I am from a family of 5 brothers and 4 sisters. They are all living, but Mom & dad have gone home now. I live in Southern IN, and have been very blessed to have traveled and seen many states. My favorites are Fairbanks, Alaska, Tomah,Warrens, and Wyeville, Wisc., and much of Colo. Springs, Co, and some surrounding areas. I have one DS and 2 possible grandsons. LOL! They are 10 & and 12 yrs. old.

When I was a teenager I tried to help my mom when we were to have company for supper. I remembered her using a yellow colored box to make a thickening, so I got down a box and mixed some of the powder with water and poured it into the stew, and it foamed up. I called my mom into the kitchen and asked her what was wrong. She asked to see the box, and told me I had used baking soda instead of corn starch. We diped out as much liquid as possible and put in a lot of tomato juice. It was still exra salty.
