About Me: Married, four children (two girls and two boys), twelve grandchildren (seven boys and 5 girls, ranging in age from 19 to 2 years). They are the love of my life!

My Greatest Cooking Triumph: I make a really good GUMBO and homemade eggnog. My children are grown, but they still get excited when I make okra gumbo; my daughter competes with me in making pralines. She does pretty good, I must admit. We all love homemade bread. Recently, during one of our gatherings, I was instructing my daughter on cooking something when she said to me, "I know Mama...how do you think YOU learned to cook?" I couldn't help but laugh.

My Biggest Kitchen Disaster: I made ginger cookies and didn't add the flour. I looked TWICE to see how much flour and overlooked it both times. Cookies were awful!

My Food For Thought: "Train a child the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." They may stray for a minute, but they'll be back. That basic home training will always be there!
