I highly recommend the Best-Ever Pepperoni Pizza featured in the February/March 2012 S & D magazine. The dough was super easy to work with and didn't give me any trouble. There was next to no mess at all to clean up! Anyways, loved the dough. I also though the step that involved baking the crust first and brushing with olive oil improved its quality. The crust was not soggy and was crispy, the way I like it. Loved the sauce too, very yummy. For half of my pizza I put pepperonis and the other half I topped with last-night's chopped up meat loaf (yes I know, isn't it a good idea?) Overall, very easy and not messy at all. Crispy and well....... perfect. The whole pizza was swallowed within minutes (I highly recommend making more than you think you'll need!)
Thanks so much for your review of the pizza. You made it sound so easy, I think I will try it. Sounds yummy.

Thanks so much for posting, 1275! So glad to hear that you enjoyed the pizza, and I love the idea of using leftover meatloaf. Great tip!

Although I have not made this particular pizza recipe, I am a big fan of using pizza as a dumping ground for leftovers. Because I cook for two, there are many times when I have 1/2 can of this or 1/4 can of that, and pizza and soups are my favorite ways to use up that good food.
For example, instead of the traditional pizza sauce, I have used alfredo sauce, cream of mushroom soup, tomato soup, salsa, and even some party dips. Toppings that were precooked leftovers that are really good are the remnants of tossed salads, shrimp, stir fry beef, tuna, talapia, and even, chicken liver.
Remember the old cereal commercial that said "Give it to Mickey... he likes everything."??? Pizza likes everything. Try it, you might like it. Be sure to tell us about it.
