Good morning everyone :)   68º here right now, temps to get in the upper 80's.

Got to bring my kitchen island from storage yesterday, but I am so upset; it is a light colored wood, had drawn damp and the bottom was covered with mold/mildew. I scrubbed it all over with a bleach cleanser, but it's still stained. :( Oh well, at least it's more storage for my things that are still boxed.  Also brought Danielle's desk and I scrubbed it all over as well, but at least it's darker wood and doesn't show any damage.

Going out shortly to get my flowers watered, then will get around for work; no plans for this evening other than to get the desk taken up to D's room. Have a piece of steak I'm going to marinate, then grill along with some veggies and maybe fix a little pasta to go with for supper.

Patti, hope your mom continues to do well.

Take care ladies, wishing each of you a great day...........hugs,

    Good morning one and all:

It is to be another very hot day temp reaching 106..could hit 110 tomorrow

Yesterday was pretty busy for a weekend,we still had 104 pts.Usually it goes down to 70 or 80.Hate to see what the week will bring. They are trying something new.We stop feeding at 7 so they want us to have our areas restocked and cleaned by 8.Then to go in dishroom and help them for the next 30 minutes doing whatever.I do that already anyway. They are really getting tough on overtime.I think it's because one person everynight kinda piddles around in getting done.I don't want the overtime because in theory it sounds good but you aren't making that much more cause Uncle Sam comes and takes it back in taxes.Besides that time of day I am ready to leave. That is my attitude from the moment I hit the door, just get me out on time:)

Kim sounds like you are really getting things going at the new place.Don't overdue it.

Margie I will be there for supper:) Take it easy.

Patti glad Mom is doing so much better!

    Sherry don't work to hard.

Looks like half my family is trying to be in the hospital. My sil brother was admitted yesterday. He has to have a blood transfusion.Guess his leukemia is acting up on him.So we have him in now,my db in Wed. and nephews wife in wed. I do need to stay healthy!

Everyone have a good Monday and stay cool!

    Happy Monday Morning Junies!

Looks to be a warm one today.

Went and visited with Mother yesterday morning, she is improving so well. When we got there, they were removing the big iv from her neck. They also removed most of the other ones, she just has her regular iv in now. They got her up and sitting in a chair too.  Last night my other sister called from there and said they were sitting in her new room ~ she is out of TLC and had been admitted into hospital into a regular room!!!!!   That sassy lady keeps amazing us.  Thank you all for your prayers, concern and support thru all this.  I SOOO appreciate each and everyone of you.   I am going to go to hospital after lunch with my sister Barb.

I got a couple loads of laundry done yesterday and will finish up this morning.  Planning on tacos for supper, so want to get the meat made. In case I'm not home in time for supper, all they have to do is heat that up.

Debbie - keeping your family in my prayers.

    ♥☺♥ Happy Birthday Jan ♥☺♥

    Hugs to all.....................

Good morning all.   Was mid 60s last night and to be upper 80s today.  Ed finished grouting yesterday so i will do come clean up today and he will put the shelves back in the little alcove area tonight.  Will do touch up paint on those as he puts them in.  We should be able to use our shower again by the end of the week.   Want the grout to cure well, it's an epoxy grout, hoping this keeps it from the mold we had with the other.

Will get my sewing machine out and start back on squares.  Supper will be veggies from the garden and melon for dessert (also from the garden).

Patti, so glad your mom continues to improve.  Do they have a time frame for going home?

Lisa, sorry about your island.  So frustrating when that happens.  Glad Danielle's desk is ok.

Gotta run.   Have a great day.

    Good morning.

I think the puppy has piddled somewhere.  I can smell it, just don't see it yet.  He probably went on one of my throw rugs.  Here I was thinking that the housebreaking was going so well.  :(   At least I hadn't just put clean rugs down, I was planning on washing these this week anyway.

Patti, any idea when your mom will be able to come home?

Today I plan to get my floors mopped.  They really need it.  All the cats and dogs need to be brushed today too.  They seem to shed constantly.

Supper is penne pasta with turkey ham and zucchinni.  I'm thinking a pea salad to go with it and possibly a pie of sorts for dessert.

Time for me to find where Boady piddled, enjoy your day.  Becky

    Good Morning June Friends!!

We were cloudy most of the day yesterday, but didn't get much more than a few sprinkles.  SIL and I took a load of stuff over in her van.  Caitlyn's room has two shelving units, her mattress, a lamp, her tv and nightstands left to go over.  My room has the bed, Joe's nightstand, a shelving unit and some misc. items.  Not too much big stuff from the bedrooms to go now.  I got all but three loads of laundry done yesterday.  I already have one in the washer plus two more to go.

Today we will move as much out of Dylan's room as we possibly can.  His bed frame is already in the van. Before we head over, I will put the three boxes he packed up into the van as well.  I need to straighten up a bit over there.  I want to get ALL the bins that I am waiting to unpack (knick knacks and such) into one area and neatly stacked.  I won't put the things out till after we get the rooms painted and the carpet down as I don't want to have to repack everything before moving the shelves for the painting to be done and the carpet laid.  We will start the painting and flooring in September.  I can't wait.  I am hoping we can get it all done by October 1.  It would be real nice to have things finished before the holidays.  Joe, I believe, is also planning on doing more yardwork today.  He still needs to do at least two more passes before the dogs can move over.

Miss isn't as upset this time around, which is nice.  The downside is, Rylee is feeding off of Miss' anxiety and sRylee whimpers every now and then when Miss is exhibiting her anxiety.  We have moved with Miss 4 times now and she still gets worked up.  I really expected her to be worse than she is as she was abandoned by her original, moving owners during a thunderstorm and it is our stormy season.  Maybe there is hope for her yet.

Supper tonight will be tater tot casserole if the meat thaws in time and I get a can of mushroom soup (thought I had one, but I was wrong).  If neither of those things happen, I have no idea what I will do instead.  I will make cauliflower to go with and open up some applesauce.

Guess I have rambled long enough.  Have a wonderful day my wonderful friends.  Hugs and Prayers for each and every one of you.

Lisa,Maybe this will help you with your kitchen island

    Removing Mildew from Wooden Furniture

    You Will Need:

    • Mild detergent
    • Water
    • Buckets
    • Soft cloths
    • Rubber gloves
    • Vacuum
    • Wax removing furniture cleaner
    • Paste wax

Steps to Remove the Mildew and Mold:

    1. Begin by mixing the mild detergent with water in the bucket.
    2. Fill a second bucket with plain, clean water.
    3. Moisten a soft cloth with the mixture and wring it out completely. The cloth should be barely moist after wringing it out.
    4. Scrub the mildew areas on the furniture until the mildew is removed. It is best to work in small sections.
    5. Once the section is clean, rinse with clean water on a clean cloth.
    6. Finally, dry the section with dry, clean cloth.
    7. Repeat the process for each section until the entire piece has been cleaned.
    8. If a white coating appears on the piece after it has been cleaned, it is most likely due to wax build-up.
    9. Apply furniture cleaner to remove the layers of wax.
    10. Lastly, apply a thin layer of paste wax. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application.

    Additional Tips and Ideas

    • Once the mold is removed, make the appropriate adjustments to keep humidity at a reasonable level to help prevent mold and mildew from growing again. Clean and dry conditions keep mold and mildew from forming and thriving.
    • There are protective sprays available that resist water and soil, the two things that mildew needs to grow. Applying these sprays can help to inhibit the growth of future mold and mildew.
    • There are commercial cleaners available to remove mold and mildew as well. Often times, these contain harsh chemicals and should be used with caution. Read the instructions and warnings in their entirety to ensure you fully understand how to use them properly and safely.

  • Re: June Cleaver Club Monday 7/30/12

Morning everybody. Boy yesterday was another terrible day at the hospital. Thank goodness I had two wonderful nurses to work with. Off for three days again now and I will enjoy them! And have mostly me days. Do have to pay some bills.

I am going to make the WW Ham steak with Nectarine salsa recipe, a new recipe for Fiesta Coleslaw and not sure what else to go with it. Maybe tater tots. I would do parmesan potato wedges but don't have any potatoes and hate to buy potatoes in the summer because they don't keep well. If nothing else will make instant garlic mashed potatoes to go with.

We are supposed to have several rainy days. It was raining Saturday night when I got off. Yesterday looked horrible and heard there were supposed to be 80 mph winds. By the time I got off (at 9 rather than 7:30), it had already done its raining but the power had gone out at least once

Margie and everybody, all of your dinners sound so wonderful.

Patti, your Mom is doing wonderful! I bet she will be home before long!

Myrtle, my goodness. When it rains, it pours.

Lisa, so sorry about the mildew on the kitchen island! I don't know what would happen if you tried a bleach and water solution.or that thing that Margie posted might help.

Jan, glad you had a good time at the beach.

Kim, you are so organized. It just amazes me :-)

I am going to pay bills today, work on a few parish nurse things (will finish that tomorrow hopefully) and mostly just chill...either reading, recipe scrapbooking, playing with the dogs, or something. Will try to swim somewhat early before the storms hit again. Might work on decluttering a bit if I get the energy. Going to get some things I bought out of my truck. I am working on an idea I found at Pinterest that uses one storage unit I already had and one bookcase and one top piece you get at Ikea to make a storage sewing desk, Want to get that in the office/craft room or at least two of the pieces of it. Would like to be able to get my sewing machine to where I can use it for mending again instead of needing to do everything by hand.

Jill, sure hope the epoxy pain works on the grout!

Debbie, when does Little Man's All star season start?

    Good Morning Ladies,

I can't believe it's Monday again! The weekend just few by. We have a mix of sun and clouds. I sure hope the sun comes again. I have sheets on the line, a load of gentles in the wash, and a regular load of laundry, and a load of towels to do yet. Since today will be the nicest day of the week, I want to take advantage of it. Tonight we're planning on going to a cruise that we've never been before. We'll eat there too. Normally, we don;t go to a cruise on Mondays but since the rest of the week doesn't look too good, we already know our regular Tuesday cruise won't be on.

My niece's baby shower was so nice yesterday. She got everything she needs. The food was so good. They had a nice cake too, and everyone brought home a plate of cookies. We played a few games . I won the cutest caterpillar candle holder. The favors were cute too, little pink purses, with a manicure set inside, very practical. My sister, and my nieces mother in law  worked so hard to make it all so special. I also found out that my other niece whose son is 3 mths old will be baptized the end of August. It seems like feast or famen with my family. We either see eachother all the time, then months go by, and we don't see eachother.

Thats all for now. Hope everyone has a great day!

    HUGS!

    Good Evening Ladies!

Looks like everyone had a busy weekend!  I'm glad it's the end of the month, now our busy July is done.  Had the neighborhood party on Saturday with a pig roast (I told Bob, it's a shame, but I didn't know 3/4 of the people there),  we only stayed for about 2 hours then left and went to church.  The kids were launching water balloons, and my wonderful son, launched his and hit his Dad in the chest from a block away!  Bob had a black and blue area on his chest, it's still sore today.  No problem breathing, just pain when he touches it.

Yesterday was our church picnic/farewell party for our priest.  He is going to Philadelphia, not too far away, but still.  We are getting another one this week.  We had a good time.  Joey got very emotional in saying goodbye.  He really didn't want to do it, he and Father became friends.  He served almost every Saturday evening with Father.  There was so much food there, no one could complain they were hungry.  I got some leftovers, I have two gallon size bags of veggies and the dip for them, and BBQ and kielbasa.  I told Joey he has to snack on the veggies, and I gave Bob some in his lunch too.  The pretzel tray was a big hit!  there was only a small amount left, so Stefi and I split them.  Anyway we came home around 6:30, and the boys set up the tents in the backyard to air out for the camping trip next week.  Then it was bed.

Today I did clean the bathrooms and did laundry.  Now after Joey and I have supper, I'll clean the kitchen and the floor.  Need to work on menus too at some point.

Hope everyone has a great evening!

    Patti, prayers to  your Mom!

    Jan, Happy Birthday!

    Hugs,

Shelia, the only way I'll eat beets is if they are roasted or grilled.  I put olive oil and S&P on them or coconut oil and S&P.   Great with other roasted veggies.   :)

    Enjoy.
