I am 55 years old and just last August, I married a sweetheart. He is two years older than me and we are hardly ever apart. We are both disabled and he is retired. We both have arthritis, and Type ll Diabetes. He has irregular heartbeats, and we are changing drugs a lot. So far, nothing is working. I have two daughters ( see pic ). I am the one in the middle and this was taken after our wedding in August. The brunette is the oldest at 34 years old and has two precious girls, ages 8 and 4. The blonde is 30 years old and has three sons, ages 13, 9, & 7. My parents live across the street from us and are both 78 years old. I do what I can to help them, but I am limited. We attend church where my dad is still a pastor/minister and has been for well over 50 years. We are both born-again Christians and I have played piano and keyboard in church since I was 11 years old. I am the oldest of three. I have a sister and a brother and lots of nieces and nephews. I collect cookbooks and recipes, pretty glass platters and bowls, any and all kinds of cookie cutters, I love candles, too. I weigh about 50 lbs. more than I should and can 't exercise because of my knees and hips. I try not to complain, and I thank God that I have my own legs. Some days are better than others. I just take one day at a time.
One Thanksgiving, my family asked me to be in charge of the desserts. None of them enjoy baking, so I made 11 different things, and everyone loved them. I am still hearing about that Thanksgiving. Of course, that was years ago when I didn't suffer from osteoarthritis. I now bake when I have a semi-good day.
Made a huge chicken stir-fry for my soon-to-be husband. I had make this dish many times before. We have no idea what went wrong, but it was just plain, no good. I may never attempt that one again. We threw it out, after trying to eat some of it. I felt terrible about it, and went on to prove to him that things like that don't happen, on a regular basis.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, its about learning to dance in the rain!
