Good Morning Ladies,
HAPPY MONDAY! Hope everyone is doing well this Monday morning. It's a nice start to the day, but it's going to be a warm one, warmer tomorrow. Frank and I are getting ready to take a walk, then have breakfast when we get back. Today I have towels to wash, and I want to wash all my good clothes and hang the load on the line. I want to get into some cleaning today too.
.
Yesterday, we went to the cruise, but we wish we haden't. After a few hours, it stared raining, so we decided to leave. We did have lunch there though. We relaxed the rest of the day, and had soup and sandwiches for supper. The Hallmark Channel had Christmas moves on all weekend, so last night, we watched a couple, then Army Wives was on at 10. Supper for tonight will be spaghetti I had planned on for last night, we'll have meatballs, salad, bread and zucchini from our garden with it.
Margie, ((HUGS)) Sorry you went through so much trouble for your Dad and he didn't appreciate it.
Thats all for now. hope everyone has a great day!
HUGS!Denise
Morning Margie and everyone,
Margie it's ok,go ahead and vent all you want. You shouldn't have to work so hard and then get hollered at for your efforts.
Yesterday was a pretty good day at work.Today will be back to the normal craziness as I expect things to pick right back up again.
Going to be another hot one, temp up in the 90s,but it is summer time I guess.
Hope everyone has a good Monday, not much going on today. My DB. has a dr. appt. tomorrow so we are keeping our fingers crossed he can get the reversal surgery set up soon and get it over. Then he can start his permanent road to recovery.
Good morning Margie,
I am so sorry the things turned out the way they did with your father. I know from experience that "old" people can be a pain in the"A----". John and i have been there and done that. Sometimes there is no pleasing them. Just smile and take each day as it comes.
John and I have a very nice weekend here at home. We were on our way to the dump Sat. morning at 8:30. The left side of the garage looks really good now. I got rid of all my old plastic flower pots along with a bunch of other things. Our neighbor came over and said" You can park a car in there now" He is right a small car though. It is just a" lean too" on the left had side of the garage, but it keep all the rake and other gardening tools and carts dry.
After the trip to the dump, we both took showers and went to K&W for breakfast. In the afternoon, I went to the mall and bought some much needed bras and panties. Also bought a couple of new blouses and tops. Got a very good deal as Belks was having a really good sale.
Well got to get back to work, waving to all have a wonderful day,
Good morning all. Had a great day yesterday. Temps only got to low 90s but humidity was horrific, heat index was 100 much of the day and got to 106 much of the afternoon. It was just soupy outside. Today to be 95. Will head out shortly to get berries picked and any other veggies and then stay in. Had a great cookout last eve. Actually we ate inside, just yukky to be out. Lots of wonderful food, wonderful fellowship. We arranged the furniture so that the table and living room were like in one room instead of the 2 main chairs that kind of make it separate rooms were moved. Made it fun. Scott and Kristine and Maggie joined us too as they basically know everyone and didn't have small group. Ed helped me so that I could shark the floors after all left so that mess was all done before we went to bed. Hope to pull out the machine and sew some today. My new machine is to come today, then I will have to learn how to use that. :)
Supper will probably be cheeseburger salad as I have a few burgers left and will just break them up and then season them and go from there.

Not a whole lot else

71º here now, heading for upper 90's; yesterday was more humid than it's been, miserable outside and not much better in as they did not have the AC on. My niece got to bring a couple friends to the lake with her and they had a lot of fun swimming & playing, also had water balloons! My sister made her cake, it was a butterfly done in pinks & lavender, really pretty!
I have today off; John has a dr. appt. and their DD is taking them & sitting in, which I think is very good. As soon as we get around, Danielle & I are going to get groceries, pick up a prescription and may do a little other shopping. I need some baking supplies and she is in need of new vb shoes, band shoes & gloves to go with her uniform, along with school supplies, a few clothes, etc. - the list seems never-ending, lol! Really hope we're not running in & out all day or I foresee a major headache by the time we get home. Will figure out supper while we're out too.
(((Margie))) sorry your dad was in such a bad mood, especially since you worked so hard; I'm sure he didn't realize how much he hurt your feelings. Hope today is a better day :)
Jan, nice you got your garage cleaned, always feels good. Sounds like you had a good shopping trip as well! ;)
Jill, glad you enjoyed your evening. Hope you like your new sewing machine!
Take care everyone and have a good day..............hugs,
Margie, I am flabbergasted. That was an awesome meal you made yesterday and I am so sorry your Dad was not appreciative and wouldn't even eat it. I know it is hard to see them go downhill so fast and it must be really tough to have so many in the family who won't do much for them, be the one to do it all, and then get yelled at. I'm so sorry that happened. You are a wonderful daughter. Please try not to let it get to you so much. You did not do anything wrong. If he doesn't appreciate what you do for him (and it is a lot), shame on him.
Jan, so glad you were able to get some shopping done and that they were having a sale.
Debbie, hope your day at work isn't too bad.
Denise, sorry it rained on the car cruise. Christmas movies sound nice.
Jill, cookout sounds nice. Sorry for the high heat index. That cheeseburger salad is really good. I should make some more of it.
That dinner I fixed last night was wonderful. It was a new Emeril bean recipe and a new pork chop recipe that KateMarie had posted on main board awhile back. The bean recipe was just simple stuff (olive oil, bacon, onion, garlic, chicken broth, salt and pepper) and the pork chop recipe was yummy. It had a sauce of spicy brown mustard and brown sugar and the topping was stuffing, corn, and water. Then I just made a few mashed potatoes to go with it. Will have to scrapbook that meal.
Supposed to rain again today. Definitely is monsoon season. The locusts are out now and I spent quite a bit of time yesterday getting leaves out of the pool from all the tstorms last few days. Don't think it rained yesterday. Then I think to sort of dry out a little for next few days but not too horribly hot. Highest I think I saw was 106.
Working today. Probably will be floated to the towers. Did not sleep well at all last night. In spite of the fact I took two Tylenol PM, it took me over 2 hours to fall asleep and then had to get up a bunch of times during the night. Planning on sleeping in in the morning.
Got my tickets for Thanksgiving for Indy. Trying to find out from work if I can get those days off in late October before I book the tickets for going to see my brother in TN the last weekend of October...cause if I can't get it, no sense in wasting the money...the fares have gone down though so this would be a good time to book.
Might try to get truck into the shop tomorrow am if I can and see if they can figure out what that new noise is or might wait until next Wednesday, which would probably be better since I have more days off in a row. The next couple days will be busy because I have to try to get to the CPR class on Wednesday night and have to do some other things around here as well. Was nice having all those days off.
Hope you all have a wonderful day. Waving hi to anybody I missed.

Good morning,
Margie, I am so sorry for what your going through. I will keep you in my prayers.
Glad to read everyone had a great weekend. Mine was awesome, my sister and her family came over for a bbq, it was lovely. It happened to be the 2 year anniversary of my Dad's passing, so it was nice to keep occupied with the ones you love most.
Supper tonight will be sweet and sour chicken, new recipe i am keeping my fingers crossed.
That's it for now,
hugs to all

Happy Monday Morning Junies!
Hello all. Have to make this short and sweet. I have Rowen again today and it's time for breakfast.
Day will go fast with him here. I don't have to worry much about supper as Royce has his monthly Legion meeting where they serve eats, and the boys are easy to please.
{{Margie}} Sorry your dad was being such a poop head. hugs my friend.....
Enjoy your day ladies! hugs...............
Good Morning June Friends!!
Well, I didn't do anything I had planned yesterday. I woke up with an awful headache. When it subsided some, Caitlyn and I went over to the new house and measured the AZ room windows, the sliding door in the living room and Dylan's shade (it is broken and I want to put the same kind back up). Then I spent the day in hardware stores pricing stuff. I will go to Lowes for most of the things we need, but Sutherland's has some real good prices on a few of the things we will need. Since Lowes and Sutherland's are basically across the street from each other, I will definitely go to Sutherland's for the lower prices. The prices are significantly lower, so it is worth going to two stores. Lowes has a tile very similar to the one I picked out at Home Depot. Now I have to decide which one I like better. They are the exact same price, so it might boil down to who has it when I am ready to buy. Lowes was out of stock on the shelf, but Home Depot had quite a bit on hand. I am hoping to get enough to do under the breakfast bar, the laundry room and the entryway hall before we get the carpet laid. That way the carpet edge can be put over the tile edge.
We had a wonderful monsoon storm late in the day yesterday. Lots of thunder and lightening and RAIN. Beautiful, cleansing Arizona rain. We have clouds this morning, but there are patches of blue and the sun is kissing the edges of the clouds letting the "silver lining" peak through. We are to have another storm today. Little Miss does not like the storms at all, but she is doing somewhat better since I have been giving her melatonin. The vet told me I could give her a 1mg tablet every day. He said it takes time to build up into their system, but studies have found it helps some dogs. The level of help varies. I am hoping that by next summer, there will be enough in her system to see a noticable improvement. She did WAY better on the 4th. Rylee seems to help her too. When it gets stormy, Rylee wants to play with her, which of course distracts her. Rylee's biggest problem with the storms is she barks at the lightening flashes.
Today's agenda is get things tidied up around here while Joe is at school, go pick Caitlyn up from her friend's house when Joe gets home from school, and then go to the other house and do some work including putting the trash can out to the curb. I will do the bathrooms and hopefully the kitchen today. I also want to vacuum the master bedroom and hit the kids' rooms with the stick vac. I am planning on steam cleaning the furniture they left behind as well as it is stinky and dirty. Hopefully I can get it clean enough to use. If not, will have to buy another set of furniture for the living room. My plan is to use their two pieces (a couch like mine and a blue loveseat) in the family room and my nice, newer, cleaner furniture in the living room.
{{{Margie}}}, sorry things didn't go the way you wanted them too. Lisa and Sherry said it best.
Sherry, sounds like you will be busy the next few days,
Guess I will wrap this up. Have a wonderful day my wonderful friends. Hugs and Prayers for each and every one of you.
KIM
Good morning to all of my June friends, finally got on here, it is only going to be 86 today, that's better than 90, which was yesterday. Had to stay cooped up in the house in the AC which I hate. I rather be out in my flower gardens.
So sorry your Dad was in a bad mood on his birthday, you are a good daughter, Margie, for working so hard for him cooking and taking care of your mother, just remember that he is alot older than you and probably doesn't feel too good on certain days and he will probably apologize soon.
My Dad was cranky somedays and he even had a fit when Dh brought the wrong type of grapes for him down to the store, then I had a talk with him over the phone and told him nicely that if he didn't appreciate us doing errands for him than that would stop and he would have to go do his own groceries himself. Well he changed after that, lol, and his behavior got better. Try talking to him and express yourself to him and tell him that he hurt your feelings by not coming to the table and eating the nice special food that you prepared for him, just tell him how you really feel like you do us. It worked good for me and Dad changed after that and appeciated things that we did for him.
Waving to all the Junies, have to go do some errands this morning before it gets too hot, we will have thunderstorms later too, oh, joy!! But we need the rain bad, have a great day girls, hope it cools down for you and me.
Belle
My beautiful Japanese Quince bush in full bloom:
Morning all!
Wow, that is some plant Belle. Pretty!
Margie, listen to Belle. Just because someone is elderly it does not give them license to be rude. They still need to be held accountable, especially because he is your Dad and hurt your feelings. Say it in as tactful a way as possible but don't tolerate that behavior.
We had a nice time at the BBQ and the everything I brought was eaten right up. I subbed plain yogurt for the sour cream in the squash casserole and it tasted great. Everyone said keep the recipe as is :-)
I have no idea what is for dinner today. I will take out ground turkey and figure something out.
Kim, every time I see an easy recipe I think of your kids. Are they still cooking? I have one for enchilada casserole and it is yummy! Let me know if you want it. I usually don't like Enchilada Casserole recipes because the tortillas aren't cooked and get all goopy and pasty, yuck. But this one use tortilla chips.
I need to hit the chiro and then Walmart, my least favorite place but it is cheap. I also have to swing by Home Depot and return some stuff.
I don't it will be ugly hot here but still want to get my errands done early. Have a great day everyone!
Blessings,
Lorrie
Good day all,
Margie I am sad for you the way your Dad treated you but I just know you are his lifflt girl and he feels like kicking himself for the way he acted. My Dear Dad had days like that and he just could not help himself and always felt bad after.
Just love them and keep smiling and cooking.
We are doing well. A great thing happened at the store, a couple passed away and had no children so donated their household items to us,,they were both in their 90's but had a wonderful life, I had know of them and wow did I think I was in Pig heaven, she was a recipe collector and cookbooks too. she cut out recipes and any good recipe that she found appealed to her like all of us I am sure. I am dividing them up in zip lock bags and selling them for $2.00 a bag.
The cookbooks are unbelievable...Our newspaper years ago in Chardon had a recipe contest and of course back then I entered and won a pair of wind shield wipers. I was thrilled to win and see my name in print. well this dear woman
had a copy of that booklet and it was so good to see it again. it was from 1973
and some of my recipes sounded darn good. I am preparing some to bring in this Friday for the clients in our back room. One of the misc. recipes was from a local rest. in Chardon for her BBQ butter beans, my Jerry loved to go there just for that side dish, and lo and behold she must have begged the cook for that recipe. Now I have it too.. And Tony Packo's suffed cabbage recipe, he has a place in Toledo Ohio and Clinger on Mash often made mentioned of that place, I can't wait to try that one. Well not much more
to tell you my friends, take care and love the Grandma's kiddie stories, they grown up so soon. take care love Shirley

Good afternoon ladies - I hope your day is going well so far . I am having a lazy day ,just can't get motivated. Its too hot to do much anyway . That's my excuse anyways!!! Margie ,it's too bad your dad isn't more appreciative of your efforts. That is very selfish of him and mean to you.I guess you should have a talk with him and tell him how it hurts you . Might do some good ,you never know .At least you would know you had tried . All of you ladies seem to have had a full week-end and are busy today --if you have any extra energy send me some ,I could use it. Stay cool and enjoy the rest of your day .Later , Linda
