Just a thought to share with you...A myth of Thanksgiving...Believe it or not, the settlers didn't have silver buckles on their shoes. Nor did they wear somber, black clothing. Their attire was actually bright and cheerful. Many portrayals of this harvest celebration also show the Native Americans wearing woven blankets on their shoulders and large, feathered headdresses, which is not true. The Englishmen didn’t even call themselves Pilgrims. (I'm crushed. LOL)
Just another clue to my Ornament Partner...You have a professional sports team in your state as I do. nancy

Looking forward to getting your cards. thanks for being apart of this group.
Mine are all sealed and stamped and ready to go. I haven't sent out a bunch of cards for years now, so this is going to be tons of fun! Now I need to get my ornament ready to send. Mine is going north and west of me.

Hi Everyone in COF
This was a very nice, relaxing weekend for me. I spent it at my daughters house babysitting. I love being with her children. The youngest ones, twin girls, are in kindergarten so they always have so much to share whe I go down. I came home this afternoon and now have to get ready for work tomorrow.
It was nice to have the three day weekend. Is Veterans day a holiday for most of you? Here in MA it is celebrated on NOvember 11 and on a Monday only iof it falls on a weekend.
Hoping the nice weather continues after the snow last week.
Joan, aren't those grandchildren wonderful!! My great granddaughter is grown now, but she gave me 2 great grandsons, and they are amazing!
Eloise, I know those monthly anniversaries of your husband's passing are hard. You are blessed to have family members who are sensitive to that and help you through the painful part of adjusting to him no longer being with you except in your memories
I want to offer my condolences to one of our previous neighbors, Tina, in the loss of her father.
Back to school today with a lot of errands having to be worked in. It's that time of the year. If I could get Ed to put down his "devices"(technical stuff) he could be a big help. Oh, well, let the woman do it and get it done. Today I am going to dwell on what I DO accomplish and not what I WANTED to accomplish. Positive thinking today.
And talking about positive thinking...I am so thankful for Eloise as her notes are always upbeat. Thank You for keeping me/us on the right track.
And as a grandmother, let me add to Joan and Paula's notes...the little ones are our sunshine!
Paula and Nancy thanks for the kind words. I am so thankful for my faith as it helps to know I will see my husband again. For my ornament partner it will be mailed tommorrow Friday and is going to a state not far from mine that has alot of cities that start with c. anyone think it's you? we'll have to see. haha
Sending special Happy Birthday wishes to Mary Ann! This is your day so enjoy it!

I wanted to extend my deepest sympathy to Tina and her family also...My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family...
I mailed my ornament yesterday afternoon to ??????..Partner, when you get my package, the note is taped to the bottom of the box....I had the box all taped up and decided not to open it to put the note inside, so I taped it on the bottom of the box.....Hint....We are still enjoying this Partners swap package from spring.....
I am making some veggie soup for dinner.. I feel we need something like that after all the restaurant meals we have been having...LOL It is so much easier going out to eat than cook sometimes..
Hope everyone is doing well..
Looks like disappearing posts are the norm yet again on TOH!! I sometimes wonder why I bother posting here when the posts mysteriously disappear when you least expect it! Sheesh! Happened on the Thank You thread as well. That was simple enough to fix by just going back to FB and cutting and pasting it . But I didn't do that in the chat. Soooo.............
IT's a foggy start to the day here. AS the hours tick by the fog thickens. It so doesn't feel or even much look like Thanksgiving week. Temps are way to warm and nary a drop of moisture to be seen anywhere on the radar maps. Whatever happened to cold, crisp fall mornings. They've left MN! That's for sure! So sad!
Well, the house needs cleaning again. So best get at it! All I really wanna do is sew, sew, sew! But it will have to wait! Hope all are having a great day!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone in COF
Are you all ready for the big day? I spent the day at my daughter's house preparing. All that's left to do is actually cook the turkeys. She has two 15 pound birds. One will done in the roaster and the other one my son in law will deep fry outside n the yard. It should be a nuce day for doing that and for all the grandchildren to get outside to play with their cousins. There will be about twenty of us for dinner and then my SIL's family comes later for dessert so it is a reallly busy, fun-filled day.
Have a wonderful day everyone
Oh, Joan...sounds like a wonderful day! I've never had a deep fried turkey but have been told they are the best! Moist! Now that you get to keep those memories, you can move on to prep for Christmas and make more memories.
On my way to breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Am I really hungry after yesterday??? LOL
