I just purchased the TofH Simple & Delicious cookbook ISBN 978-089821-515-1 and tried the Cookie Fruit Baskets on page 200. Everything was fine until I tried to get the baked dough off the paper. In short, it was impossible and I finally threw the whole thing away. I lined the cookie sheet using white typing paper and followed the directions to remove about 30 seconds after baking (which was tricky because everything is still hot!).
I wanted to serve these to neighbors for a desert. Please tell me what I did wrong and how to successfully end up with what the picture shows. Thank you!
I'm not sure what the recipe called for but I would of used parchment paper that's used for baking - not typing paper....I don't think I've ever seen a recipe that suggested typing paper? I also have 2 sil-pat liners that nothing ever sticks too....So I'm thinking that's where you went wrong.
Lynn1018 is right on the nose. Parchment paper is specially treated, so the food won't stick. You can buy parchment paper by the roll in most grocery stores; look for it in the section with aluminum foil and plastic wrap. Give it a try... you'll be amazed at the difference!
