I mastered making Danish using a yeast dough recipe from scratch and making croissants.
I couldn't read my own writing on my recipe for an apple cake that I've made for years, and I forgot how much butter went into it. It only uses one stick- well I ended up putting in one pound of butter, needless to say it was nasty. I've never made that mistake again. That was about 25 years ago when I made that mistake, it's never happened again.
Always make sure that your recipes are written out clearly and precisely, this way you will not make the mistake that I made all those years ago. And always have duplicates of your family recipes in a seperate place in case you misplace them, this way when the holidays come around you know you will always be able to bake/cook those special recipes for everyone.
