Good morning all. To have some sun and upper 60s to 70 today. Ed got home about 7 last night. :) Today is laundry, possibly get out and do some clean up weeding etc. Lack of sleep is catching up with me so may get a nap. Supper is burrito bowl using some leftover pork I have.
Ginger is across the bay for classes this week, gets home Wed. Scott flies out Tues to Alabama until Thursday and Kristine will go to her folks for a visit while he is gone. Not sure about Holly except I know she'll be around here.
Not a whole lot else happening.

Good morning ladies...........we've been having t'showers rolling thru here this AM, even had a little hail earlier; high to get in the mid 70's.
Was wide awake at 3:30, then dozed off & on til the first t'storm around 5; have laundry going and need to run the sweeper before I head out this AM. Also going to put a big pork roast in the crockpot; Danielle's been asking for pulled pork, so that will be supper along with a salad of some kind. Don won't be home til probably 7-7:30 as he's going straight from work to help his Dad; his only help is out with a separated shoulder and he's getting behind on his jobs. I know Don would love to be doing it full time, but the construction business is still so unsure around here that he really needs to keep the factory job for now.
Margie, thank you!! Don't work too hard this week & make your sister help you! ;)
Starting to hear thunder again, so better go.......sending prayers for all that need them and wishing all of you a great day!! hugs,
Morning Margie and everyone,
Margie I sure hope it doesn't storm when you have to carry all that food over.
Yesterday wasn't to bad,got off a few minutes early for a change I know it won't happen the rest of the week.
Dbis doing better. He said last night so far he hasn't been sick since Friday, crossing all fingers and toes on that.Should be an interesting day for him as his wife goes back to work and her sister is going to be there to take care of him.Poor feller, good thing he can't each much at a time anymore cause she can't cook.Hope she can at least throw a sandwich together for him. Home health should be out also. Db said he would of went to church if he had a wheelchair.Even with the walker he is still to puny to go to far and he didn't think he could make it from the car to the buildind and his appointed spot,3rd row from the front, left hand side.
He said to tell all of you thanks for the thoughts and prayers,he needed and still needs all he can get.
Hope all of you have a great day!
Good Morning Ladies! Cloudy day in store for us today, only in the high 60's to low 70's today. Work again, but school is over June 8th since we didnt' have any snow days. I can't wait, but I'm thinking I'll be working Special Ed over the summer.
Not sure what is for supper tonight, DH has to run to Sam's this am and get dog food, may have him pick something up. Not sure what's on after work, I know we don't have practice.
Waving to all the Junes! Hope everyone has a great day!
Hugs,

Good Morning Ladies,
Hope everyone is doing well this Monday morning. Boy, the weekend was a good one, but flew by! We had a great time at the cruise yesterday. Frank bought a couple chairs from LL Bean last fall, and they've only been used a couple times. Frank noticed yesterday, something wasen't right with his chair, so he already called LL Bean this morning, and they're sending out a replacement. We should get that in a couple days. Besides our usual morning routine, today I plan on doing spring cleaning in the den. I also want to wash a load of towels. Today is going to be the nicest day of the week, the rest of the week, we have chances of rain, or cloudy skies. I have pasta salad leftover from Saturday, so we'll have that tonight for supper and will grill hamburgers. I also make a salad.
Thats all for now. Hope everyone has a great day!
HUGS!Denise
Good morning. Foggy here with chance of rain later. Sure wish it'd dry up a bit so I can get some more planted in my garden. The strawberries that we planted are doing good. I hope to get the rest of them planted soon.
We have a new family member, my nephew and his wife had a boy. They named him Oliver Charles. Looking forward to meeting him.
Oldest dd has been sick since she got home from college. Sore throat and watery eyes. So, I haven't made any of the meals she has requested. Yesterday we were all lazy. We watched movies and I read a book all day. Today will be different, need to give the downstairs a good cleaning.
Supper tonight is fried chicken, mashed potatoes, veggie and a salad.
I need to fill the cookie jar today so I think I'll make some cake mix cookies.
Waving hello to all, enjoy your day. Becky
Good Morning June Friends!!
Sorry I didn't make it on yesterday. Had a busy weekend. Saturday, I cooked from 245 till about 515. After we ate, we went to Walmart. DN found the cutest Pooh Bear fabric for curtains for the baby's room. I will be sewing them up as I have the machine and know how. Unfortunately, we didn't get quite enough. I remembered the window as being about 30" and it is in fact 44", so SIL said she'd go get another 2 yards. We want some extra for a dresser scarf or a valance to go across the top of the close.
Yesterday I got up and went to early church service. The church people I cooked for a week or two ago LOVED the meal I prepared. The woman asked me for the recipe, so I will do it up and give it to my mom to give to her. My mom and dad, like this couple, go to early service every week. After church, I messed around on the computer a little bit and went to DB and SIL's when they got home from late church service. We had an easy meal of leftovers. They were really good. Anyway, I went with DB and SIL to measure some cabinets some people they know pulled out of their rental property (SCARY hot mess let me tell you) and then to DN's mobile to measure rooms and space to put the cabinets in. They will go quite nice actually and more than double their cabinet space. DB thinks two of them will go quite nicely above the washer and dryer in the laundry area. The cabinets are FILTHY, but structurally sound. SIL and I will be scrubbing them and probably painting them before they get hung. Not sure on that one though. I would paint them, hang them and then touch up as needed. SIL is chomping at the bit to get into that house and get things going.
We have some very scary weather in the forecast this week. They are saying dry thunderstorms beginning tomorrow. With everything being so dry, there are allot of very nervous people. SIL and DB watched the fire last year that displaced a good deal of their friends. In fact, they had to move their horse as well as helped move other peoples animals. It got scary close to the main part of the city. Even scarier, the mobile they are buying for DN is right by the fire zone from last year. Amazingly, that park was 100% untouched.
I have no idea what I will be making for supper. I might just say to heck with it and make waffles (only did the biscuits and gravy that flopped last week), sausage, bacon, hashbrowns and eggs and be done with it. I am still pooped and a little sore from Saturday's cooking marathon. The food was wonderful, if I do say so myself.
Guess I will wrap this up for now. Have a wonderful day my wonderful friends. Hugs and Prayers for each and every one of you.
KIM
Good morning,
Had a good weekend, went out to eat excercised both days, caught up on laundry, cleaned etc. General putsing around. Supper tonight will be Lemon Shrimp from my NEW Taste of Home Comfort Food Diet cookbook. OMG all the recipes in there are amazing. Everyone went through it and put down the ones they want. I will make a dinner menu from there for the rest of the week.
Have to vent this morning, DH is driving me nuts!!!!! Just because I dont do things the way he would do them, he is passing comments. I have run my household for 30 years and everyone has been washed, feed, have clean clothes, and a clean house in all that time. I am trying to ignore him but it is getting hard. It is to the point that I cannot say I am going to, or want to, or plan to do something. he will say to me, "when are WE doing it ?" First and foremost if I dont say I want you to ...... or come with me...... or would you mind helping me........ That means I will do it when I want, and how I want and IF I want..... Please dont think badly of me, it's just that for thiose 30 years I have spent alot of time doing things on my own. He always had very early wake up hours and going to sleep hours. I need to adjust just as much as he does....
Enough of that...
Have a safe and blessed day my friends..
Janice
Happy Monday!
Good Morning Junies!
It is foggy and overcast, Ugh, I want some sun!!!!
I am working on laundry this morning and cleanup from the weekend traffic.
Supper is going to chicken, doubt I'll be grilling unless it gets nicer out. If not grilling it, it'll go in oven. Going to roast (or grilled) veggies to go with.
Have a great day! hugs................
Margie, re: the fruit salad, since it is for a reception and has to sit awhile, I would just ditch the bananas and use the rest of the fruit if it was me.
Kim, do we have the recipe you made for that couple? It sounds wonderful. Wow, you sure are busy trying to set up that trailer. Pooh curtains sound cute.
Found a recipe on Pinterest I am making for breakfast. It is a bacon breakfast crescent ring that KateMarie posted over there. You make 8 slices of bacon, use a can of reduced fat crescent rolls, scramble 5 eggs (I added diced bell peppers different colors to mine), and 1 c. shredded cheese.
You preheat oven to 375. Arrange the crescent rolls in a ring on parchment paper lined pizza pan. Then you put a slice of cooked bacon on each one (would not cook it real well done since a couple of mine were kind of stiff to roll). You put 1/3 of the cheese on that, add your eggs to the center of the ring, add another 1/3 of the cheese, and fold the points toward the center. Then you top with last 1/3 of cheese and bake 15-17 minutes. I went and picked a grapefruit to eat with it. You could add green chilies, green onions, mushrooms, whatever to the egg mix if you want to add in veggies. Pretty quick to put together and would also be good with that orange slice recipe that I tried last year that uses 2 sliced oranges, 1/2 t. of vanilla extract and maybe a couple teaspoons of sugar (would have to check recipe to be sure). Pretty sure this will be a keeper. Love crescent ring recipes.
Here is a link to the step by step instructions.

Hello ladies ~
Monday again! Only 2 more school mondays left of the year! Donnie starts late today since he has AP testing. Nice to sleep in a bit. Gray, drizzly and cool here.
Priscilla's baby shower was very nice yesterday. She got a lot of cute clothes for the baby but unfortunately, not very many practical gifts - no stroller, car seat, etc. I think people really get excited about buying clothes for baby girls. She did get a couple very nice handmade blankets 2 quilted ones and a crocheted one my mom made. Everyone loved the chicken salad and hot artichoke dip I brought. I had a few requests for the recipes.
Tommy has baseball practice this evening @5. I am going to try my hand at making fried chicken for dinner. It is the one thing I have tried over the years without any success! It has been a few years so will see how it goes tonight.
I better get going time to make breakfasts etc.
Kathleen
p.s. Becky congrats on new nephew - LOVE the name!
This is a good news bad news thing.
Woo hoo, am I a happy camper today :-))))))). Haven't seen the pool since Friday afternoon when it still looked awful. Pool guy told me to leave pump on all weekend and then evaluate it this morning. It is sparkling clear. There are a couple spots where there is a little bit of dirt, but it looks sooooo much better. Probably will order filters soon just in case, but so happy. Pretty sure my catfish can get those couple spots but need to charge it again. Going to swim and try to not make my sunburn any worse than it is....then will take water sample to pool store and see if I can get it balanced correctly. Also will go put chlorine cartridges in my new duck floaters that I didn't want to stick in the nasty water. Also have next 4 days off :-)))))). My electric bill won't be too good running pump for that many hours in a row, but I don't care at this point. So happy to be able to swim again that I am doing the happy dance :-).
On the other hand, on the continuing saga of the mortgage company and the roof thing from the hailstorm in Oct 2010....it is all fixed....however, I have spent over 800 out of pocket for the A/C repairs, paint, aluminum coating, windows, and other odds and ends that the roofing company didn't do. The mortgage company sent me a check for 3600 in March that was supposed to have reimburse me and given the roofing company the rest of the money but it was made out to both of us so I can't cash it...tried to contact roofing company, multiple numbers, multiple e-mails, multiple visits. They still have an office open but they won't return calls and there is never anybody there. So I contacted mortgage company a couple weeks ago and told them the roofing company has been paid in full. The insurance gave me one check which I cashed and then got them a money order for...and the other part was one of those two cosign checks that I signed over to them. Have proof of both of those....so today I get a letter which have to take to notary to say that they are not responsible if there is any roof damage if the roof company folded or if they later come back and say they were not paid, I have to pay them out of my pocket. I suspect they folded or moved somewhere else where there was hailstorm damage. The roof itself is fine. I guess the mortgage company must be holding onto the 3600 dollars which doesn't seem exactly right but not sure what I can do about it and if I get a lawyer it will cost more than it is worth....so I guess I can kiss my 800 goodbye. I swear if anything like this ever happens again, I will not report it and will pay out of my own pocket to have it fixed. I have a copy of the sheet that says they were paid, but the problem is my copy is so faded you can't read it. I do have copies of the money order and the check I signed over to them. This has been nothing but two years of constant headaches....all for something that was not my fault. Grrr. I hate this mortgage company...liked the original one, hate the one that took over for the first one...but nothing I can do about it right now, so just have to deal with it. Ugh. So tired of dealing with all this red tape.
Found a pattern for a swim/towel wrap thing on pinterest. Might try to do that with one of my beach towels...not sure yet.
Kathleen, do we have your chicken salad recipe or spinach artichoke dip recipe :-). Glad the shower was a success. Last baby shower I was at was for one of my goddaughter's and I cannot believe the amount of clothes she was given (and this is a boy). I was always small for my age and a few months younger than my friends so I grew up on hand me downs (but they were really cute ones) and some things my Mom made. I always crochet blankets for gifts because everybody loves them and they aren't horribly expensive and take usually not horribly much time to make. Need to finish that other one.
That breakfast thing was good. Saw cube steak in freezer I need to use and chicken isn't thawed out yet, so will make the kabobs tomorrow I guess and a crockpot recipe today....cube steaks, can of french onion soup, can of cream of mushroom or chicken soup, packet of brown gravy mix and packet of au jus mix and cook low 6 to 8 hours. Will make mashed potatoes to go with probably, salad, and new recipe for scalloped summer squash.
Hello June friends! How I have missed you!
Things with my MIL are progressing slowly, it's been a battle from the start it seems. First with her fall due to hospital staff neglect, then the surgery, getting the news she had a stroke, blood sugars were high, etc... Then she had to be transferred out of the hospital in the city and back to the little hospital back home, which was worrisome for several reasons, first the staff and then there's not really enough physio for her. She's suppose to be getting physio every day and the physio therapist only comes in once a week. So I'm trying to get a private therapist to go to the hospital to work on her several times a week. Then I met MIL's doctor, who is the strangest person I have ever met. He denied that she had a stroke, even tho the hospital here in the city ran many tests on her and that's what the tests showed. Then he tried to tell me that her hip fractured at home first, and then when she fell at the hospital it could have fractured more. He said the reason she fell at home was due to the fracture (when it was really due to the stroke which affected her left side) I said how could she have broken her hip when she was napping just before she fell. He said people with osteoporosis can break bones while napping. She doesn't have osteoporosis! I was getting very concerned that this person was responsible for MIL's health. Here at the hospital in the city they adjusted her meds, giving her stronger blood pressure meds since the stroke was due to high blood pressure, but he said they shouldn't have adjusted the meds... So strange. In the meantime I've had a gazillon meetings, phone calls, emails, etc... with people investigating these nurses. We should hopefully hear something soon. In the meantime my health was suffering, I think affected by all the stress on so many levels from this huge mess. My polymyalgia attacked with a vengeance, asthma attacked... But I'm back on prednisone and getting better.
We had a fun weekend celebrating our new son-in-law's birthday! We all went out for lunch after church yesterday to his fav place, then back home to relax and eat chocolate cream pie (his choice instead of cake). We watched hockey playoffs, played ping pong, etc... Early eve DH & I went to watch the 3 kids play soccer, they all 3 joined an adult league. Was fun watching all 3 on same team! Then we came back home for a late supper of pizza buns and cheesecake. SIL couldn't decide if he wanted cheesecake or pie instead of cake, so I made him both! We gave him a tent & a few smaller things for his birthday. So now they can come camping with us! We're going in 2 weeks, I'm so excited!
I should run, just wanted to touch base quickly and let you know I miss you.
