I'm a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, now living in Slidell (suburb about 25 miles away) for four years. I like searching for and trying out recipes. I've become a great fan of braising which really brings out the flavor in a hunk of meat. I'm also a great griller when it's not too hot. I'm retired from a major oil company and visited offshore platforms and drilling rigs in my heyday. I kind of miss that and the wonderful people that operated those platforms/rigs. I'm the mother of three dogs with differing personalities and neuroses, and I love them dearly. My significant other loves my red beans and rice.
