Good Morning Ladies! Cold and windy here! It's only in the low 30's right now. Bob didn't have trouble last night which is good. Sun is in and out today. Feeling better today than yesterday, getting the sinus infection back, and had a headache since Tuesday am, that finally left.
Joey is still sleeping and Bob went to bed at 8:30, it's nice and quiet here right now. Need to do some laundry and run to the store, want to see if I can get a turkey or turkey breast to do up so we have meat for turkey sandwiches, then home, too cold to stay out! LOL Won't take down decorations until after January 7th which is Russian Christmas (Ukrainian original) and of course ST. Nick comes for Joey, may take things off the doors and put away my snow village, other than that will keep things up. I'm sure taking the huge tree down will be a picnic! LOL
Making chicken breast for supper, how, not sure yet. Will also bake some cookies. I'm taking advantage of the cooking thing since when I work, I don't feel like making things with the schedules.
Waving to all the Junes! Wishing everyone a great day!
Hugs,
Theresa

Hey there Junes! Glad to hear everyone had a nice Christmas, prayers for those who have sick
ones at home, hope they all feel better soon! We had a nice Christmas also, our family usually gets
together on Christmas Eve and this year we got to have it at my niece's new house. She has 3 small
kids, so it worked out well for her, generally she's late for everything, so it was so funny when she said that
by having the get together at her home, at least she wasn't late, lol. The adults also draw names for gifts,
to make it easier on everyone's wallets :P and this year, I received a little starter kit on how to crochet.
I am so excited, I have wanted to learn and now I can't procrastinate, I have all the things I'm going
to need to get started with :)
The only dark spot in my Christmas was that I found out a friend passed away. We had worked together
for over ten years before she had to take a leave of absence to care for her husband, who had cancer.
I didn't even know she had been sick, so it was a shock to learn of her death. Please keep her family
in your prayers, her husband had just passed away on the 12th after losing his battle, so that left
their only son and his family with a very sad Christmas indeed ;(
Need to run, just got groceries so need to get them all put away, but wanted to pop in for a minute.
Hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

Good Afternoon June Friends!!
I slept in till 6:45 this morning. It sure felt good. I have been on the go all day. Dylan had a doctor's appointment at 10:30 and then I took Caitlyn to Target. NO clothes she liked or that fit right. So, I gave her cash for the gift card and she is going to go to the mall with a friend. I told her CLOTHING with the money. Hopefully she can find at least one skirt or pair of jeans that fits that she likes. Target had a skirt she liked, but only in small and XXL. She is a medium or large. GRRRRRR.
Yesterday, Dylan was on the verge of tears over the cruddy helicopter we bought him for Christmas. I told him that the helicopter was one of those things that Santa frequently gets help with from a store. Dylan asked how I knew that one. I told him that Santa left a gift receipt in MY stocking just in case. So, we took it back to Walmart, got a cash refund and then went over to Target where he found a remote control monster racecar that he fell in love with. The best part of all was Target had the car on clearance for just enough off that we had the money to buy rechargable batteries AND a charger. My boy is so happy today. First thing after getting up he was wanting to play with it. I made him get ready for his appointment (mean mom) before I let him play.
I have decided that while everyone is home, I am going to just take my time with projects I WANT/NEED to do. Maybe Dylan and I will play a game. He loves to play Monopoly, Yahtzee and Life (we only have the Monster's Inc. version). I will cook as needed. It will just be me and Dylan for supper tonight, so I will probably heat up some ham and stuffing for Dylan and ham and potatoes for me. We have carrot sticks for a veggie and pineapple and applesauce for fruit. We have cookies, coffee cake, shoo fly pie and ice cream as our dessert options. Caitlyn is hanging out with a friend this afternoon and will stay the night. I will pick her up sometime tomorrow.
Guess I will wrap this up for now. Have a wonderful day my wonderful friends. Hugs and Prayers for each and every one of you.

Good Afternoon GFs!
Hope you're all having a good day! I had been home for a week, so had to go out today to get a few groceries for the weekend, also running low on milk, etc... A lot of stores having post Christmas sales and crowds were almost as crazy as pre-Christmas. I picked up a few things in a few stores, but took one look at the lines to pay and put my stuff back.
Thanks for the sympathies regarding my aunt. I think I'll go to the service tonight, not the actual funeral tomorrow. My lungs are really bad right now, and it totally wears me out, so I prefer to go to the shorter service. Mainly I'd like to go give my cousins a big hug.
LauraC, so sorry about your friend, losing 2 parents so close together must be extremely hard!
I was VERY brave and stepped onto the scale this morning! I've told you how I'm on sugar-free diet and it has been amazing for my polymyalgia, haven't been in pain since a month after going sugar-free. So happy that I can do this instead of going on nasty drugs. Sugar free is hard, I love all things sugar. But with the intense pain I've been living with, it's really a no-brainer. Anyway another good "side-effect' of no-sugar is that I've been losing weight, even tho my diet is higher fat now. For the past 10 days I've been eating sugar, decided to cheat over Christmas holidays. I was scared that I would have gained a lot of weight back, I seemed to eat non-stop a lot of days. But scale stayed the same! WOO HOO
I need to tidy the kitchen a bit, been working on laundry... getting organized for weekend, we're meeting for a Christmas gathering with DH's family on Sunday, they were having a really hard time finding a date that worked for everyone around Christmas, so they decided to do it after Christmas. I'm bringing an appetizer for lunch, 1 snack for afternoon (chocolate) and the mashed potatoes for supper. I'm already tired just thinking of all the potatoes I'll have to peel for 40 people! lol
Have a great day GFs!
Thank You Jesus!!
Laura C, I am so sorry about your friend. Can't imagine how awful it must be for their only son :-(.
Dowie, sorry you are feeling so bad. I need to get to a sugar free diet. I know I would feel a lot better. Right now I am trying to work on my water again...although I did drop a few pounds, but probably because last two days were so crazy I didn't get a lunch either day or much of a breakfast.
Kim, glad you were able to find something Dylan liked.
I just heard a crash in the laundry room so l better go investigate.
Just got a call from work trying to get me to work an extra shift tomorrow. No thanks. After 27 years of overtime at post office and another 14 of working 2 jobs plus overtime, doesn't sound like a good idea to me, especially when they will stick me with the same high acuity patients I have had all week. I think they are trying to kill me (LOL). I need those two days to destress, so unless they mandate me, I am not going in as I have to work Saturday also. This is the worst week of Christmas acuity I have ever seen! It was a nightmare last couple of days. It is awfully strange that out of 30 something day nurses in the department they can't come up with 6 to work tomorrow. They only have 4 so far and evidently staffing must have told them they have to find their own. I don't like to sound mean, but the last two days totally drained me and if I don't recover, it will just make things worse.

Laura C sorry about your friend, her poor son.
Laura, wow, great jop with wt loss and esp the less pain. But know it has to be hard to go sugar free. Do you basically keep it out of the house, therefore DH and DD are sugar free at home? I would have to do that to keep my sanity. :)
Sherry, hope you can rest tomorrow.
I braved it and went to the stores today. Not bad, not too many and got the things I was looking for and then some. Met Ginger for lunch. So not a bad day and missed the crowds of yesterday.
