Good Morning Everyone,
Hope everyone had a great nights sleep and that you all enjoy your Wednesday.....
Well, we took Mom yesterday and it was a hard day for all of us....The admission took long with the manager going over the contract, Beth, my daughter, doing the physcial, and unpacking..Strangely, the unpacking didn't take that long and we went with her to the dining room for dinner....The dinner they served was Ham loaf, scalloped potato and red beets...Not bad at all.. I couldn't eat all the ham loaf, too salty, but the rest was good... We stayed awhile in the afternoon and then came home.. My leg was hurting and I needed to rest...At 5 PM, Beth came with the truck and we loaded up the chair and took that in to her.. We wondered all afternoon, how she was doing, if she made it to the dining room and if she was alright.. We got to the home and I went to the dining room and she was at a table, talking to a man...She liked the lady that sat with her and her room is right across the hall from Mom, so I think they will become friends...I pushed her back to her room and we waited for Beth and Ron to get the chair in the room...Mom's room looks nice, but today, the maintance man is going to move her bureau to another wall, so that Mom's chair is closer to the TV....but Mom has lots of room to navigate around the room and get to her things.. Her room is bright and cheery...
Today, I have to get the oil changed in the car and pick up Cody and friend at the high school and take him home...Monday night Cody has a motor cycle accident and is all skinned up and hurt.. He hurt his elbow and his knee is hurt, that he has to have an MRI and see an orthopedic doctor as the X ray showed something loose in his knee....I am not sure what time I will go see Mom... Depends on how I feel... I know I have to get myself ready for Monday, but I wonder all the time how Mom is doing...Beth is at the home during the day, so that in itself is a blessing.. I just hope Mom tires to help herself and that she doesn't fall....
Everyone take care and enjoy your Wednesday....

Afternoon all!!
It's clouding up a bit. Hope that means rain! But I don't think I'll hold my breath waiting. Like everyone else, we just don't seem to be catching a break with the weather. Mother Nature has it in her plans to do what she's gonna do anyway. lol I know some won't want to hear this, but actually, some of the tress around here are starting to turn. It's only early Aug. so not sure if the tress are majorly stressed due to the heat and lack of water or if, because everything else is 4-6 weeks early, fall really is gonna come early this year. I suspect it's the heat and drought causing extra stress. AS much as I look forward to fall, I would sure hate to see the leaves dropping a full month ahead of time! But it surely is beginning to look more fall-like than late summer!
{{{Mary}}} - I'm sure things are really feeling strange with having to send mom to a care facility for now! I'm praying for ALL of you that this time will go quickly and be a very positive experience for all of you. You need to focus on YOU for now!! So prayers will definitely be continuing!
I'm trying to get some badly needed house cleaning done around here. I've been letting some things slide a bit lately and now it's really starting to bug me. Got some linens washed today so the linen closet is definitely looking much more refreshed and tidy. The bathroom is sparkling clean after a really good scrubbing of ceiling, walls and inside the cabinets. Got rid of some thing I never seem to use so now have a bit of extra space which will probably not take too long to fill up again! lol I decided I needed a wee break so I could pop in here for a quick peek and answer a few emails. I hear the buzzer on the dryer is sounding now. So guess that's my cue to empty it out and head upstairs to tackle the bedroom now!!
Hope all are having a great day! Prayers being said for ALL in need!!

The trials and tribulations of computers will be soon over. When he tried to fix the Bios he fried the first Motherboard so the new one already has Windows 7 on it. He had one more thing to do so brought my old one over so I could have it and we will do a flip flop of old for new sometime over the weekend or on Monday. It has been a challenge but have managed. I am making ham steak with pineapple and br sugar tonight along with sweet potatoes for dinner. My girl friend is bringing some Banana bread. Should be a good evening.
Ladies,
It is so nice to be home and cooking in my fully stocked and equipped kitchen! I tried to cook several meals in the dorm room but was very limited due to a lack of equipment. My biggest cooking there was skillet meals, supplemented ramen noodle meals, and baked chicken in spaghetti sauce and baked premade salmon burgers.
Since coming home I have made chicken in the crockpot and then used it to make a chicken salad for sandwiches, and froze some to make a chicken pasta salad once the sandwich chicken salad is gone. I have made baked chicken dinner for my family, and sloppy joes. This morning I made a full breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage, and toast.
We are having Chinese take-out tonight. I didn't have any chinese food when I was gone!
Oh, it is good to be home!

I do wish I had more time in the day to get things done. If I didn't have to work I could do more of the things I like Oh well, 6 more years then I can go part time. At least I hope it works out that way. Who knows what the world will be like by then.
I went and met a friend after work, She use to work with me but has changed jobs and now is closer to her home. We had a good time talking. Time just got away from us, it was about 8:30 when I got home. I brought food home for DH but he had already ate. Well he now has Mexican food for tomorrow.
Now I'll go see how much water I can drink before bedtime. Make sure I 'flush' my body at night, strange I know. but I won't feel hungry- LOL.
Have a good weekend Neighbors

Sid (FIL) died very peacefully this morning at 7:30 am. It is the Jewish sabbath today until 9:20 this evening. That means he will not be moved until tonight. The funeral will be tomorrow. He got quite agitated yesterday and it took alot of medication and 2 hours to get it under control. Since then he had been comfortable. The sons (3) have been here the past two days - between the three of them sometimes here all at the same time and other times not. Dan (MD) could not get away from patients yesterday so couldn't come until after work.
Sid was so happy to be here. After he fell (we don't think he broke any bones - but the fall was still too much for him), we were able to get him up twice, into a wheelchair and take him outside. And he had the biggest smile on his face! I'll never forget that smile. His favorite thing was to sit outside almost all day long - yes during this hot, hot summer! He got more kisses from me over the past week than ever, but before he got really sick I would have one of the boys get him ready for bed. Then I would go in and check on him, tuck him in and give him a kiss on his temple. He loved that - he would look happy, give a little nod and say thanks. His face told me it gave him great comfort and he knew he was wanted here.
Thank you all my friends,
Andrea
My Girl
Andrea, I am so very sorry for your loss. Prayers to all of you.
Andrea, I just know that you made his last days such happy ones. I was thinking when I read this that it must be such a blessed way to go--knowing that even in your very old age that someone like you cares so much. I know that you have been very willing to give your all to him, just from talking with you these last few months.
Love to you and your family!

Life can be so bittersweet. It was 6 years ago this weekend I lost my dear husband of 16 years and all of the Secret Sisters were absolutely wonderful. I have wonderful memories of him but really miss him also. It is very difficult at times to be living alone. He always loved to play bingo so will do that at the fiar tomorrow after I work the prayer tent.
Good Morning COF and Grandma's Place Friends,
Andrea, my deepest sympathy to you and to your family.. You were a blessing to Sid and made his last days wonderful...I know this is a very difficult time for you and please know, my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours....
Mary Ann,hugs and prayers to you too...I know it must be difficult at times to live alone and have all the burden on your shoulders...Enjoy the bingo game today and the good memories that were shared by you and your husband...
Mom is doing okay in the Personal Care home...Friday, she got a manicure and yesterday she went to the hairdresser.. So she is getting pampered a little...LOL Her room is nice and bright and set up so she can get around in it with a wheel chair...My DD makes her walk to the dining room, which Mom doesn't like doing, she would rather be pushed, but we tell her she has to keep up her strength or she won't be walking at all....It has been a hard week for her and for us, so I think she is adjusting well, considering all the circumstances...
Lots of bad news in my family.. Prayers are needed, badly...My cousin, who is 53 was diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease...She needs to have chemo and we are hoping and praying the cancer did not spread....She had a cold and found a lump under her arm..The doctor then told her, it was from her cold, but the lump never went away..She also had some lumps in her groin....My SIL, who just recovered from heart valve replacement has found out that she has cancer of the cervix...She has to get chemo too..She has a rare form of this cancer and we are worried sick about this too... I feel so bad for her and Nancy... So please if you could, say a few prayers for these two family members....
One more day of freedom and then I go off to the hospital for a knee replacement....I am not too worked up yet...LOL I have a feeling, it is all going to work out okay for me....I know it is going to be a rough couple weeks and I am not looking forward to PT, but I guess I have to go through all that to heal....I don't know when I will be back online, but you can bet as soon as I can, I will be peeking in to see how everyone is doing....LOL
Take care everyone and all my thoughts and prayers are with all of you....
Love,
Mary Ann - I am sad for you. With Sid dying Jon and I have felt a vulnerability that we never felt before. We are quite a bit older than when my mom and his mom died.
Mary - prayers are with you during this time. I know you are in surgery now.
I'll be back in a bit - things have gotten a little busy here.
Andrea, again hugs and prayers for you. I lost my own parents within 16 months of each other and that was the way they chose to go. I know it is a busy time for you and I understand the Jewish tradition as I took care of a Jewish couple in the 90s.
Hi everyone,
Complaint of the day ITS HOT
I just wanted to wave hello to everyone before I melt away.
Made some pancakes for breakfast, we will grill hamburgers on the grill for dinner. (that doesnt leave me off the hook... I still have to make french fries in the fryer )....
I hope that everyone is doing well today.
Amy, I totally understand the heat, but we have smoke to go with it. There are many forest fires around us and the smoke inversions are horrible. I have a doctor's appt and then have to go out to Walmart and pick up my medicine and then will quickly come home. Not much else going on. Blessings to everyone here.
Good Afternoon! I have not gotten much done today and I don't feel like it. I need a swift kick in the tush. Maybe tomorrow! Too many aggrevations. At least no smoke here. ;)
Continue to have evening services for Jon's dad. I do not have to go starting tonight Jon said. I do have a student coming over this evening. Don't feel like that either - he takes his big test tomorrow - not much I can do for him now but hold his hand! Oh well - I can do that!
Bummed about work - it is bad - and I just need to readjust and move onto other things. This is where I keep getting stuck. There are a lot of things to do - just don't know where to start. Work was a good escape!
Well, I wanted to stop in quick because I missed a couple of days. Will be back to chat more in a bit.
Stay safe,
