Growing up in Trieste, Italy opened my culinary horizons. I don't always succeed, but my desire is to make Home a soft place to fall. I struggle every day to choose the best over the merely good. My family is my joy.
I'm sure there have been great meals I've been able to pull together, but I think coming up with something for supper night after night has some triumph to it.
When I was a young baker of 10 or 12 I surprised my family with a "Wacky Cake". One of the ingredients called for was oil I accidentally used my mother's frying oil and it was the fishiest tasting cake you can imagine! Yuck! The cat we had at the time thought it was delicious.
God is so good to me. I am so thankful that though my human relationships hurt and disappoint me, I KNOW that God will never be hurtful to me. When someone hurts me, He gently whispers to me that He will never hurt me like that. I will never bear scars for having Him near. In fact, He bears scars for me! How cool is that?
