Nice to hear from you!! I am sorry your back is hurting you, but I think you will like being retired too...We had storms last night, but nothing like everyone in the mid west and east coast suffered with.. We are to get real hot and humid today...No special plans.. I am trying to get caught up on work because of a busy weekend and appointments coming up...Actually, I feel a little grumpy...LOL Better get over that...LOL
Ron is going for his cataract surgery tomorrow...I think this is going to be a challenge for me with patience because this morning, when I wanted to help with his drops, he kept blinking and I couldn't get the drops in his eye.. It sorta made me mad....I will be glad when all this is over..I told him he is just going to have to sit still and not blink so much...You know how men are....I was about ready to hit him in the head...LOL I will try again at noon, and hopefully that will go better...
I am still using balsamic vinegar.. I can not find the aged one that you gave me, but I did find a pretty good brand that is aged 7 years...I make the sausage recipe often...we love it...
You take care and it is always good to hear from you...I miss SS...
OMG a BLAST FROM THE PAST! And a good one. Linda...so good to hear from you and I for one do believe that the retirement will be better for the back. Not sure about the patience with the ol hippie tho. LOL 24/7...Tell me about it! Been there, done that.
To catch you up on a couple of things...Paula Price also just retired and is loving it. Me...had a partial knee replacement on June 6. Still a lot of painful moments but I do see improvements. Have yet to wake up and say that I'm glad it was done but I had no choice.
Our Circle of Friends is having a 4th of July picnic today at my new neighbors house, Karen. You would love her and the rest of my Chez Amis neighbors...Paula and Andrea (Glassman). Hope you can drop by and enjoy some of the fun, food and share in all of the "latest news".
Sister Mary...well, it's noon and time for the drops. Hopefully, Ron can pretend to be sleeping with his eyes open and make it easier to get the drops where they belong and not dripping down his cheeks. lol Hug, thoughts and prayers for you both tomorrow.
LindA, It is so good to see you on the BB. Sorry to hear about the job but your back will be better. A little time off will be good for you. Have you thought about a school cafeteria job? You would have holidays and summer off.
Glad to see the "Ol Hippie" is going OK. It has been hot here and a few storms a week ago. We lost power a couple of times but not for long thank goodness.
How was your day? I worked today but we did get out early. I brought home a plate for DH so I didn't have to cook. He got BBQ chicken, green beans, corn-on-the-cob and a piece of chocolate meringue pie. It is easier than cooking, haha.
I will start my vacation this weekend. I have 3 weeks off. Going to MS, GA & SC. Trying to get everything together to take on my journey. I don't have a laptop (it died) so will have to find computers to use while I'm gone. I'm sure I will find some to use.
Well I'm going to eat a tomato sandwich for supper, so I'll be back later.
Hiya Linda!! Long, long, LONG time no see!! Great to see your cheerful self popping in! lol Great to hear the ole hippie is doing well, too!
Sorry about the continuing back issues and that you had to give up the job. I know it was awful hard on you. So did you do the greenhouse part of it this year? Or did someone else take that on?
The drought continues in so many places. Even around here, with all the rain we've had, we've not had nearly as much as they've had all around us! And when you dig around in the gardens and flower beds, it's bone dry and hard as a rock just a couple inches down. Officially, I guess, they've not ended our drought yet! But it's pretty incredible to me how the farmers crops are growing! It's just early July and corn is almost taller than the average man and all tasseling out! Wheat is ready for harvesting and oats. The soy beans were looking pretty good. But some hail really did a job on them about 2 weeks ago. Just so hard to believe how far along everything is. At this rate we'll be DONE with the fall harvest by mid August! lol Anyway...........
I wonder how things are going with your grandkids. I miss the stories and adventures. I'm sure when you have them they keep you busy! lol We've got a GD getting Labor Day weekend. And I just had a niece get married this past Sat. down in Joliet! Everything and everyone changes and it all seems to happen so fast!
Well, it's late. Just popping in to check on a couple things and couldn't resist the opportunity to say hello when I saw your name! Today the temps topped out at 101 officially and the tropical dewpoints made it feel like 112. More of the same tomorrow and then we're supposed to cool down to the mid to upper 80's. I'm sure you're enjoying this summer weather! But I am so ready for some snow! lol
You take care and stop by for a visit again soon!:o)
