    Good good morning Healthy Ones!

Jill, the brocolli salad sounds really good- would do that for a fresh addition to the menu. I am a good one to talk- we are gonna have way too many carbs at Mom's....gonna chalk it up to Thanksgiving and get back on track the next day. There will be a lot of people there so probably not too many leftovers for Mom to worry about- plus she has dogs and they always take out a huge bowl of turkey leftovers and such for them- they have T'giving too! LOL

Natasha, sorry you are feeling so yucky. I hate sinus infections- used to get one almost every fall(knock on wood)- thank God - haven't had one in quite a while. (((Get well Hugs)))

Gracious Rebecca, didn't know your sweet children were that old. Your babies are growing up- enjoy! LOL on all your excitement- laundry is such an every day event here- I tell you- feel blessed to have a washer and dryer. My sister Phyllis lives in an appartment and has to use a laundry mat- she would love to have a washer and dryer in her home. Told her praying one day she will- that has to be a pain going to the laundry mat- I remember it well- DH and I used to live in an appartment for a few months while Keith was a baby. I would get enough laundry for about 7 loads. Not fun at all! Was neat to get it all done at once though. LOL

Dusta, that is weird about the lady eating after her dog. I am like you- ain't gonna happen with me.  If she is gonna do it- she should have a different container and a different spoon( I am like Lulu- don't share my eating utensils.... LOL That is funny about what Mel says- sounds like something DH would tell me. :)

Debi, how are you doing? Have you been to the NH lately to visit your Mom and Aunt and what is your plans for Thanksgiving?

Waves and Hugs to everyone! Today is errand day here!- going to W-mart and Sam's and a few more stops! :)

    Good Morning Coffee

Dusta - sorry you're up early. That's hard when you're tired but not enough to fall back asleep.

    TXcookie
put some milk in the spoon and gave it to her dog, then sept eating with it. Did the same thing last night at supper

Hmmmmm maybe that's why she has a uti? Stick out tongue kidding.  That's a little gross.  I wait until I'm done with yogurt or cereal before I let the cats clean off the spoon.  I'm not putting a "cat" spoon back into a product I'm still eating! blech.

Natasha - hope you feel better soon. We're suffering the sinuses too, sam's got an infection I think. She sees the dr. this afternoon - a lot of drainage & all that fun stuff.

Jill - I'm so happy for riley, to have her dad home again!!!  Stinks for you though Sad   You're thanksgiving menu sounds delicious!!!

Rebecca - yes, we are sooooo happy you're back.... Confused   *snort* kidding. Sorry, I'm in a mood this morning.  Wow, when does ross turn 16? Are you going to allow him to get his drivers license?  Have fun today with Gabe, cute handprint idea! We have one of samantha when she was 2, the turkey turned out so freaking cute!!!

Debi - hope you're doing ok & everything is calm? We miss you (((hugs)))

Sherry - how are you doing?

Kris - how is your week going? Do you have school this week or are the kids off?

    Good Morning everyone~!!!!!

I work tomorrow then am off until monday.  I've got so much of my shopping done, I don't have to brave the crowds friday.   My timing stinks though - I'm overdue for my monthly walmart trip. We may go late saturday night or early sunday morning, maybe the crowds won't be so bad. One can hope LOL!!!

Sam has a check up at the ENT this afternoon - it was scheduled tomorrow but the dr decided to take the day off. Just a check up on her surgery last spring, the tubes & adenoid removal. I think she has a sinus infection though, a lot of drainage in her eyes & nose. Ears aren't junked up, so maybe not....  we'll see what the ENT says.

Last night samantha & I wrapped & boxed up all the niece/nephew gifts. Ahhhhhhh feels so good to have that done!!!!  Sam is so excited this year - I wanted a lot of that done so we can do fun stuff. Bake, crafts, decorate, etc.  This is going to be a very enjoyable holiday season Big Smile

better get going. Hope everyone has a good day~!!!

Dusta - Lulu deserves a clean bowl!  I wouldn't eat after my pets either.  Hope you are enjoying the visit!

Natasha - Glad you had a fun time.  Hopefully you are more rested this morning!

It's Grandparents Day for the 5th graders.  I am playing Apples To Apples with my 6th grade vocabulary class.  They have worked very hard and deserve a short break.

Tonight I will do water aerobics.  My HS friend who has returned to college needs help on tutoring for two hours afterwards.  Wow!  I said I would help her out over break.  She sent me a request of about two hours every day except Thanksgiving.  I enjoy our time together so we will get it done, but I also was hoping for a break.  I don't think I will volunteer serving dinner at the Community Building.

For the last 4=6 weeks we have been saying "No Thanksgiving meal!"  Yesterday DF pipes up.  I want pie, macaroni & cheese, apple salad and meatloaf.  Really?  Oh well.  I will make my own apple salad and take a small slice of meatloaf.  I can't have the rest and I will not eat the leftovers.  DM will have to throw out the uneatten meatloaf for my parents won't eat cold meatloaf.

    Off for the day!

    CoffeeGood morning girls,
feels like it has been "forever" since I have been on here.
    Sorry.
    Just a lot going on.
I have been up since 4:30 this morning !  Don't know why I woke up so early.

Everyone is fine at the NH though - so whoohoo about that.

Dusta - we are getting lots of Storm Lightning right now.  Very happy about that !
    We sure did need it.
YUCK! about the girl eating out of the same spoon as the dog.
I love animals, but bleck on that one.  LOL

MURIL!!!!   Congratulations !!!!!!!   Macie is going to be a big sister.  How sweet!
Our plans for Thanksgiving are small.  I think just ds and his girlfriend will be here for lunch.

Just wanted to pop in and say Hi!
    Hope to be back later......
    Have some things to do.

Muril - good morning~!!!!   I have been meaning to say, I agree with you on v. secrets. If I buy anything from them, it's online under the clearance tab. The quality is terrible, no way am I paying full price for bad under things!!! Out of the last 8 pair of undies I bought, 5 didn't hold up in the wash. I use the fabric bags on gentle, never had a problem before. And I don't have a problem with undies I bought other places. But the Vs ones had elastic, the seams and lace unravel. I'm sorry, but at $5-14 a pair, that shouldn't be happening.  With bras I have a little better luck, but not much. The last 2 I purchased, the hooks pulled out of the seams. One I caught when it came out of the laundry. I didn't catch the other.....  So here I am at work & my bra "falls" off   ROFL!!!!! funny now (very funny!!!) but hello!! I'm in an office full of MEN~!!!!!! Like I could ask any of them to help a Sista out......

ok, this is really making me laugh this morning LOL!!!!!

I called a friend of mine who lives near the office, luckily she hadn't gone into work yet so I caught her at home  & she brought me one of hers.  That was my last VS purchase, and I doubt I'll buy from them any time soon.

now that everyone has had a laugh this morning, I'm going to refill my coffee Stick out tongue

Dawn you are a funny girl this morning.

Kris I was wondering if your Dad was going to like this no Thanksgiving meal. I think men don't like the change of something like that. lol  At least your helping a friend and that will be fun too.

Rebecca sounds like you are having way too much fun.  The turkey hand print will be cute, just have to be faster than he is. Are you?

Lulu and I are still the only ones up. Mel must have been awake in the middle of the night. I would unload the dishwasher but the den area and kithchen are sort of together and he is sleeping in the chair. And going to make a pudding for banana pudding, can't do that either.  They have eaten the pumpkin pie. I am only going to have something sweet T day.  I think I forgot to mention, I weighed last week and had lost another 2 pounds, happy about that.

Need to go to WM even it is raining.

    hugs

    Hi Girls!

Wow, Dawn, that was super funny reading about your bra. LOL But, seriously I have noticed the poor quality of the panties too. For goodness sakes- my hanes panties are way stronger and look better longer. The VS ones come unravelled at the seams- really frustrating. I was going to get some cotton ones the other day and thought, no, the last ones wasn't a good quality- especially for the price. :( So, guess they have lost both of us as customers- poor dears. LOL  Sorry little Sammie girl has an infection. Hope she starts feeling better really soon. I hate it when the little ones feel bad- but at least she is at an age where she can tell you some of her symptoms- that helps some.

Dusta, have a good shopping trip to W-mart.

Kris, good for you for setting some limits and when you need a break- you should get a break. I like that you are thinking of yourself- you know what you can and can't do. You are so worth sticking with a plan and drawing the line when it is too much. It is hard for me to set limits too- I am getting a little better at it.

Debi, I don't blame you- no need in making a huge meal for the 4 of you. Should be nice to have a healthy Thanksgiving meal. :)

Off to get ready to head out of here for errands.... hope I have good lists for W-mart and Sam's- don't need to forget anything for my T'Giving dishes. :) Hugs and waves!

  • Re: H L Topic of Week of Nov. 19- 25~Triumph Over Turkey Day! ~

Goood Morning! Im doing a phone call marathon this morning LOL. Noticed I left my BP meds bottle in our hotel room when I checked out.... So had to contact them (it wasnt turned in of course) and then had to call my pharmacy to get their fax number, and then my doctor to have em fax a new one up for me. Golly, lots of calls for me! So Ill hafta pick that up at some point today.

We are having one heck of a storm blow through here. 30 mph winds with gusts of 50, and 2 inches of rain today. We got 1 inch of rain last night and 35 mph winds. So its a big one!

Just gotta do some tidying of the house today, everything else is ready. Ill rewipe the counter or whatever, but thats it. Gonna do prep tomorrow so Thursday will be easy peasy.

Dusta, wow that is early! I guess I wouldnt wanna drink out of a bowl another dog drank out of either LOL. Ew on the milk and spoon. Id never do that either! Congrats on your continued weight loss. Youre doing so well!

Jill, I just loove brocolli salad. Maybe I should make some for a fresh side dish as well!

    Muril, enjoy your errands today!

Dawn, hope Sam isnt too bad, and youre all feeling better soon! I had the first fever Ive had in years when I went yesterday LOL. Yay on your long upcoming weekend! Love that! Youa nd Sam are gonna have such a wonderful season. LOL on the bra trouble! On Saturday my wire snapped, and of course I didnt pack and extra one... so I went Sat Sun and Mon with a broken wire pinching me. Not fun of course.

Kris, I love Apples to Apples! What a fun game to play in school! Take some ME time this "break". It is okay to say no :) Good for you for sticking to what YOU want over the holidays.

Debi, ew thats too early to wake up! Hope you have a fab Thanksgiving!

I need to work on menus for next week.... so better get off here. Also gotta pay bills!

I just had a delicious, but not healthy lunch. Bossman took us out to eat at this "southern comfort food" type place. I love this place - they make the BEST chicken n dumplings. So I had that (always get that, i don't go often so I want it when I do go LOL!!!). My side veggies were pintos and mac & cheese. It's all homemade and sooooooo good!!!  Plus they put a fresh biscuit covered with honey & butter on every plate. I'm stuffed and just thinking about it makes my mouth water.

    however, now I need a nap & a 10 mile run LOL!!!!!

Natasha - I've had the wire thing happen  before too. Not comfortable at all LOL!!!! Sounds like you've to T'giving under control :-)

Debi - I feel for you on the early morning. It's like once I wake up at that hour, my mind starts to wander and then I'm wide awake. Frustrating!

    Hi again everyone :)

Just taking a little break here - - - It rained a LOT - and I'm happy about that.
I made some 'sweet trash' - --  some call it Reindeer fodder or Snowman poop  Embarrassed
but what ever you call it, it's good. LOL
Also making the regular version of 'trash' right now.
Getting ready for the holiday's at least......
Not much in the mood this year for some reason.
Someone needs to come here and get me in gear !

Dawn - - - thank you sooooooo very much for the sweet card.  Got it today - and it made my day. ((hugs))

Will be back later I hope.

Hi all, gosh I love being able to hop on whenever I want!

Muril, I know, I'm old, my kids are getting all grown up!  It's amazing how fast the time flies.

Heck Dawn, are you trying to kill me with that lunch menu?  I had a lara bar ... boo hoo ...  great story about the bra though, somedays I think I just need to stay in bed! :)

Had a great day today with Gabe - Katie was thrilled to see him of course, she hasn't since he moved.  It was an exhausting day, she made it home, had a meltdown and is now sleeping in the chair (it's a little after 5) so she didn't even have dinner, but ate a hardboiled egg and an apple before she passed out!  Poor baby, too busy today!  We did spend an hour or so at the park, which was nice but it was just a tad chilly so maybe it was just too much for her.

I did manage to get a cute handprint from the baby so I guess I still am faster than he is Dusta!  HAHAHA it was tricky and he just kept looking at me like I was nuts!  But, I gave it to his mom and she was thrilled she's going to turn it into a turkey!

Natasha, bummer on the meds -- what the heck would people want those meds for?  sheesh!  it's kinda like  ... I dunno, it just doesn't make any sense. Or is there some horrifying substance they can turn it into?

I'll be right over Debi, if you don't end up getting in the mood at least we can have some fun trying!

Looks like we might not have all the company we were expecting, my great nephews are sick ... we shall see if they are recuperated enough by Thursday.  I'm thinking, lovely to have you, but keep your germs!

either way, I would still make the same menu, just less ... I won't thaw out the lemon meringue pie though, that was my niece's choice ... bought one cuz I really didn't wanna experiment on a new pie on the holiday.

Okay, better go see what's happening, it's really quiet out there ...

    Good evening!

Dawn, Im glad you enjoyed lunch. Sounds like a sure comfort meal!

Debi, sounds like youve got so much going on. Can we share some of your burden, or lend an ear?

Rebecca, we so love having you back here regularly! I understand on the "keep your germs!!" Dont wanna spread those germs around! We are skipping dinner altogether on Tday. No one is ever hungry for it :)

Jill, lol charging isnt such a hassle :P I skipped the broccoli salad too... just dont wanna buy any more groceries than I already have.

Had a night out with the girls, which was wonderful. Now home, having Taco Time for dinner.

    Tomorrow is prep day!

Well, I'm done with my 3 day marathon at hospital. Now off for 6 days :-). However, I am leaving for airport in 4 hours and not done packing yet plus have to put shock in the pool and run to store and gas station. Won't take long to pack. Had a lot of it pre-set up and just had to pull out of the drawers. Biscuit freaks when he sees the suitcases and so he is not a happy doggie this morning.

Dawn, your siggie reminds me of a card I sent to my brother one year for Christmas when we lived in NC. It was one of those great big ones and it was a moose with Christmas lights on its antlers....and it said Merry ChrisMoose on it (LOL). Your story was funny about the bra.

    Natasha, feel better soon.

Rebecca, I am so jealous of your furniture moving (not). Gregg was always the one who got the bug to move furniture. I don't usually like to move things around and in fact the only time I ever move furniture is at Christmas to make room for the tree or it I need to clean behind it (LOL).

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I got a notebook with part of the money my coworkers and bosses at post office collected for me and so I should hopefully still be able to post while I am away. I put my cousins phone number in my Tracfone....so will try to get ahold of him while we are there.

Muril, that Dick VD (noticed they bleeped me...guess his name is not PC....oops) episode with the haunted house is great. Mel and Allen were playing a joke. Buddy, Sally, Rob, Laura were staying in a cabin and it was a very spooky one with lots of creaks and things...fireplace that went on and off, lights that went on and off, rocking chair that rocked with no one there and Vincent Prices face in a mirror . One by one they were all disappearing and of course the last one left was Dick VD; it was just hilarious. That one, the one with Danny Thomas and the Martians with no thumbs....and the one where her MIL was coming for a visit and she got drunk off the wine sauce or whatever it was and was acting so goofy were my all time favorites. He just lives over in Carefree, which is maybe 30 or 40 miles from here. To me, give me episodes of Andy Griffith, Lucy, Dick VD, MASH, and Happy Days (and Little House) and I am happier than a pig in slop LOL. I do like some of the new shows like NCIS and Law and Order SVU...but mostly like old reruns.

Here is a link to the whole episode. It is called The Ghost of A Chantz (LOL)

    Good Wednesday Morning~!!

((((((((debi)))))))) sounds like you may need that. You've had a tough year, a lot going on. It's hard to find the energy to "do" the holidays as usual.  I went thru that a few years ago, simplified everything. Now I've had to find the energy again - Sam is so into it this year!! I've had to do a lot of pre-planning & buying so I can take time with her in December. It's hard...   glad the card perked you up :-)  how do you make your trash? I'm curious if it's the same way I make it. We always called it Holiday Trash. Funny that we can talk about "trash" and know what the other means LOL!!!!!!

Sherry - have a safe trip and a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!  I love mash, my parents were hooked on that show and I stop to watch every time it's on :-)

Rebecca - I bet katie & gabe had a blast!!!!  Yeah, that can wear a person out LOL!!!!  If it kicks our butts, can you imagine how katie must feel???? Stick out tongue   If the family can't come for dinner (don't blame you on the germs!!!) maybe ya'll can pick an afternoon & have appetizers and dessert. Then she could have her lemon pie :-)

Natasha - sounds like you had a fun night!  Is taco time better than taco bell or kinda the same thing? We had a Taco John's where I grew up & they had this "dessert"t thing called a Choco-taco. It was a hard taco shell dipped in chocolate, filled with layers of vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and caramel. OMG was that good!!!!!

Jill - bummer on the broccoli salad. At least you found out before you went thru the trouble making it LOL!!!  Hope ya'll have a great time!!

Hi Kris, Dusta, Muril and everyone~!!!

According to the ENT doctor, sam has a sinus and ear infection. No wonder the poor thing is gooey! Have her on amoxicillan for a while, should clear her up.  She and DH are home today, Last night Sam was trying to talk dh into taking her to Ikea for breakfast or lunch....  I'm sure dh will cave Stick out tongue  He was hoping to avoid driving at all today, traffic has been awful. However, you know that man will not tell Daddy's Little Girl 'no' LOL!!!!

oh, and in case ya'll didn't know....  Her name is no longer Samantha. It's Princess.  Just passing on the information as I've been told by Her Royal Highness *snort* Stick out tongue

I told her "I"m Queen, and that trumps Princess"

dh piped up with "I'm the lowly servant, so I'm staying out of this conversation"

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   My house is so weird  Confused

Hope everyone has a safe, happy and enjoyable Thanksgiving!!!!
