I'm a founding member of five different women's groups, I'm on several Boards of Directors (The Beautiful Women's Project- an art exhibit and school curriculum training about body image/self-esteem for ALL ages, male and female), the Niagara Culinary Trail- (encouraging local chefs to use local produce) and on the Advisory Board for Beyond Montessori ( a new school using both the Montessori and the Waldorf Schools of Learning). I'm President of the local Business & Professional Womens Club (an international advocacy group lobbying gov'ts for social & economic betterment of women worldwide) and Im also District Director for BPW Ontario as well as a long time active member of my sorority Beta Sigma Phi. I am also primary care-giver for my 89 yr old mother
creating hors d'oeurves for 40 with no recipes, my homemade soups, winning a few local cooking contests I became known as the place to be when I put on a party, they were going to eat good!
1. the angel food cake that exploded and my oven looked like a mushroom factory 2. my first microwave meatloaf...so hard even the dog wouldnt eat it 3. new bride attempts to cut down cooking time by peeling and cubing raw beets...oops! (but hubby ate it anyways)
Cooking can be very soothing and relaxing....always enough for extra company...Mom used to say we will just put a few more potatoes in the pot. I enjoy canning/freezing the harvest from my garden for later.
