Snowyrivers, we have done Martha's recipe too...it does make a nice gravy! I usually brine my turkey, but occasionally we go back to the wine/butter soaked cheesecloth. My husband bought me a Butterball turkey fryer last year and while we don't use it for the holidays (We buy huge birds on the holidays) we have bought a few smaller birds and tried frying them up.
Brining is still may favorite though.
