I am only 48 years young and have 9 wonderful grandchildren, 7 girls, 2 boys. They live mostly in other states except 3 live here in Washington like myself. I helped my husband almost 30 years ago raise his 2 girls and 2 boys. He was 31 and I 19. He had been divorced for 3 years before I met him. Our oldest girl gave us our first grandson in 1989. He turns 19 this Oct. How time flies!!
Way back in 1980 when all I really knew how to do was boil water. I learned how to cook thru my husband and my mother in law. From then on I become a pretty good cook, to the point where when we moved to Washington in 1986 I got a job on the Washington State Ferries, and retired from there in 2003.
Was when my oldest son Willie wanted to get this piece of ice out of this pop bottle that he found outside. He wasn't watching what he was doing and the top of the bottle broke causing a piece of the glass to fall in a big kettle of chili I had been making all day from scratch!! He felt so bad and was afraid to tell me what had happened, but in the end he did and we all ended up going out to eat after all!!!
