Indulgence no longer has to feel guilty. Go ahead, treat yourself!
Hi Girls!
Debi, as I said on FB- no, I didn't email you...my goodness - wonder how they(whoever they are?) do that? Hmmm.... glad you didn't open it. I never open anything strange either- so glad you checked with me first. That wouldn't be good.
Candy, your pizza ideas is pretty much like mine- we don't do a lot of cheese usually. I do love fresh veggies and olive oil and fresh garlic. My fave cheese combo is a little feta and a little moz. as well as tomatoes and basil and garlic.
Dawn, I remember seeing Sammi girl in that pirate costume too! She was adorable in it- such a dainty little sweetheart! That costume keeps on giving and giving. Thank you again! :)
Natasha, no need to worry about the loan- it is just the beginning- but I can feel your anxiety- it's a brand new world when you get a home loan and it's a big expense- but take it a step at a time. It'll all work out.
Dusta, my hair is just now about the length I wanted it when I got it cut about 2 mos. ago- I either need a new hairdresser or maybe I am not communicating too well. LOL
Rebecca, sorry about the practice schedules with the soccer teams this year- for goodness sakes - they should know that not everyone can practice on Friday night. :(
Kris, that's funny about your Aunt- she is a party animal- that's wonderful at her age- or any age for that matter. :)
(((Jill))), hugs. I am praying for you to be blessed above measure.
Sherry, hope you are having a good week! We have awesome cool temps in the mornings - then by afternoon- it' pretty hot again. Next week- it's only supposed to only climb up into the low 70s though and that sounds sweet to me. :) 70s is perfect to me.
Hugs, Waves and Prayers to all of you sweet ladies. I went to a consignment shop today but didn't see anything I couldn't live without- it's a fairly new business and they already have a nice selection of everything. DH is thinking about an antique radio that he saw. :)
It's better to look back on life and say: "I can't believe I did that." than to look back and say: "I wish I did that."
It is raining cats and dogs here, need it. I was in the front of the house and thought if it doesn't rain tonight I am going to water that.
Candy I don't think they know how old Mel is. They call all the time trying to sell him car insurance, I use to tell them he had insurance and didn't want to change. Now I ask them if they know how old he is, no, and I say he is 95 are you still interested in talking to him. No they are not. lol
A man called last night and ask if I wanted a job. Me want a job? Got to be kidding. He said I could do it in the comfort of my home. Told him I had too much to do as it was, sure didn't want a job.
Acouple of months ago a woman called wanting to know if I wanted some sort of package deal to go to Branson. I told her I didn't know where Branson was. You should have heard how high her voice got over that. Then she started tell me what all they, had and who was there, never heard of any of that. Finally said I had heard of Silver Dollar City, but I did not like theme parks. But thank you for calling.
Maybe I have too much time on my hands?????????
Kris called and we were in a restaurant and it was so loud in there, Have to catch her later. Cheddar"s, I had grilled salmon, beans and broccoli, good. Mel had fried shrimp and he said they were really good. He had never eaten at Cheddar's. Mother and I ate at them in Dallas.
Now it is thundering.
Hello my little chickadees! how is everyone doing? I had a busy but too fun day - my GS leader and I went up to Ft Collins (about 45 min) to the GS store and picked up our order of the new uniforms, etc. for the girls, it was so much fun, I bought a few things and they even had a big basket of free stuff and we were able to get fun patches for the girls that have a campfire and s'mores on it. very cute. free is always fun. Then we had lunch at a really cute newish place - it's like a gourmet deli in a gas station! hahahah we got 2 sandwiches and split them - chicken salad with apples/walnuts and cranberries (to die for) and a cuban panini - soooooooo good, it was such a fun time. It was so nice outside we ate on the patio. Anyway, got home around 1:30 and then started on my chores! went to the laundromat (I know you are all jealous, but only a few more days ...) I hope to go shopping next week for a new washer.
Yes, Candy, it would be nice to switch the schedule all around, but this troop has about 20 girls and they've been doing Friday night meetings for several years, so not gonna expect them to change everything for me. So, we got to learn a lesson - that I need to go to the bigger town for more options, and Katie that she can't do everything just cuz she wants to. I was so frustrated just because she's good at volleyball and I didn't want her to miss the whole season. Anyway, I think we've come to grips now and I won't make the same mistake in the spring.
Maybe she will try basketball this winter ...
Natasha, take a deep breath and relax ... take your time and just keep telling yourself it all works out in the end - it's not like you are getting kicked out and HAVE to find a place - you have time. Dawn brings up a good point - will they have someone else live there if you move out? how does that work anyway? interesting.
We did get registered for BOO BOWL in October - the Sunday before Halloween they have this event for girl scouts and an adult partner and they have the bowling alley dark and spooky music, mist, etc. should be fun - Jack will bowl with Katie but I will go along to take pics, etc . should be really fun, apparently this is one of the most popular GS activities - the lady who runs it doesn't even have girls in scouts anymore but she still does this event every year!
Saturday this week we are doing a stream clean in one of the town's most popular parks, it has several miles of walking trails and we are going to be cleaning up a section of it and then having lunch in the park. Supposed to be a beautiful day so I think it's going to be really fun!
The non profit organization that I'm on the board of ... (wow, that is such a bad sentence) anyway, I run the ArtReach program which hooks us poor foster parents up with cultural events for free - and now they want me to be the Treasurer too ... I dunno, I could do it right now, but if something else happens and I actually get a job then I don't know ... i told them I would think about it ...
how cute are your grandbabies Muril, omw I wanna squish them! and Macie in that costume, adorable! I have a few cute things to send you if you don't mind :)
Jill, that is hard, I struggled with that for many years - praying for you!
HUGS to everyone, enjoy the upcoming weekend. XXOO
My "Babies" are growing up!!!!
Hi, didn't make it on yesterday. Cute pics of Macie and Kelsey, Muril.
(((((Jill)))))
Natasha, hope you are able to find something you like in your price range.
Waving hi at everybody. Working today then have another 2 off. Yesterday was really short being sandwiched in between 3 work days like that. I will be glad when I get back to my more normal schedule.
Hoping to try a new and relatively healthy pork chop recipe tomorrow and try to get that new recipe I want to make for cranberry orange salsa.
Water is cooling down in pool. Probably only have about 3 or 4 weeks left that I can swim so need to come up with some plan to keep me exercising after that (LOL)...at least on nonwork days. The days I work I get more than enough walking and lifting.
Have a great day everybody.
Faith is not demanding what we want; it is trusting God's goodness in spite of life's tragedies. Dave Branon
Good Morning Healthy Beauties!
Thanks everyone for your sweet comments about our sweet girls- they are a joy!
Dusta, glad you are getting some rain. LOL for playing around with the telemarketer- that's funny- she had no idea that you had been to Branson- you could probably tell her about it. LOL
Rebecca, hope Katie can play basketball- that'll be a nice winter sport for her. Does she like to dance- she could take dancing lessons- that may be fun as well. I never had a girl to get her into ballet and such- I would try to live through her- may be a good thing I didn't have a daughter.
Sherry, maybe you could join a gym for the winter- one that you pass on the way to work- and that way- you could work out- then shower and head to work - or you could maybe just start a routine of your own with dvds. It's according to how disciplined you are- if you need a group to inspire you or can you get it done alone. I like to workout at home so I don't have to go to and fro- I joined a spa years ago- it was so expensive and I ended up losing my money because they eventually went out of business so I had a bad experience with gyms- plus, I couldn't get myself to go to the trouble of going- it was kinda far away from where we live though- that may be the reason- who knows. :)
Alrighty now- hugs, waves and prayers to everyone.... today is errand day. Bye-bye. :)
Muril, I love the pics of the girls. Especially love the one on FB with Macie using the kitchen, on the phone. Too stinkin cute. Dusta, Im jealous of your rain! We definitely need some here too. LOL on the wanting a job. I wouldnt send, purchase, or get anything that someone offers over the phone. Youre better than me, to sit and listen. I just hang right up.Cheddars sounds good, we dont have those here.Rebecca, glad your day was fun! LOVE cuban sandwiches! Yummy! Um, when I move out, Ill just become a property manager (not an on site manager) and someone else in line will get my apartment. The boo bowl sounds like so much fun! Thats so wonderful for you guys to help clean up the park. Ive considered doing a beach clean or park clean here, but Im always working when they go on, poo. Sherry, hope today goes by quick so you can enjoy your days off. Can you get a heater so that you can swim year round?Ive got two new recipes going in my crockpot today... a potato side dish and chicken legs with a spicy rub. Cant wait for dinner tonight. My crockpot chicken and dumplings turned out fabulous yesterday! Training went well yesterday, hope it goes well today too. I get bored though, cause I cant read in front of the trainee... (were not supposed to read at all) and I have nothing more to do while she does modules... LOLBreakfast - Baked oatmeal, coffeeLunch - YogurtDinner - Potatoes, chicken legs
morning
Rebecca sounds like a fun day yesterday. The sandwiches sound good.
Natasha most of the time when people call, I tell then not interested, thank you and hang up. But then sometime I am in a weird mood and ust want to mess with their minds. The one that really bugged me lately was selling security systems and before he said much, I said not interested. He said you haven't listen to what I have to say, how do you know you aren't interested. Hung up on that one.
Sherry hope your work day goes well. People around here have said the water in their pools is to cool to swim.
Muril have fun.
Been to the base and WM this morning. Exciting day. Mel has been talking about those stupid shades again. scream
hugs to all
Good morning girls - It rained a lot yesterday - and last night here too Dusta. whoohoo - needed it.Suppose to be a rainy weekend - and that is just ok by me too. Got in a really good aerobic/weight workout this morning - had my protein drink - and don't know what we will do today - dh is pretty much off today. Dusta - LOL about the 'home' job - - - you already have a 'home' job - his name is Mel. LOLI was thinking that you sure have gotten a lot done already this morning, didn't realize it was almost noon. My morning flew by........Rebecca - your 'outing' with your GS friend sounded so fun ! Free is good - - - my favorite thing to get. LOLSherry - Muril brings up some good ideas. Do you have a gym or fitness center on your way to work.Muril - have fun doing errands today - I need to, but don't like to toots around while it's raining - it's not that urgent for me (yet) :)Natasha - hope your new crockpot recipes turn out Fab. :pGotta scoot girls - I'm very hungry.....................
Debi
Debi it hasn't rained today, but last night almost 3 inches. When I talked to dh last night he said it wasn't raining there.
I was wondering about broken hips. A lot of people are amazed at how well Mel has done, some thought this was the end for him. There was a woman at the rehab place that had broken her hip and she wasn't doing as well as Mel, she couldn't do much for herself, and what I am wondering is it maybe he had a better surgeon, better attitude, (you know I am going to get over this), or maybe the break its self. He has done remarkable.
later
Dusta -
my FIL broke his hip,he is the one that is the same age as Mel - and reminds me sooooo much of MelSame war - same age - same personality - - - - -my FIL healed and got over the broken hip as quickly and as well as Mel. could be a lot of reasons - - - like you said - good surgeon - - - but, my FIL was determined not to let it get him down - no way - no how - - - he prevailed. ;)
yup Dusta, I think attitude makes all the difference - of course, the phsyical part helps too, but some people just persevere. Jack's grandma broke her hip and she never recovered - she ended up in a nursing home and just kept getting sicker, she had shingles and the pain drove her crazy and she just basically told us she couldn't stand any more, wasn't gonna fight. Some people just have that fight and will not stop. and the thing about the hip is that if you stay down - in bed or even in a wheel chair or whatever, you are never going to heal right.
I know even when I had a blood clot and my leg was really damaged and so painful they made me walk on it, it would have just kept getting worse - they just made me go up and down the hall, the stairs, etc. before I could go home. so I guess it's a combination of things, but I think the attitude sets you up for success or failure. JMHO
I gotta have lunch now ..
