I'm a country girl at heart and have always loved horses and mountains. I was born and raised in northern California; marriage took me to south Florida, but from childhood, I wanted to be a cowboy and live in Texas. 23 years ago, this handsome Texan flew (not rode) into my life and made my dream come true -- altho' he doesn't have a ranch or even a horse and no oil wells! He's very special just as he is! This is a 2nd marriage for us - my husband was widowed and I was divorced. We are now great grandparents with children (his and mine, but no "ours") living in Texas, Florida, Virginia, Tennessee, Michigan, Georgia - but none close by. We love to fish and travel, altho' age has slowed us down somewhat ;-) We enjoy being active in our church as well as just being together.
No triumphs, but I've managed to keep our family fed. I've never been a really good cook -- my main interest was being outdoors. My mother tried unsuccessfully to teach me the finer points of housekeeping. She was so disappointed she didn't have a "frilly" girl. Now that there's just the two of us, we find we enjoy learning to eat more healthy foods -- sugar free and all that stuff. My sweetie and I have been blessed with good health and we aim to keep it that way. He's 85 and I'm 75.

Someone told me that life is like swimming -- you've got to keep moving or you'll sink! Keeping active and keeping moving is very important. It keeps your body and your mind in working condition!
