The beginning of the school year is proving to be as busy and hectic as I expected it to be!! I began on Monday and Tuesday with New Student Orientation committee work, Wednesday and today with professional development, and tomorrow the students arrive. Add to that the fact that I began my online graduate course work on Monday also, and you can see that I haven't had a minute to spare! Like Kay, my hiney will be dragging by tomorrow evening! Tucker is in withdrawal... he is so accustomed to me being home during the day.

Hope everyone is having a good week and that my Chez Amis neighbors are all doing well. Shout outs to Mary, as I suspect that today or tomorrow will be her "going home" day (haven't had time to catch up on her status, so I hope all is well with her recovery).Andrea... we HAVE to get together. I miss you Crying

I am so fed up with the fire and smoke.  Did manage to get out to the laundry room to do two loads and I have a load of rugs I need to do next.  I am now taking Bonevia instead of the weekly one.  First time, but I look forward to not have the major side effects of the weekly one. Sounds like everyone is busy.  We were supposed to have a board meeting this month, but had to continue it to September as our president was up at our church camp, got hit over the head with the kitchen dolly and ended up in the hospital having brain surgery that Friday and then again on Sunday to make sure everything was okay.  He is out and about doing some rehab and looks reasonably good.  Some of the people were out playing golf while the kids were water skiing and his golf partner was the one that got him to the ER after he complained of a severe headache.  John was his guardian angel and he is also an officer in the sheriff's department.

MaryAnn - terrible news about the camp president - sounds like he is lucky to be alive! Hope he has a quick recovery.

I am trying to catch up on correspondence - that means here, snail mail, etc. Being diligent takes time - I am trying to be more diligent. I enjoy reading everyone's posts here and on FB as well. I need to head over there in a few minutes - have been MIA.

I do not know where this week has gone.....I did get my haircut yesterday. And am updating my resume - which has been very time consuming as I am changing the format. I started to organize some school work - which should get papers off tables and into file boxes. We just shut the door to Sid's room and I need to go in there and get it in order - back to my office. They came to get the bed right away. We had a recliner in there that belonged in the family room - so that is back in place. He didn't have a lot of posessions so there is not a lot to do. I probably should do some laundry today. Sounds like the day is shot just thinking of all these things!

I work tomorrow at the station and hope to put together a presentation for a class at school that has been updated and starts week after this coming one. Am winding down at school and at college. Students are beign tested today on practicals for their registry. I thought about heading over to say hi. Jon is there helping.

Well, hope everyone has a great day! I will try to check back later. Oh and one last thing - I really love COF. You are all great - I wasn't in SS long enough to know much - but I feel a closer bond to everyone here and I appreciate that very much!

Andrea, glad to see you check in.  Looks like you are very busy.  Are you a nursing instructor or just EMT?  I have been curious about that.  And I totally agree with you about COF.  It is more up and personal.

    MaryAnn,

I am a paramedic instructor. I used to provide clinical education to nurses in the hospital - annual requirements, new equipment, orientation, etc. I left that two years ago, when the position was eliminated. I am thinking about going back to the clinical nurse setting......

OMG  Just when we think we are having a bad day, we have only to see the strength of some of our COF to wake us up to reality.  Eloise, Andrea, Kay and Mary Frost to name a few.  You women are so strong whether you realize it or not.  It could be the hugs and prayers from your COF I don't know but you keep coming back to remind us that there is a "tomorrow" and that the sun does shine.  Thanks!!

Nancy, we all have to be strong and especially those of us who have lost their mates.  Being single and a senior is a real challenge.  And there are so many that are going through trials and tribulations.

Mary ann and I had a nice visit and once again, thank you for spending your own "spending money" for buying and sending out gifts for her contest.  We appreciate all that want to do this but we encourage you to keep it affordable for your budget so you too will be let with coins in your pocket.  Next round we'll be coming up with other ideas so stay around and read what might be offered.  And of course, if at any time you have some fun ideas, please share and let's get a feeling from the rest of the neighbors as to their interest.

Pat nice to see you back.  I too had computer problems yesterday and finally after rebooting and the third time and letting it "rest" for an hour with still no luck, I mentioned it to Ed that found I didn't have it plugged in.  LOL  I talked to Mary Frost last night and she sounded pretty good.  It's not always easy to figure out what to do with the bum leg and therefore, it limits computer time.  But, she does think and miss us.  Her mail box can hold a few more cards.  Her daughter comes by and keeps the house clean and the laundry done and Ron is doing the cooking (the local restaurant fixes up a nice to go dinner for two).  lol Hugs to them both

    Happy Hump Day to all....

So glad the weekend is here. It seemed like a long week. By the time Friday arrives my feet are swollen, they want to rest!

Had hotdogs yesterday, not sure what to fix today. I need to see what is in the freezer and use it instead of buying more food.

To my neighbors at Grandma's Place, Hope to see you soon. Maybe some of us will be in a new neighborhood together.

Need to get dressed now. Have a great Sunday Big Smile

Good Morning! How is everyone here? I hoep we can keep chatting while we are in limbo between groups! I am going to miss my old group - but feel like we will stay in contact and it is always exciting to start something new as well!

My job ended - did I tell you that? It ended officially last week and I am very happy about that. So is DH. I am enjoying time off for now. Looking into clinical work - but hope I get a month or so off!

In process of organizing pantry. Have lots of work to do here at home - it truly has been neglected over the past year! So, little by little am reclaiming it!

Hope all is well - will check in later! Andrea
