I am working today and tomorrow and probably floating as it was my turn last Saturday but someone called in so that we had just the right number of nurses. They are getting a new clinical manager soon. Hopefully that will help with the new admits that come at the last minute. They help put in the orders so that we can leave and the night shift can get started on their meds and assessments. Hopefully it isn't another micromanager like the last new one we got.

Wow, I can see the entire post on my computer and post from it too.

Had to report for jury today and had the luck of being on a jury too. Very boring as the prosecutor rpeated his questions more times than you can count and repeated himself over and over in the end and he gave it 2 times. Thankfully only 4 witnesses and then deliberation. Only one more day I could report but because I went today more than likely won't have to go so that is good.

Calling for rain tonight and tomorrow and my gardens will be happy.

Ed was working on the riding mower last night and when he let the jack down something slipped and he got a huge gash in his finger. Cleaned it well, 3 different times, he wouldn't go to ER and put butterflies on. Poor guy put up with me making him soak it to clean hand better and then after we were in bed had him soak his hand in salt water so did a 3 different bandaging but felt better esp with final bandage and used betadine and lots of antibiotic ointment. Looks good today and will keep a close eye on it and if begins to look bad he WILL go to the doctor. Didn't hurt him much which did surprise me.

Maggie coming to stay with us overnight tomorrow into Sat, we'll take her to Ginger's when we go to work on Ginger's fence.

Heading off to bible study shortly.

Was on call all day, which gets long, but I was able to get a lot done of parish nurse stuff and recipe scrapbooking and read a magazine or two and did a load of laundry. Dinner will be very late cause I couldn't start till 7:30. Still have a headache, but the nausea is better and I will be able to sleep tonight. Off tomorrow. This helped my work 3 out of 4 day stretch. Now it will just be a work 2, then off 2 thing.

Will work on mandatories tomorrow. Did not want to get in the middle of one and get called in.

Dowie, good to see you. Flowers are pretty.

Waving hi to everybody. Was dreading the cardiology visit which usually ends in them saying I have gained a lot of weight, my labs are all out of whack, I need to lose a lot of weight and exercise more...and it is so discouraging, especially when he wants to send me to his friend the diet doctor with the really strict diet for 4-6 months where you basically eat small amounts of turkey breast and raw nonstarchy veggies. I have actually lost a decent amount of weight and my labs were all wonderful, except one which is much improved...so all they said was keep doing what I am doing and that I could have a hamburger or pizza once or twice a month, which they have never said before.

the town in TX my db in TN lived in for years got destroyed by an EF4 tornado Friday night and then the destruction in OK Is just unbelievable. Sending prayers for all those people. Waving hi to Margie, Lisa, (glad Don got the bat), Jan, Jolene (feel better soon, sending prayers) and everybody else.

Gotta work on a few things around here. Have a wonderful day.

Finished as much as I am doing on that office today. It looks a lot better but still need to clean off the desk and work on the one corner a bit. waiting on termite guy to come. Will have to do some mandatories today and tomorrow. Will swim later.

Slept well.

Cardiology appointment tomorrow...so trying to eat not many carbs and drink a lot of water

Becky, wow what a garden.

Yesterday I worked. Today I made a new recipe for banana bread, went to church (took banana bread), went to Wally World, swam and then relaxed in the pool. GOing to grill burgers and have with leftover potato salad and baked beans then probably go through old mags and possibly do a little straightening in office/craft room, do some laundry and either watch tv or read or crochet. Not sure which.

Hot and windy here Margie. Don't thnk it is over 100. Probably in the 90's.

Waving hi to everybody else. Gotta find my glasses. I can only halfway see what I am typing.

I need to get my hair cut too.

Got another swimsuit (like I need another one. This one is cute. It is teal, red, black, and white Hawaiian flower type strapless convertible to halter strap tankini and the bottoms have a ruffled skirt on it. Cute and doesn't make me look so far, plus will be good for Cancun. I try to keep about 6 or 7 swimsuits so if I get behind on laundry still have something to swim in.

This is the steakhouse burger recipe that goes on Kaiser rolls and has caramelized onions and mushrooms, lettuce and tomato that goes on it...and A1 and Worcestershire sauce and montreal steak seasoning in the mix. It is pretty good!

Sorry I've been MIA, just so busy - thought as the kids got older I would have more time, seems I just get busier and busier!!

Had a meeting at school yesterday, we are trying to re-vamp the ale carte menu for the schools, I got put in charge of that. Will do a parent survey next fall and a taste test day to see what we can do for new, healthy options. How I get myself into these things I'll never know :)

Patti, the pics of the grand babys is adorable!! I bet they are so much fun!!

Margie, is Em still working at Bath and Body?

Jan, glad to hear Jax may be better!! Hope you and John have a great weekend!

I didn't make the pork fried rice last night, did a chicken stir fry instead. Will use the pork roast up tonight and make the pork fried rice.

The weather here today is lovely! I love warm weather. I even like hot weather! Not super hot sweaty weather, but I do love to be outside when it's nice.

Tonight we are going to my grandbaby girls end of the year celebration at her nursery school. Lots of singing little voices, should be fun.

Good Afternoon Ladies!

Thought I would "pop" in while the laundry is finishing. It is a nice day out, not too hot, although tomorrow is to be in the high 70's low 80's. Monday at Joey's baseball game, I sat with my winter coat on, gloves, my hood up and a small quilt.......not the sort of things that you would wear for May!

Made chicken for supper, but Bob got home after 12 today, he went to Virginia last night, 2 stops, so not sure if he's working tonight. Anyway, he wants me to keep it for tomorrow night, and just have left overs tonight, so that's what I did. Although he's sleeping until 7 or 7:30, and he'll see if he is working, he has to have 10 hours off. So I will take Joey to practice, then run to Weis and get some lunch things then go pick Joey up later.

16 more days of school left, and I can't wait!!! This has been one tough year!! I am working in the summer though, so I'll only get about 3 weeks vacation, not enough if you ask me.

Welcome Veronica to the group! My name is Theresa and I am married 12 1/2 years and have one son Joey who will be "graduating" from 5th grade this year, then on to middle school. I am a RN and I work part time as an Elementary School Nurse. We live in Pa, where do you live in Pa? We live near Reading, if you have heard of that, in Berks County, but I am originally from Frackville in Schuylkill County. Would be nice if we lived close!

I forgot to get on here this am.

104 here today. SPent quite awhile out in the pool. Did all my laps, then got in a lounge float thing and floated around for awhile. Managed to coax Biscuit into it with me. SPent a couple hours in office/craft room. Running out of places to put my trash. May have to make a run to the dump tomorrow. Right now trying to get it all organized. At least I have a good start on it. Have the window A/c running in there so it won't be so hot tomorrow. Making hamburger stroganoff and salad for dinner. Haven't made that in awhile. Made that bacon egg pull apart thing from pinterest this am. It was really good.

Found some really old (from 2005 or 2004) June Club Christmas recipes on Christmas paper and some on index cards from Beth. Might scan a few of them.

Going to recipe scrapbook right now I think. Have another couple of big boxes to go to ST Vincent de Paul. I have at least 4 boxes of magazines I need to go through and a similar amount of books to read. Should not have to buy any more for awhile (LOL). I did manage to get all my material and patterns back into my sewing cabinet. Now to find a place to put my sewing machine.

Jan, sorry so hard to control Jax blood sugar. I can't imagine.

Morning everybody. So nice to be back on here again and be able to catch up with Denise, Becky, Jolene, Jill, Shirley and all. Feel like I am out of the loop.

Yesterday, Charlie came over and we were working on replacing pool filters. Had some issues because they quit making the right size and multiple online sites had said a different size would work but turned out to be too short to put the top back on...so we had to use 4 new ones on the bottom and clean 4 old ones for the top. So will have 4 new ones I can use for the next time they have to be changed...and I will have to order 4 of the expensive correct ones for the top. Went to Lowes and got a new grill as mine has lots of issues like nonworking burners and an expired or nearly expired propane tank. Also got wire shelves and working on putting a lot of stuff into boxes in my room. May look at getting a storage space for awhile to put some of the stuff I don't use much in and then look at giving it away in a year if I haven't gotten there.

Have a weird schedule at work for awhile. One day on one day off type thing until after Monday, then I will have 3 days off thank goodness. Should work on some mandatories as well.

Gotta go to Safeway and get a few things and will swim today. Going to try a new recipe for grilled steak with a southwest rub. Will go good with the black bean/mango salad I made yesterday and may make more cucumber onion salad and maybe onion potato packets or macaroni salad or something. Think I will have leftover pork chop and corn for lunch maybe.'

Becky, enjoyed your description of the birds.

Debbie, neat on the twins. Glad they are healthy. So happy for that couple.

Hi everyone, so good to almost have everyone back, it just did not seem normal not to have my visits with you all.

I was so sad to hear of Jeanne Cooper passing, I had been keeping up with her son Corbin's facebook and it at times was hopeful and other times so sad. I have watched that since it began back in the days of Snapper and his family, She was always such a lovely lady.

Kassie received a great E-mail from one of her professors, I felt so proud, she is such a great DGD and friend.

Well busy this week, we have a cooking class for our clients who want to participate and this week I was the pie making

teacher, I pondered about teaching them to make a pie crust from scratch and decided that is such a "feel" thing so I opt.

to use good old Pillsbury and even a generic brand and they did a great job and seemed to feel confident. We also made a chicken pot pie 4 each and 2 peach and 2 apple and ate them warm from the oven. They even cleaned up, and all were excited to have made this nice meal and a salad also.

Hello everybody, I sure do miss this "everyday" Just to let you know, I got a letter yesterday asking me to renew my taste of home magazine, well I wrote them a nasty little note tha until they fixed this board that I along with a few other people had not intentions of renewing our subscriptions. I guess that it will just fall on deaf ears though. LOL

Jennifer and family are coming for the weekend and I am so excited. I have not seen little Sammy (other than facetime) since Easter. They are also planning spending a 4 day weekend with us at the beach Memorial day weekend.

Jax(the cat) is at the vet, He has been diagnosed with diabeties. He is there and the vet is trying to regulate the insulin dosage. Poor thing, he will have to get two shot a day. But John and I will do what we have to for him. He is our "fur baby".

I think it may take awhile for Sue to move the post. I discovered a post of hers to another group or something that she said she had to find the tool she uses to do it with first.

The crockpot hot roast beef sandwiches came out yummy yesterday and very easy recipe, so definitely a keeper here.

You just take a 2 or 3 lb chuck roast and sprinkle with 1/2 t. garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste and then pour a can of beef broth over it (I use low sodium) and cook on low 6 to 8 hours. Then at the end you add 2 T. cornstarch and 1/4 c. water and I also added a packet of brown gravy mix during last hour. My roast was frozen at the start so I cooked 6 hours on low and 2 hours on high. And then serve over bread with mashed potatoes.

Unfortunately have to work today, but have three off after this.

Was able to find a new washer/dryer combo for a decent price that had good reviews yesterday at Home Depot. Unfortunately they can't deliver it until Thursday so I may have to run to the Laundromat to do a load of towels. The rest of the clothes I can handle by washing and hanging on plastic hangers in the shower till they dry.

Hoping to start swimming regularly again tomorrow since it will be warm enough again. Hopefully the pool will be clear by tomorrow. All that lawn work last week got it kind of murky so running the pump for 3 days solid which is what the repair people said to do last week. Will have to send for those new filters soon. Probably in a couple weeks.
