Hospital was terrible again. Was 2 hours late getting off and didn't get a lunch because just as I was going to lunch other nurse took off so then I couldn't leave. She went to other floor and was working on staffing. Ugh. So sick of the way things have been last couple weeks but not much I can do about it. Our main director of nursing is on maternity leave now and I don't know the interim one. Saturday will be worse because it is a bad anniversary date for me. I'm just hoping it is my turn to get floated or cancelled or on call. I may not have any hair left by the time Tuesday rolls around as I will have pulled it all out.
OK, off my soapbox. It is now 10 pm and I have to try to find something to eat and try to get to sleep by 11 so I can try to sleep.

It is 10 pm and DD is still not home from leaving in the am to go hiking with friends. Wish she would call. I left a message on her cell. It makes me crazy that she never has that thing on!

It was about 99 here today. Yuck! Although my tomatoes are loving it. Anyone caught up in the Olympics? Now that the gymnastics are over I am not as enthused. Although I do enjoy the synchronized diving. I am not a big fan of track & field.
DS BBq'd tonight and I had him do chicken, tri tip, a Nathans sausage, hot links and a whole Costco bag of asparagus. I am disappointed in the Ranch Pasta Salad recipe in the back of the Suddenly Salad box. I practically didn't eat it since it was super salty. This is even after I added tomatoes, spinach and cucumbers. Last week I couldn't eat the soup served to me in a restaurant is was so over salted. I like to taste my food thanks!

Not sure what is on the agenda for Sat. Hopefully a whole bunch of nothing!

Looks to be another sticky one here today.
I have a bridal shower to go to today. My great neice who also is my goddaughter is getting married in Sept.
Looking forward to fun time spent with family and friends.
I got her a vacuum cleaner.
After the shower, I am heading to the Legion, they have a chicken dinner from 4-7. So, I'll go help out. Royce is doing the cooking. I am making a chocolate pudding torte. The auxiliary ladies make desserts for the dinners.

Hope everyone is dong well this Saturday morning. It's going to be another hit sticky day today. This morning, I have laundry to do, and bed sheets to change. later this afternoon, Frank and i will go to church. Supper for tonight will be hot dogs, with a salad and the leftover mac and cheese.

Morning everybody. Night was not long enough, but I slept halfway decent. Have a headache though. Typical for the turnaround when working two days in a row and first one was bad. Hopefully it will ease off some. Expecting another bad day if they don't float me or put me on call, which I doubt. Just hope there is a clinical manager there who will do something about the one problem as it will be worse to deal with on the weekend because harder to get a doctor there on the weekend for the consult.

Lorrie, I have come to the conclusion that I am just going to buy a second cake mix and put a third of a cup of it in with the smaller one so I can still use my replace the oil with water trick...but I will be interested to try her mixes if they become available in this area and are the 18.25 oz. size.

Denise, that dinner sounds good. Know it may be crazy, but I kind of like hot dogs in the summer. May make some tomorrow if I don't think of something else (LOL).
I am off tomorrow but it will be awfully short, so won't do anything much except a load of uniforms and go to church and try to relax some.

Didn't post yesterday as there wasn't one up when I was on early, then got busy & didn't make it back before I had to leave. Got the bathroom cleaned and a couple other things done, which was good because my energy & motivation levels are usually nada by the time I get home, lol! Had a quiet evening; Danielle went to a movie with her bf & his family, Don worked in the garage and I was lazy - watched TV and read. Had to laugh at D; they went to see 'Total Recall' and she was not impressed - not a girls movie, lol!
Today Danielle is marching with the band in a parade in another little town not too far from here. I need to dust, run the sweeper again and have a few dishes to do up. After D gets home, we're going to head for the city to do a little shopping; looking for VB shoes & a few school clothes, will also go to Menards, then get groceries.

Had a super lazy day yesterday, got a couple small things done, but otherwise just relaxed!! Today will be doing ALOT of laundry - plus cleaning around the house.
Need to run to the bank quickly, also have to get some groceries.

Good evening. Hot and sticky here today. Got granola done and also some chilies canned and then weeding outside and watering. Then in and after lunch we went to Chicfila for a peach milkshake. Yum.
We exercised tonight so will sleep in tomorrow. having company after church, making a new eggplant recipe with a salad and fruit slush.
Had fun babysitting Maggie yesterday. We had a good time and then Scott and Kristine picked her up before naptime. They are off to Western MD tomorrow for vacation with her parents. It's their 5th anniversary, hard to believe it's been 5 years already.
Cute thing about Maggie and their new mini van. It's one that the remote control opens the side doors when you push a button so she will say open door and they push the button and like magic it opens so she thinks it's a magic car that opens when you tell it too. They are milking that for all it's worth. So cute.

Today started off even worse with one of my patients that started crashing overnight. Night nurse had been working on it. I started trying to notify MDs and wasn't getting a page back so I called a rapid response and we had her off to ICU by 7:40. After that I only had 5 patients and it was much better. She definitely needed to be in ICU. Best for everybody.
Off tomorrow so will get a little bit of rest.
