My Greatest Cooking Triumph: My mom was an Italian cook who COULD cook....she was an outstanding cook, & she came to our house for dinner, & actually praised the meal....I was smiling from ear to ear. My dad loved when I cooked...he would eat anything.

My Biggest Kitchen Disaster: When I was about 7 & my little sister was 4, our parents were going out & my older brother (he was 13) was supposed to be watching us...but from the time he could open his eyes, his mind was made up that his life was to be spent chasing girls. Anyway, I had to lite the stove to put the TV dinners (homemade ones) my mom made for my younger sister, my brother & I. Gas stove...so I turned the burner on, lit the match & was shaking all over. I drop the match & had to light another one. By this time several minutes had passed. I got the match lit, put it down by the hole where you stick the match, and BAM the stove door blew off. Evidently, too much gas had escaped while I was lighting matches. We were scared to death....never did that again. Even to this day I am afraid to light a gas oven & it's only been 50 years...lol

My Food For Thought: I love to cook & I try not to let any food or anyone intimidate me. I'm not afraid to say I am comfortable with a recipe in front of me when I am making something new. It is very satisfying to watch peole enjoy what you cook.
