    Good morning Rosies,

We are in the midst of a snow and ice storm. Looks like the snow is finished and it is all ice now; but supposedly going to turn to rain later in the day. We can only hope!

So we did have a good Christmas Eve everyone was here. The kids got so much as usual. I got Nicole Doc McStuffins stuff, which was apparently the hot toy for 2 year olds. Very hard to find. Also early on Valerie wanted me to get a Kazam balance bike for Nelson, that also is something new and trendy; so I did. Then she had him in a toy shop and he saw the bike and didn't like it at all. Well I wasn't about to return it; so I gave it to Nicole. Nelson wanted to get on it and Nicole wasn't having it "NO, it's mine" For Julia it was the year of the giraffe; so I gave her all giraffe related items, cute jewelry etc. Also I had a lady in Canada do a great watercolor of a giraffe and then I had it framed/ I also gave Julia and Kate mini I-pads. Lila helped me with that in advance by programing all age related things on it for them (I know nothing about that) They were thrilled, not so much their very conservative Dad.Well, on and on and on with the games, books, toys, jewelry etc.

Of course, the next day at their house Santa was still to come.Julia reuested a live giraffe ( you can see how much she still believes in Santa at age 10; but never expresses any doubts. She knows if you don't believe you don't get anything) Kate on the other hand was sceptical this year and wrote a letter to Santa requesting a bunch of stuff; but one secret item that she refused to tell anyone what it was and if she received it she would find out if there really was a Santa.

Mary Beth, Dave and I went to Lisa's for Christmas day after mass here. We have the most fabulous priest and are very blessed. Had a great day there.

The only straw in the ointment , so to speak. Tom had been in his room with the door closed for 5 days. When we got home Christmas night he finally surfaced. He was a total mess, bruised from head to toe with bruises on his arm like I bet you have never in your life seen. He said he tripped over something in his room and was knocked out. had a concussion stiff heck . Obviously a lot more to the story, but he wasn't drinking. I can't get him to the doctor until tomorrow. His doctor is out on a family emergency. He seemed somewhat better yesterday.

Hi ladies. We are over 1/2 way to Memphis. Just finished lunch at a Cracker Barrel. Roads are clear & the sun is shinning now. Well miss Maizey did Kate get her "secret" presant from Santa? Lol! Sly like a fox :). Hope Tom is doing better. Jamie got Kendall a leap pad ll. similar to the I pad but especially for the little ones. All the girls wanted time playing with it. 34 degrees at 1 pm in MO. Memphis is supposed to be 43 today. 21 is Cold for TX Pat. Steve just saw a sign for gas for $2.95. MO is always cheaper on gas than IL. Jane how goes it today? Til later ladies. Enjoy your day!

Wow, Maizey, what  Christmas....giraffes!  I love the Santa story too but you didn't say if she got her "secret wish". I sure hope so!   Hope you can get Tom to the doctor. How is his nutrition?  Does he come out for meals? That has to be such a worry for you,  It's nice you have such a nice priest. I just wish I could understand ours. His accent (Kenyan) is so strong it's impossible to follow his sermons.  Everyone just shakes their heads and hopes he gets transferred soon but I don't see that happening.

Happy trails, Diana. Nice that the roads are cleared. There is some serious bad weather going on.  Sounds like you guys had a great Christmas too! It's so much fun with kids that age.  Will be fun watching Gianna learn how to ride the bike. A challange even with training wheels.

I saw your picture on FB, Pat. You guys are looking good!  Looks like the walking is paying off. My New Years resolution....back to the tread mill and laps around the neighborhood.  That's a beautiful jacket you have on too!  Very glamerous!

Jane, another 11 lbs.  Wow!  You must have to buy a whole new wardrobe!  I'm envious of the weight loss but I sure wouldn't want to do it the way you have. Not good to not have an appetite.  Hope you get to the bottom of it soon!

    Off to seize the day......

I posted this, this morning the same time Maizey opend this room...

    Good Morning,

Just opening the door on this very cold morning....21* here! No walking outside for me & Lily....I will have to do the elliptical again today!!

I may go out and get my nails done and run to the grocery store to get some much needed produce! My front passengers tire has a small bubble in it....not sure I want to drive it, even though Ken drove all the way back from the Lake with it! I have an appt for Saturday morning to get 4 new tires...I needed them anyway, just forced to get them sooner then I really wanted too!

    Safe travels to Memphis,Diana!!

Here is the picture I posted on FaceBook today.

Roma, my jacket is one that I had made in Thailand over 10 years ago, but haven't been able to wear it in at least 4 years!  You can really see Kens weight loss...he tried on all his sports jackets and this one was the one that fit best....and it was still too big!  LOL

Yes, Pat, you both do look fantastic -  I also loved the jacket.  I'm also wearing clothes that have been hanging in the closet for the past few years. I tried a baked potato with out the skin and some tapioca salad tonight.  Got my hair cut after work, then picked up a scrip at the drug store - thought about waiting until tomorrow, but we are suppost to get 3 more inches, so thought I'd better do it now.  Should have gotten gas, but didn;t.  Miss Maisey, your Christmas sounded fantastic too - Hope Tom get to the Dr. and is okay.  Cook, safe travels, but you are probably there now. Roma, it's hard then the sermons are so hard to follow - sometimes, even when you can understand them, you can't follow them. I have to be at the hospital at 7:30 tomorrow morning for an ultra sound - Hope it brings us one more step closer to figuring this out.
