I would like to introduce a new line of exciting teas that I ran across at the Frankenmuth Farmer's Market over the weekend. The blends are highly unusual and extremely good.

I purchased 'Brahm's Lullaby' which is caffeine free and a blend of rooibos, chammomile, lemon balm, lemon verbena, linden flowers, anise, cinnamon, oat straw, hops [yes...it is the first blend that contains hops that I have ever seen, in fact they call this tea the beer of teas], passion flower, orange peel.

Yum!

Awaking to the news of the terrible tornado that hit Oklahoma brought tears to my eyes. Our dear tea friend Carolyn and her family are located in the area and I hope she will come and write as soon as she is able. Been having some bottled tea lately, that I've put in the refrigerator. It is a citrus flavored green tea. I know green tea is very healthy for you, and the citrus flavor is good too.

Hi Arleen, Lady Grey is such a lovely blend! I recently got a blend of Earl Grey Strawberry Moonlight with chocolate chips...ohhh myyy, it's from Adagio and might be to your taste. I would be very interested to know more about the European blend you mentioned. I am highly partial to Mariage Freres Imperial Wedding and also to Vanille Des Illes. Good Morning Dear Friends and Welcome to Tea! Shall we all give a cheer for all Mother's, ours, mine and theirs, past present and the future mothers. I want to thank the friends who messaged me with grand birthday wishes. The last few months have brought me challenges of every size, shape and color. After weathering surgery for a kidney stone that was too big to pass, I was immediately beset with smaller stones flowing down from the opposite kidney...ouch. Day before yesterday I gathered my strength, visited the urologist, came home with more do's and do-nots, vowing to get this latest blockage out of my way.

It is no surprise then that I have left my positions as caregiver, and although I was committed to my patients, I am much strengthened, and more at ease.

As the world turns merrily towards spring and anticipates summer's glory the plants and trees emerging from a winter's sleep have called me outdoors to nurture their growth. A neighbor passing by remarked that it seems pointless to give so much time and effort to a season that passes quickly. I have to disagree, with dirt under my fingernails and the smell of sunshine in my clothes and linens. It's like the perfect cup of tea and although it is drunk down and the cup washed, the taste lingers.

A new tearoom opened close by and I found yet another thriving in Frankenmuth. They are on my happy list of places to visit, and I am simply wild over several Adagio tea blends. If you haven't visited Adagio you will truly be surprised at the varieties and I dare you not to order as the prices are more than reasonable. Shipping is very quick and I haven't been disappointed in even one.

Today's featured Blend is Adagio "A (sort of) Faireztale" which is a blend of pumpkin spice, rooibos vanilla chai and vanilla oolong. Does it even get better than that? The next tale will tell and I will share as the month progresses.

Thank you again for coming to Tea. I am not so much a leader as I am a person who loves tea and the friends who adorn the tea table like lovely jewels make butterflies fly and birds sing. Flowers bloom as friends smile and chatter happily. Please do make tea and serve it with a flourish, rain and shine. Gratefully, MaryM

Thank you, Mary. I just thought of the Gevalia teas since I drink them, and I know you like tea. You can easily see what they have, just get on their website, gevalia.com and explore. I haven't tried them all- there are so many, so maybe you will see more than I have.

I've done the baby bonnet and booties, so now I'm finishing that hat I was working on. It has 14 gauge electrical wire in the brim, so I don't think it needs starched. I've made some crochet flowers to attach today. It's nice to make something for yourself, sometimes!

Good Morning Dear Friends and Welcome to the Tearoom. This will be my last post of the old year as tomorrow I will plunge full speed ahead into my caregiving week. I will be working New Years Day as well as the family has decided as a group to do a group destination vacation to bring in the New Year. It is not possible for my patients to make the journey so I will be there to make the day next best lovely.

Today is not entirely an 'off day' as I provide the clients shopping for the week and I can't always manage that after a good work out week. I just thought that little phrase up because it makes me think more positively about the task before me than just working. Sometimes just changing your wording changes your feelings and, done in an uplifting way, it makes all the difference in how the minutes play out.

It's more fun.

Dear Elza, That nasty cold is making its way through and around here and I am holding my breath. Take care and drink plenty of tea to flush it out and to keep it away. Have you heard of a product called 'Halo?" It is a mouth spray antiseptic that is supposed to stop the spread and stop one from getting ill. The jury is out on the effectiveness but the idea is good. I am sorry you couldn't travel with your family, but I am so glad you didn't push yourself. I hope your new job is lovely and that you make wonderful friends there and in your new neighborhood. Speaking of new neighbors....ours arrived Christmas Eve and I am very excited to meet them. DH already extended the neighbors welcome, but I really want to bake something to take over. Ahhhhh....perhaps I will include a box or two of tea.....smile.

Dear Hedgie, You are once again inspiring me with all your travels and enthusiasm. I love the idea of little changes in celebration to bring more enjoyment and ease to the practice. We have had snow flurries and ice droplets galore. I still haven't cleaned from the last storm and its too early in the winter to hope that temps will rise and take care of it for me. EAsy does it...I hope.

So...bidding farewell to this lovely year of changes and happenings, near and far, I will meet you in 2013 with a new tea party! I hope our old friends will come back to celebrate and I hope to make new friends. Your very grateful friend and hopeful hostess, Mary

Merry Christmas MatildaSue, and big hugs for your return visit to the Tearoom! I started to go through my recipe books to see what would fit your request....and then I realized, I need a bit more info before offering. How many people need to be served and are there any picky eatters or allergies to think about? How about climate? I would offer different things for warm weather and cold. I would love to help you and will gladly, but I am working myself silly, all over the place and my time here has gotten shorter.

In my case, I cook when I can and freeze portions for a quick heating in the microwave. Our numbers for meals are so up and down I can't calculate in advance and it frustrates me to try. My best meals are quick breakfast for dinner type of things, that I sample while cooking [ummmm bacon.....] and I am wild over buckwheat pancakes which are gluten free. I go over the moon for french toast sticks with raisin bread made by a company that actually makes it so no one is wise to the fact that it isn't 'normal' wheat bread.

I lovelovelove cold cuts in salads and subs and my biggest trick of all is to get my deli meat cut really thick, say 1/2 inch or more and heat that. Boar's Head is so reliable and hasn't got fillers or preservatives. I get sweet slice ham, ever roast chicken or turkey, and that is the meat on the plate. Minute Rice makes those little cups that heat in 30 sec or a minute and I actually eat just that sometimes. Lots and lots of veggies and fruits.

Its easy on the clean up and I really am tired by the time I snuggle up with DH to watch tv at night.. My very best wishes to you and hope that your daughter just loves her job so much...Mary

Good morning dear friends, the tearoom door needs a bit of tending as it is not quite as used to opening up for me, but here I am with a can of WD40 and a tea cup. Won't you join me in a little tea party just to catch up and feel the smile or friends and tea?

It occurs to me, in a nice way of course, that with a squeeking door and a flower bed that needs some serious primping I might just be closing this little post off pretty much the way I started, with hope and a cup of tea. Every book neds a little dusting and this one is no exception, so with that...I hope I see you in a new little world, just inside the door of the tea room. I too have to watch my sugar levels so I understand . The muffins do sound yummy. Just remember the bulk of most high glucose is found in things such as juice, pop, or other sugary drinks. When eating things such as muffins, you have other ingredients milk,flour butter,,,,,,etc. So that makes the sugar glucose less. So It might be okay for you to have a muffin, just stay away from the tall glass of OJ to go with it...!

I am a mommy to a dear 9 year old daughter named Genesis and I am also 20 weeks expecting....I am not married, but have a wonderful boyfriend. I live in Kentucky, and by now the trees are all tiped with fall colors. The horses are enjoying frost bitten grass, and the skies are crystal blue with stretches of white feathery clouds. Football season is in full effect, so many are tailgating with pots of chili or Fried chicken, while others are begining nestling around the fire pit. I love fall!! I love to cook. It is my favorite past time. Im not much of a baker though I really wanna learn. Im hoping some of you can share easy, yummy baking reciepes that you started out on...I enjoy cooking healthy southern food!! Its what I grew up on, only it wasn't so healthy...lol. But out of respect for my dear grandmothe I will always keep her recipes alive, just with a healthier twist :)...Im not much of a crafter but my DD is a lefty and is very creative. So I try to do little crafts with her. I wish I was one of those peoplw who always adds the perfect holiday, wimpsacle touches to there home w/ the perfect amount of love....Im so glad to be here and look forward to getting to know you all!!

Happy New Year to all the Tea Angels,

I hope evceryone has a haapy and healthy 2012. I had a very quiet New Year's Eve babysitting ny two little grandaughters. It was fun. One of them was very excited because she was getting to sleep over at the other's house. We had a very informal get together on new year's day with a deep fried turkey. That seems to be our new tradition as we have dne it two years in a row now.

Mary, I just laugh at the thoughts of yellow underwaer. You wonder how some of these traditions evolve!.

Carolyn, sounds like you had a good new Year's eve ding the "Grandmother" thng like me. Some of my own children's best memories are of New Year's Eve spent with my parents and and their cousins of simailr age having thier own special little celbration while we went out.

Elza, that is sad news about your SIL. I will be sure to say a prayer that her surgery goes well.

Well it is back to work tomorrow. I have a new pair of pants i want to hem so I can wear them tomorrow and i want to make a batch of rum balls for my son who flies back to texas on Wednesday. The temperatures are expected to drop radically tnight and I don;t relish the thoughts of going out in the early mornng cold.
