.Breakfast - 3/4 c granola with 1 tsp brown sugar and 1/2c skim milk, coffee, 2 pieces of whole wheat toastLunch - Either fridge oatmeal or a tuna sandwichDinner - Whatever is at the bbq
Kris:
have you tried keeping a fod journal? That way you can see if there is a commonality in the food you ate before an attack. Might be an easy way to get some relief, by eliminating the causative food. I know that a lot of folks who loose weight fast gave gallbladder issues, but I also know that it's usually set off by fatty and fried foods. Could be you have some sort of allergy going there too. A food journal will help pinpoint that too. Hope you feel better soon!

Happy 4th of July everyone!!!!!
Hope that everyone is having a fun day!!!
We are going to a bbq tonight@ 5, and then not sure if we will go swimming (at the bbq) or come back to town for fireworks. I am actually suprised that they are going ahead with the fireworks as dry as it is!
I am feeling better today.....was nauseas all day yesterday, we ended up going to Texas Roadhouse for supper and after I ate there I felt better. I am wondering if maybe I drank some bad water (from our tap)...the water is so low around here...they havn't said anything about cutting back on using water, but the water had a funny taste when I drank it.
Dusta YAY on your weight loss! I am going to the Y in the morning and getting a good work out! We were having some car problems Mon. & Tues., so I couldn't go those days.
Natasha sorry you are stuck at work! Hope your day goes by quickly! Enjoy your party tonight!
Kris ((hugs)) Sorry you had another attack! Hope they can figure out what is going on SOON!!
Rebecca your roasted veggies sounds good! My tummy problems could have been to much bad eating over the weekend...had hot dogs several times. Maybe it just caught up with me?? or it was the water I drank?? who knows! lol
Was sad to see that Andy Griffith died. :( Loved all his movies/shows!
Sherry ((hugs)) sorry that the 4th is a hard day for you!! ;(
Your chicken looked good! I pinned the recipe on pinterest.
Well I have a watermelon to cut up, need to fix us a bite for lunch and get myself ready!
Have a good day everyone! ((hugs))
Happy 4th of July
Received all 4 thank you notes. Not feeling well enough to pass on yet. sorry.
Threw up 9 pm last night and 9:45 am this morning. Call hospital and my Dr is on call. Tomorrow I will have a consultation with our local surgeons. Thank you for the prayers.
I might have to miss out on the Philadelphia trip. We will see what happens and how quick.
Happy Independence Day!
God Bless the USA!
I hope everyone is having a nice 4'th! I have started the french rolls in the bread machine. I made home-made vanilla wafers last night to dessert this evening. They are pretty yummy!
Ryan, Crystal, and Macie are coming over for a cookout this evening. Then, Keith and Lori will join us for homemade peach ice cream later- plus we may watch the fireworks together from our living room. :) K&L are having a couple to their home for a cookout- they do it every year. I so understand- glad they can join us for dessert. :)Clay called from NC yesterday- he is doing well.
I am marinading some b/s chicken breasts to grill and we'll have corn on the cob, salad and rolls. Then of course the famous peach ice cream!
(((Kris))), so sorry that you had another attack. I am getting frustrated for you. I remember how I had to really make waves to get the ball rolling for DH when he had problems with his gall bladder. I can be pretty mean when I have to be. LOL Well, more like persistent!!! :) Hope they get the results of the scan soon. It's hard to eat bland food without any fat at all- plus, I know that you are already eating really healthy- just doesn't add up to me.
Candy, we are used to roughing it when the power is off for a while- but it has never happened for an extended time before in the summer months- always happens in the winter(before this of course).... seems like a lot of people are having trouble with the heat(103 on one of the days)- that is the biggest problem. We were blessed that ours was back on so soon. They are now saying that they may not have everyone's on by Saturday now. R&C still don't have theirs. But, they have been working around the clock to restore power to everyone- can't complain- just great how lots of workers come from other states to help out!
Rebecca, Crystal is so ready to have the baby. Glad it is waiting for the power restoration though. LOL But, you know if she comes a little early- we'll improvise. At her last appointment., she was 2 cm. dialated. We are excited about that although the Dr. says that doesn't mean anything. LOL I think she is going to look a lot like Macie- she seems to have her nose and mouth from the ultrasound pic. :) We shall see. That'll be incredibly sweet!
Kris, I am going to give you a ringy dingy- just saw your last post- if you don't answer- will leave you a voice mail. So sorry- hugs and prayers. Please don't worry about our summer swap thank you's. They'll keep. :)
Debi, happy 4'th! Enjoy your day with your family!
Sherry, sorry you are having a bad day. I can understand since you have lost loved ones on or near the 4'th. (((Hugs))) That chicken looks fabulous! Thanks for sharing the recipe! Mmmm.
Natasha, I didn't know you are ready to take the plunge and try to start a sweet family- how wonderful. My, my, fun, fun, fun. I am so glad that you are also working on getting healthy so it'll be easier on you and the baby as well. So neat!
Jill, woo hoo- enjoy your cookout this evening! Love family fun times! Sorry you felt bad yesterday. Hope it wasn't the water- just in case- switch to bottled water for a while. I will miss our Andy too! Seems like he is much younger that he was- just doesn't seem like he was supposed to age- since we saw the reruns! He made such a wholesome contribution to society!
Dawn, enjoy your "do nothing" day girl! :)
Dusta, my dear, I am so proud of your wt. loss! Many people gain when they are under stress and we know that it's been stressful for you lately! So, so proud of you!
We had a quick passing storm yesterday but we need more rain too.
Have a lovely 4'th healthy ones! Stay as cool as possible- enjoy your families today! Hugs and Prayers...
Off to check on those rolls. :)
Keep on Keeping on! You are so worth it!
Sister Love!~
Dusta, I so enjoyed our chat! Have a good time with Mel's family today.
(((Kris))), I left a voice message for you-hope you are doing well.
The first pan of rolls are out of the oven- the second one in- had a french roll with butter for lunch- yum! A simple pleasure.
Toodles!
morning!
(((((kris))))) I hope you can find some answers soon. Can you call the place that did the scan? maybe give them a bit of pressure.
Hope everyone had a nice 4th~!! We had a bbq with some of the neighbors, just 3 families that got together & had fun. Kids did the pool thing, we did the beverage thing I was bad - ate potato salad, brats, chips and a big ol' helping of Dump Cake. Not to mention all the snacking we did. Oops I"m definitely going for a run when I get home tonight LOL!!!
Yesterday morning we stopped by a local farm and signed up for their crop sharing program. There are 4 quarters a year, we'll start in september (the current one is already in progress and they don't let people join in the middle). We'll get 1 box of fresh produce, whatever is in season, each week for 10 weeks. I'm excited - it's $225, but that comes out to $22 a week. And we spend way more than that each week at the grocery store. Plus we're supporting a local place. Not to mention FRESH produce. Yum!!!!
I better get moving around here. I have been stalling on a few things this week. We have a very demanding (i.e. difficult!!) client and I need to get a billing into them. It's a lot of work, and I usually need a good 2 hour block of time with nothing else to interrupt me. Very specific forms & ways of submitting. Blech.
hope everyone has a great day!!!
dawn
"Wow, I really regret that workout" said Nobody Ever
"...understand the beauty of simply going out and doing it. Deciding yes, you are worth it, every day. That's the only race you have to run..."
Good Morning Healthy Beauties!
Dawn, so glad you had a good 4'th! Hey, a girls gotta splurge some times! You will make up for it the rest of the week. :) I love the idea of crop sharing- never heard of that. That sounds way cool!
We had a nice cookout- and while Ryan, Crystal and Macie were here- Crystal's Mom called and said their power was restored! They had went by the house for them to check on things. Ryan had went by yesterday morning and saw someone working on their street so we thought it would be soon! Hooray! Today they will go back- they went by last night to adjust the settings on the ac so it can cool down a bit. You can't cool it all at once or the ac will be overworked.
They had to leave before Keith and Lori made it by- their company was late leaving. LOL Anyway, we still had plenty of peach ice cream- they(K&L) had dessert and watched the fireworks with us from our living room window.
I talked to Kris yesterday- she is going today for a consult with her Dr. Hopefully, they can figure out something- she is getting sick way too often. She will update us as she learns what is going on. (((Hugs))) and prayers for Kris.
I need to do some de-cluttering today and catch up on some laundry.
Hugs and Waves to everyone! Hope you had an awesome 4'th!
Visiting with the surgeon at 11 am. Possibly surgery at 11:30am Finally!!!!
