I am stay at home mom to 3 great kids, Kaden is 8, Hailey is 6 and Maya is 4. I am have been married to an amazing man, Brandon, for 8 years. We love the quiet, country life! My Husband and son are avid hunters so I am always looking for venison, rabbit or dove recipes. I am from a family of cooks and married into a family of cooks, needless to say we are always in the mood for a big potluck dinner, and new recipes to try out!
The first time I tried my grandmother's dinner roll recipe and it actually turned out like it was supposed to!
A few years ago, my husbands aunt gave me a start for amish friendship bread, the kind that takes like 2 weeks to finish. At the end of the two weeks, I took out a few starts for some of my friends and then baked the bread which turned out great! I re-typed the directions and made copies to give to my friends along with their starts. I had apparently missed one BIG step when I typed the directions, that being that you are supposed to "burp" the bag each day to release the built up gasses. I didn't realize it until my friends started calling and thanking me for the horrible messes in their kitchens due to the bags exploding and leaving bread dough dripping off of cabinets, appliances and even ceilings! I felt terrible! Thankfully, they were very forgiving, and we still laugh harder than ever about it, but I'll probably never live it down!
There is no substitute for a good, home cooked meal with your family.
