Joyful GardenerD. A. Hoover
Spading in the mellow garden,Sunshine warmth and glow,Bright-eyed robin searching nearThe even, moist, black row;Seed can balanced on a fence post,Cackling hens scratch nearby,I watch a woolly cloud patch floatIn a high and deep blue sky.Raking, smoothing, dropping kernels,I my golden dreams have spun'Bumper harvest, recreation--Every precious minute fun.
APRIL Fools' DAY!Jenny Whitehead
A trick by a friend,a prank by a brotherpales dearly comparedto one planned by your mother.
She's plotted all yearwhile she scraped, scoured, and scrubbedyour grass stains, your grease stains, your grimy-ringed tub.
She may try to setyour alarm clock ahead,so you're washed and dressedwhile the world's still in bed.
Or lovingly makeyour ham sandwich for schoolwith paper, not cheese, that reads "April Fools!"
But lucky for uson this one single day,a trick on you mother is also okay.
So, no one will blame you--it won't be your fault. The sugar-bowl sugar's not sugar--it's SALT!
Oh Ho Deery! DH thought to do a fool on DS and told him his car tire was flat...of course it wasn't but DS now says, he owes his Dad one. I can truly wait to hear what that will be! Our weather is clearing and very typical for spring, with temps in the 50's in the afternoons. The heatwave of a few weeks ago is just a memory, and a fuzzy one at that. The smell outside is just divine, all grassy and green with a few brave blooms. Happy Easter and many blessings to you and to your family. Mary
Hi Mary, what a good April fool joke to pull. lol Wishing you and your family a Happy Easter also. ~Deery
VioletsAddie Abele
When I kneel to gather violets,The long years fade away,And I am now a child againOn a warm and sunny day,Walking through a shady laneWhere purple violets grow,And as I touch their velvet heads,How am I to knowthat every year my heart will acheWith sweet rememberingOf misty dreams and little girlsAnd violets and spring?
Walk in the Garden at EasterMinnie Klemme
Come, walk in the garden at EasterAnd see the lilies in bloom.Recall how our crucified SaviorStepped forth from the depths of the tomb.
In the chaliced heart of the lilyRests a crown that is lovely to see,Not unlike the crown which the SaviorWill wear through Eternity.
The lilies were there all about Him,Supporting Him all through the night. They, too, had conquered the darknessAs they rose with the coming of light.
In the beauty of springtime flowers,Feel the tug that is light and is life. The cross and the crown have new meaningIn the spring when the lilies are rife.
Come, walk in the garden at Easter,Your life and your light to renew,For the Gardener who cares for the liliesAs tenderly cares for you.
Dear Deery, I am struck so profoundly by the eloquence of this poem. It is the culmination of heart, mind and soul and goes beyond....How rare and beautiful it is to be captured in the sacrifice and loving embrace of Our Savoir.
Happy Easter to you and to your family. I hope you are well and happy. Your friend, Mary
Thank you Mary. You help me to see so much more in poetry. I know it is there but I do not have the words to say it. May God Bless you my friend. It is finally beginning to feel like spring here in the NW. ~Hugs, Deery
I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book! --Jane Austen, pride and prejudice
Tea, tea, what a wonderful drink.
the more I drink, the more I think
the more I think, the better I feel

"In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life
It goes on"
by Robert Frost
Good Sunday Morning,
We have sunshine thus far and colorful spring blooms in the garden. Birds are flying by with shreds of grass and twigs in their beaks, so busy building nests. Where is everyone these days, I ask?? I miss reading news about what they have been up to in their lives.
Today is DD Erica's last day of art classes she's been attending this week about an hour down the island from home. It wasn't a class in technique - it was about how to get out of your head and loosen up - grab that brush and go! She's enjoying it much and happy to have the experience.
I'm thinking should bake something today and since I keep staring at ripe bananas on the counter, it probably should be banana bread or banana cake. Erica probably would prefer cheese cake.....maybe there's a recipe out there for banana cheese cake? I'll do a search and see what I can find.
I hope all of you are enjoying a pleasant Sunday afternoon and that no one has been involved in any of those dangerous tornados from yesterday. Thinking of you and hoping you keep in touch with the rest of the tea angels.

Spring PromiseD.A. Hoover
When spring was new and robins came,Sun splashed the earth with rainbow flame; The gardener brought his tools and seedsTo plant and tend and fight the weeds.By patient toil his crop grew on,A reward for work from early dawn.God gave the soil, sent sun and rain; The lesson He teaches is simple and plain:Earth's bounty is taken by just one plan--The partnership of God and man.
May your troubles be less
and your blessings be more
and nothing but happiness
come through your door.
To the eyes of the man of
imagination,
nature is
imagination itself.
William Blake
