Good morning everybody! It is 54 degrees here. Fall is definitely in the air. Our dogwood trees are starting to turn red and the little red berries are popping out. That is always the first sign around here. Pumpkin patches are open, apple picking is being done. hayrides for kids and adults alike. I don't normally care much for fall, but this year I am excited for it to be here.
Hedgie, congratulations on that new grand baby. Grandchildren are the best. I have two great grandsons 3 1/2 and a few weeks from being 1. They are a delight. The little one gave me a black eye this week. We were playing and he accidentally banged his head into my eye! So I have a big old shiner. I join Kay in encouraging you to join us all over on Facebook. You really can keep it totally private except for the few you want to see your page. And if you are using it just for COF, that is quite easy to do! Like Kay said, though, no pressure
Kay, still sending prayers your way for you to be ALL better! I can't imagine the healing process from such an accident. Love and hugs to you.
Marian, I imagine you and Rich are still back and forth checking on the folks. They are so lucky to have you to care for them!
Andrea, Karen and Nancy, my old neighbors! I miss you gals, but it is really nice to still be chatting with you ladies over on FB. I will be making Cincinnati Chili later today for dinner, and will be sure to put a picture up over there. I can never get photos to post here!!!!

OMG, Paula...54??!! I think I could handle that for 30 minutes or so. LOL Ed and I really liked the Chili, what a great idea that the ladies previously from Chez Amis had. The only thing that would have made my tailgate party better is if I were surounded by colored leaves and my COF!!
Joan...a new baby?? What a lucky Grandma!! Life is good, isn't it??
I've got to go over to the Swap Spot to see what is going on with Andrea's Fall Swap. Haven't been over there in months as I am so spoiled with the fast and convenient COF private page on facebook.
Today I am making a sample of an item to submit to Marian for her Holiday Booklet. I sure hope I have the right amount of materials. Ed did the math but he is now second guessing his calculation. I'll know by the end of the day. Thanks Marian for your willingness to do this...sounds like so much fun.
Kathy, Kim and Cec...my Voyager neighbors...Hope your day will be relaxing and memorable.

I just finished a bowl of the Cincinnati Chili. I had mine with everything. We used spiral pasta because that is what DH wanted. (His mom always put her chili over this type of pasta) Really good! Thanks Andrea & Karen for the "tailgating" party It was nice to try something new.
My computer is still giving me problems. I looked at a new one at Office Depot. Windows 8 will be out in a month but one sales person said it will be different. No "start menu", more like what we have on our phones. And he said they are starting to fazed out the towers/desktops and go to touch screens. I really hate change so not sure what I'm going to do.

So glad it is FALL. The termperature this morning is 75 but the fact that the humidity is low will make it feel GOOD. I can handle cooler weather but apparently must be patient. lol
What a fun time we all had with the tailgate party and Cincinniti Chili! Amy you asked how many it would feed...I'm guessing at least 12. Now that the day and the party is behind us, let's work towards the Holiday Booklet that Marian is compiling. I think we have one week to get the information to her. Kim hope you and your therapist are getting you better and Kay...still rest!
Hi all,
Just came over this way to post a thank you to Corrine and realized I haven't posted anything over here in... well, a loooooong time!
All is well with my world. Found out today that I'll likely live until I"m too mean to keep going. Seems that my female parts are getting a little old and rusty. I had a D&C last week and just got the results to day that there is no cancer and no current need for a hysterectomy. Darn! on the hysterectomy part, anyway! I'm done with those parts so I wouldn't mind parting with them!
Its' been very cool here, unseasonably so, as my DH would say. We actually had ice on the car roof on Sunday morning. I know everyone else is happy to have cooler weather, but my season is summer and I'm really not looking forward to the winter cold. I guess I'll have to visit my Florida girlfriends when the going gets tough!
Hope you all are having a good start to the week!

Good Morning! Just to let you know that Kay will be going to the doctors today and I do hope he finds a solution to make her feel better. She still is not doing well. HUGS
I loved watching DWTS last night. Of course I have a LOT of favorites already! LOL When you bring back all stars, it has to be good. I will admit that there are a couple that I wonder what in the world they are doing there. (2 certain women wink wink). Tonight we'll see if the voters agree with me. LOL
Temperature in Central Floirda is 68. I only meniton low because that is the best part of the day. I really have had my fill of hot weather.
To my nighbors, Kim, Cec and Kathy...sending smiles and hugs to you!
I hope that Kay gets a good report at the doctors. We thought we were rid of smoke and it is now back from fires in Oregon, Washington, Montana, and Idaho. The smoke was terrible yesterday. I am so tired of it. Getting a couple more things ready for Marion and for a mailing for the Shining Stars for October. I hope that everyone else is doing well.
